My laptop getting realities by metabox I still got warranty my brother rang company now tell me my video card died I wonder why it's so much hot air when I play yakaza 2 PC version. That's why doesn't turn the laptop on this time they fix gsync now no more black screen flickering or not stupid windows 10 creative update. Let see fps is better on final fantasy xv.
-
You really need to improve your English. Anyway. What you are saying is that your gpu died? And you sent to RMA?
-
Yes my gpu died GTX 1080 they are replace it now and they testing to figure out. Maybe I have to wait another this 3rd week to reapiar my laptop this 2nd week now. Taking ages reapir metabox.
-
How many years GTX 1080 gpu last longer on gaming laptop. my one last 2 half years my laptop.
-
Well my P775DM3-G is going for the second year with the same hardware. No issues here. Got a 1080 tooLast edited: Jun 28, 2019

anyone upgrade to RTX2080 ?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Some have on the platform but it's really hard to justify.
-
Not worth it over a 1080. Would be if i had a 1060 or even a 1070 but hardly worth the money they ask for it. Waiting for the new gpu's to come out and we'll see
-
I got an email today by metabox they put replace GTX 1080 they having issue there faulty video card they have give to manufacturer to wait longer.
They told give me GTX 1060 no way until they fix it 100 percent. -

They have 1060 gpu I don't want it until 1080 fix it to manufacturer for my laptop.

If they are offering that it could be a little while before they get it sorted.

I got weird screen from my laptop i just got it back about three weeks ago. When i play a game get that issue i update the driver latest.
I send a pitcure can u tell me what a issueAttached Files:

Can tell my gpu is faulty or not
-
Seems like GPU is faulty. Did you clean install the drivers? Also any overclocking software running in background?

I did clean drivers from ddu today nothing change and when i play spyro triogly remaster on morning got me warining its d3d is missing something.
I tried rpcs3 all the games not issue no crashes. Only direct 3d issue. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Might be windows itself is corrupt if direct x is misbehaving.
-
Other games working properly? Latest nvidia driver gave me "dx12 dll" errors when I launch BF5/BF4. So I installed previous version and all working properly. In your case might be corrupted dx library. But I think M$ no longer release standalone DX runtime installer.

If that does not work a re-install of windows would be the next thing to try.

This is error got me in spyro remastered u see a picture

Try formatting and reinstalling windows and test it
-
I would take out the GPU, check for dust or something and clean it. Then install it again and checked if all thermopad on ram and power section are doing well. Apply a new thermal paste and check if there was improvement. If the glitches is still present, I would reinstal windows.
Glitches appears only in windows or on bios/startup screen before launching windows? -
If the glitches appears on BIOS menu then the GPU is almost dead.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Indeed, if after a re-install or it happens during the first parts of boot then the card needs replacing.
-
I tried reset windows doing nothing still getting glitches i tried xenia emulator i tried lost oddsey using show me power usage very high
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Re-install rather than reset but it looks like it needs a new GPU.
-
Still doing it agian even i did re install windows u right gpu faulty agian metabox isnt testing gpu properly next time i tell them u bloddy install the graphics driver u see gsync black screen flickering and see there is gpu faulty thats a big report to the company.
Worse warnnty too. -
Gpu unstable thats means bad motherboard too.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
No, the gpu is on a separate board.

Hello everyone,
Have my P775DM3-G for 3 years now, recently it started misbehaving.
Whenever I hit about 88-90 degrees on GPU+CPU my games crash, sometimes recovering to desktop, sometimes staying like this until I do a hard reboot. In the latter case my PSU LED switches off and i have to replug it.
What is strange that for laptops these temperatures are not exactly too bad, in some laptops CPU/GPU can reach up to 100 degrees and throttle.
Also I've been gaming like that all the time, and initially I was even higher (95-99) but since then I've delidded my CPU and did regular cleaning/occasional repasting.
The reason it even reaches those temperatures is that I like to leave fans on auto - so that it is not too noisy, but doesn't go higher than 90 degrees either.
What can it be? Signs of a GPU starting to die? Tested with multiple driver versions, so most likely not Nvidia related (however might be Windows update related, not sure).Last edited: Oct 5, 2019 -
You know the Cpu/Gpu temp but not the temperatures on VRM's due they don't have any temperature sensors. Re-paste and swap to newer thermal pads (at least check if the thermal pads isn't worn out and have good fits when you repaste).Niaphim likes this.

I think I am going to order thermal pads to replace this one and others as well.
Never did this before, so if anyone can help me with the information - how to I attach them to heatsink? Did some research, but I keep finding some thermoresistant glues which is not what I want. Do I need to use some sort of thermal glue or an adhesive tape? -
Its one of the inductors. Shouldn't be your problem. But the hotter the Gpu run then expect the same for the power delivery as well. Re-paste and see how it works. Check also pads and paste job for Cpu. See... Repaste both Cpu and Gpu. Please post results afterwards
Edit. See if you find a repaste guide for your machine and hardware. Could be Youtube is the proper place. And use proper pads (correct thickness) and thermal paste.
Don’t forget clean out fans and heatsink grills.Last edited: Oct 5, 2019Niaphim likes this. -

An inductor is just a lenth of wire basically, there's no active part so it can tolerate a lot thermally.

Finished repasting just before writing the previous message. With unified heatsink I had to repaste both, so was a good thing to do anyway. Did a few runs of my games, got to 92 degrees with no problems, then fans kicked in. So far so good, so maybe it was just the paste
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Your paste looks like your heatsink is not making proper contact by the way, see how one corner is much cleaner than the others? Make sure your pads are allowing the heatsink to sit flat.
-
Thank you both for the information! This helped to understand the structure of the board a bit, appreciate that

I had this behavior but in my case it was indeed driver related, had only one driver working with no crashes.
Very bad thermal contact of the GPU die, and because of this it dies faster by heating up and cooling down too quick.
Follow the guide from @Papusan, it will help with temps.Last edited: Oct 7, 2019Papusan likes this. -
I have a P775DM3-G with the 75Hz 1080p display. I recently noticed some colour temperature unevenness, especially on white or light grey backgrounds, such as the nVidia control panel or Google search results. The image below is my attempt at reproducing it. In reality, it's not nearly as intense, but the shape is roughly the same. At first, it took me a couple of days to notice something was off, but now I can't ignore it, even if it's subtle.
I'd like to find out if this is an issue with the panel itself or if I can do anything to fix it. I've had this laptop for just over two years now, and the display hasn't had any issues apart from this.Attached Files:
