Every thermal pad is placed properly and there should be no cooling issues (unless heatpipes are damaged but I would have much worse core temperatures). I've checked them few times.

Yesterday and today I've spent at least 14hr for testing...
I've reflashed to stock vBIOS and then again to Prema vBIOS. Same issues so I've returned again to stock vBIOS. So my darkest scenario comes truth, I've received faulty GPU. And the worst part is that it works well with stock vBIOS (yet) and will die probably in worst moment. Awesome...

You haven't received a faulty GPU. The shop has not placed a thermal pad on the MOSFET which has probably killed it or at least weakened it to the point where it can no longer hold high loads.
It's their oversight...these things happen and they have to replace the card.
What you can do if you don't want to send it for RMA is get an additional MOSFET soldered to the empty spot on the top right corner which will lessen the load on the weakened one and make your card again 100%.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/5pcs-Brand-...538?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27fb7ad472

EDIT: Looking at your clocking results that MOSFET is now probably dead and it is only using the other two. By adding one in the top right corner it will take the broken ones load and your card will be as good as new.

16K Data stripe size is the recommended size for SSD RAID 0 according to Intel and it is actually better. Think of it, the OS comprises of very small files (DLL, INF, etc.) so having a 16K data stripe size is the best for OS Drive. Although 64K Data stripe get a bit higher benchmarks, for 4K Random Read/Write, 16K is the best and snappiest.

64K would be ideal for the games drive and 128K for a drive that comprises mainly of large videos like your movies library and whatnot.

So I will definitely to contact my reseller for GPU RMA... I hope they will agree to replace GPU.
I will start writing message with GPU replacement request...
Damn my luck... or lack of it.

If they will replace it before April 20th I will be happy, if not... I will have to delay travel or go with damaged GPU.

I was praising them for having it already set correctly. At this point I would give HID an unqualified recommendation based on this buying experience.

To the thread in general something that has come up is HWMonitor is showing temps in the low 70 range at the CPU and GPU both after an hour of gaming. Seems low to me. Don't laugh, I'm wondering if I'm getting bogus readings or if something isn't enabled but the performance seems to be in line with what has been reported with similar hardware. I did spec the repaste but it seems almost too good to be true.

My DM runs the 6700k around 35-40 idle, and during games gets to like mid 50s. I also undervolt by 150mv at stock clocks

My GPU capped out at 52c today at some point, don't know which game it was

70's are good, I'd be happy with that. 52c is incredible.

After perusing the information here while I waited for my laptop to arrive I went ahead and undervolted myself, same value, did it before I installed windows. I'm typically sitting in low to mid 30s idle and in gaming haven't been able to get past the low 70s so far. I've gone ahead and went from stock to 4.2 on all using the settings posted by Phoenix and without any discernible gains in temp. Makes a guy think but I don't have the time to fiddle with it. In truth at this point the laptops performance has exceeded my expectations. From what I see a guy who will upgrade at Pascal but wants to order now and knows his games can be run in SLI can sleep easy ordering the 970s, they run max settings without a hiccup with headroom for the future.

I plan on setting my DM up as a Windows 10 Pro/Linux (flavor to be determined) dual boot machine. I've ordered the machine with 2 SSD's, with the thought of dedicating 1 drive per OS. Is this an okay thing to do, or would it be better to have both OS's on the same drive? Or is it, for the most part, a matter of personal preference?

p.s., The drives I ordered are SATA 3's. Eventually, I plan on buying NVMe drives, but I'm going to wait for the release of the Samsung SM961's or whatever Optane versions show up.

If only I was able to test division before I had my 980 swapped with 980m sli we could have compared numbers better. I do know, however, that in order for my 980 card go hold a 150/100 OC I needed to pump in some serious extra voltage. Otherwise crash crash crash in any game. I'll be able to test the 980m sli in the division tomorrow night or Wed latest. So we will see difference!

Hello guys, just got my beast! 6700k and dual 980m sli. What's the best laptop cooler for this setup? Temps are pretty good, but gonna start benching and pushing it to its limits pretty soon. So in need a good laptop cooler. I've seen in @Mr. Fox videos he has a cooler but I know he has a 980 instead of 980ms not sure if I should get the same or different one. Thanks in advance

Usually the one a lot of people talk about is the cooler master notepal u3, since you can configure the fan placement to the vents on the computer for best cooling, instead of having them stuck in one specific place.

I'm actually using this cheap 6-fan one I got off ebay:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-17-Lapto...723188?hash=item3aa7c3b174:g:viMAAOSwPhdVMH9L

For $17.50.... not bad at all. I can only use it at the 2 lowest height settings though, due to the thickness of this laptop, but even at the higher of the 2, the angle is just fine for me to type.

I eventually plan to raise it up higher, to avoid hurting my back, because it doesn't quite reach perfect eye level. I'm going to sit it and the cooler on top of this cute little black table with all it's little USB 3.0, etc. inputs:
    http://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Monit...7746961&sr=1-2&keywords=satechi+monitor+stand

...and then grab a Logitech G910 keyboard with the optional keycaps, that I can store underneath it.

Have you thought of resting the stand itself on something to help raise it up for now?

Yes, but my apartment is pretty empty and I don't have anything I'd trust putting under it. At the highest height setting I can use, the laptop is still something I'd worry about slipping beyond the stop bar & falling off the desk. I can type on it just fine, do my gaming, etc, but I feel that if the cat was to jump on it, or if I put it on something flimsy like a phone book, it wouldn't turn out well.

So long as the base is not over the edge of the object the weight and contact area should be enough to keep it stable.

A more permanent solution would be better, so it was just a suggestion for now and to make sure you know the height you are looking for.

I've already got my purchases planned out, I'm good. I was offering Juang1985 some info on my experiences & choices. I think that Satechi stand will help keep a minimalist look to my desk & serve my height purposes. I'll be able to stow the keyboard under it, leave the cooler & Razer Naga Epic Chroma charging dock on top of it, etc. Eventually going to build a mini LAN room and cut some holes in tables, to install something like this:

You mean like the Up-Desk that was reviewed by LinusTechTips. Those are quite expensive though. It was an ordeal just getting up the money for my P870DM-G. Maybe after I get my education finished & become a bit more financially successful in my career, will I be able to afford stuff like that so casually. They are very nice though. I work in a small factory that fabricates medical furniture. I have access to wood, metal, people to weld stuff for me, etc. Still gotta pay for the materials though and put in the work.

Updated bios to 1.05.06 LS1, but no change to the aforementioned problems i've had.

G sync still hangs for about 0.5s during alt-tab with gsync enabled
Keyboard still has the same problems (though Larry @ LPC did ship out a new keyboard today, hopefully that fixes it)
    Bluestacks still doesn't work properly.

Just thought I'd share, no idea what they changed in it

    Hello guys,

i got a p870dm with Premas Bios and Vbios.
I have a quick question, I like my keyboard light to be red vs (default blue) i can easily change that on the control center but i noticed every time i turn off the laptop when it starts while boot up it goes back to default colors, (blue) till it loads control center then it turns red. Is there a way to make red the default color and make it stay even when you turn off the laptop?

    thanks in advance

This is something I wish I had access to. At least more tools and materials than what is in my garage for sure. I would end up with an expensive laptop cooler / port hub that probably costs more than my laptop...

I have owned thie laptop for more than 3 months now and I just noticed this. I turned it off and as you said, the keyboard color is blue until Windows Loads and the Control Center app is loaded. This sucks really. Wish it saved it in the BIOS like in the Alienware laptops.

    BTW, please update your sig

I know the P770ZM prema bios changes the color from blue to white at startup, so there is some way for an edited bios (though I would not advise doing it alone) to have the color changed.

That's what I suspected since your sig has G.Skill Ripjaws RAM and only HIDevolution have those!

Your system is basically an EVOC P870DM-G since it's from HIDevolution and has the Prema BIOS/VBIOS.

I'd updated my laptop model if I were you to EVOC P870DM-G instead of Clevo but that's up to you ;)

    -150mV is only for 42x4

My voltage offset for 44x4 is -80mV with max temps of 80C

my CPU is a Silicon Lottery factory delidded + Liquid Ultra as my thermal paste

My Cache Ratio AKA Ring is also @ 44 min / 44 max with an offset of -80mV

Turbo Power Max and Short Turbo Power Max = 130000

    Power Limit 1, 2, 3, and 4 all set to 300000

    Turbo Time = 1 second

Power Limit time also 1 second

    Hello guys,
Guys I just got my second bluescreen on this machine... last was 1 month ago... I did not pay much attention back then... I've not seen exactly a bluescreen... while gaming the screen went dark... and the computer restarted after a short while (my guess is after the computer took the memory dump)...
I investigated with BlueScreenView app and it showed me that it was the SynTP.sys to blame, the Synaptics driver and I have the latest driver v19.0.24.1.
I've always used the external mouse and the Synaptics is set to always disable when a external mouse it in use...
The P870DM-G was and is very stable, I've never had issues... except this one... at least on record...

Anyone had problems with the driver or is it just me?... lucky me...

Humm I have a problem with my mouse, my left button stopped working and I see errors from the same software. I too use an external mouse quite a bit and when I turned it back on the button just started doing some really weird stuff and then it no longer worked.

I contact Eurocom last week about an RMA and no response.

Did you also get an bluescreen? If you did get one can you have a look please with BlueScreenView and tell me if the SynTP.sys was the culprit?

    Thank you

    What OS are you on?
Most of us are on Windows 7 or Windows 10 on the P870DM-G and haven't had any BSOD's because of the driver. Maybe something else is interfering with it and causing it to derp out?

I am on windows 8.1 and I am pretty sure mine is a hardware issue because the left click doesn't work in safe mode or recovery through Acronis legacy boot with a CD.

Ya the others work fine always, really weird I have never seen one fail just all the sudden. Wore out sure but not like this . Hopefully eurocom will reply and replace it. Glad it's not my only machine or bag fun.

Buttons can fail sometimes as they are little mechanical devices.

Roger that, I am using Windows 10 and never in 3 months did I have a BSOD. With that said, I have to also mention that I never used the touchpad, ever. I never use touchpads on a laptop, I feel like I am disabled if I try to use it. I only use my mouse.
