I have W10 Pro 64b... nothing special... nothing else added
If something else is interfering I don't have a clue what is it because I have nothing other than the basics...
I am also intrigued by the issues given the fact that the laptop has standard config (more or less) is not a desktop that can have an immense range of configs (hardware wise).... I hope it's not something hardware... oh man...
I'll change the CCC to the .32 version (i have the .35 now)...other then that I can't do much else... I have nothing else to change... or disable... Maybe I can try and test the ram with Memtest86+... but that's about it...

No need for that. I do IT for a living...
When I installed the W10 took all the necessary steps to do it right... It can't be done any better...
I looked at your guide, thank you for that but I took all the steps that you took there and then some...
If nothing works probably I will look into an windows install but so far I don't see that it will solve my problems....
    I hope it's not hardware...

What you can do is take an image of your current install using Macrium Reflect and put it somewhere safe.

Then format and install the latest drivers as per my driver's thread. If it didn't solve the issue, then we know it is some hardware issue and you can simply restore the old image back

There isnt a CC version over .32 which works for windows 10. The .35 is only working for Windows 7 for now.

    @Phoenix
Thank you for the feedback !
First I will install CCC .32 and if it still gives me headaches I will run an install.
On the image front, I am way ahead, already did some images with acronis... for backup purposes ... i do this often... just in case a zero day vulnerability is exploited by a virus :)

    @bloodhawk
Thank you for the feedback !
There is something fishy with the CCC that I have installed...I hope that it is the culprit and installing .32 will solve my issue...

Does anyone know or use a laptop sleeve/cover for transporting it? I would be moving it a lot and would like some sort of protection against scratches/big dings if I can help it. Thanks all.

Thinking bout pulling the trigger for barebones 870dm with GTX 980 as I have other components on hand (minus laptop ram)

I was having problem with my Touchpad not re-enabling after I removed the USB mouse.

So I uninstalled the Clevo Control Center and now everything works fine. I don't need the CCC because I am fine with the stock Keyboard colors and I do all the overclocking with XTU and other 3rd party programs anyway.

Seems like there was a conflict with CCC and the Synaptics drivers, even using the latest/greatest drivers.

But, that just may be with my laptop. Seems like there is a lot of inconsistency with laptop issues.

I can't wait any longer, so I decided that I'm gonna take my chances and make a price inquiry at Dream Machines in Poland. Seems like the safest bet for us Europeans to buy a Prema powered machine close enough to home. I'd prefer a partner shop in Germany, France, the Netherlands or even the UK, but for some unexplicable reason none of the bigger shops seem to be interested in partnering up with Prema. Shame on you :)
I think you guys are missing out on some decent amount of business.

Anyhow, I have a couple of small questions.
    1) Why is it that I see most people buying the Windows 10 Pro version in stead of the Home edition. Any advantages that I seem to be missing here?
    2) I'm going for the 980m SLI configuration after much hesitation and the FHD screen, no 4K for me. I'm just wondering about SLI and G-sync these days... Anyone care to comment?
    3) I know, don't shoot me as this question has been asked quite some times, but recently it seems to go unanswered. Any 980 SLI in the pipeline? A less than 200W version of course. It was no, then yes/maybe again, last I read was that it was a matter of weeks but all of that is rumor. And now it has been awfully quiet again. So i'm about to give up the waiting game. Just wanna make sure I'm not missing out on anything here. Pascal is still quite far away so if there's no 980 SLI to be expected, then I'm done waiting.

    Hey folks,

I've been out for a while. I traveled and when I got back home I got ill. I'm just recovering now.

Then Today I finally got my hands on my long awaited Liquid Ultra.

I delided my CPU with it, put the lid back in place, and also applied it on both GPUs and on the CPU lid, spreading it on the recommended way.

But the I have a problem I don't know how to solve:

The liquid Ultra is VERY thin, And I just noticed the copper plate BARELY touches (almost don't touch at all) both GPUs AND the CPU. The IC Diamond that were there was very thick and could do the job, but with CLU, even if I mount the cooler copper plates and the remove it I can see it almost didn't touched the CLU I spread on the GPU/CPU.

In theory it should touch the chips regardless of the thermal paste.

My temps, of course are terrible (starnge enough, its ok in one GPU and terrible on the other and also terrible on the CPU).

I ordered another tube of CLU to increase the ammount of it and try to improve contact, but I don't think this is the best solution.

Anyone have any ideia on how to "lower" the copper plates of the coolers to improve its contacts on the chips?

    Thank you very much!

Well based on my personal experience, you also need to put clu on the heatsink. One tube is definitely not enough for the cpu and gpu :)

Even if you apply CLU on the heatsink, it won't matter as CLU only works, if contact is consistent. You can make a pic of your CLU pastejob to indicate there's a Problem with your heatsink and RMA it.

Otherwise you can change the contact behavior only by hardmodding it - removing the retaining rings or even replacing the spring-loaded screws with regular ones. The question remains, if you wanna do that? o_O

Hey all. Having another issue with the laptop. There is some kind of short freezing/stutter/lag going on. It only seems to occur at that windows desktop though. It's fine during games. I'm using the 4.2Ghz OC settings provided by @Phoenix. I'm also using a Razer Naga Epic Chroma. I mention the mouse, before I'm not sure at this point if it's the mouse cursor freezing, or something else. It happens for such a short time and randomly, that I haven't been able to swiftly try pressing any keyboard keys in that short time, to help determine if it's strictly mouse related, or not. I've already looked for new drivers, but Razer doesn't offer anything more then just a download of their Razer Synapse 2.0 software for it. I've tried even letting device manager search for an updated driver, but there is none. I've tried setting compatibility mode for Windows 7, for all running Razer software processes, even though I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, as it was a potential fix I found on Youtube, but no dice. I've also gone into Power Options & made sure to set the Hard Drive power option to never shut it off & I'm in High Performance power mode. Anyone else experiencing any random, but short freezing/stutter/lag when at desktop?

Some other things to consider are that I'm using 1 power brick (still waiting on my Y-Adapter from Mythlogic), I have 2 950 Pro 512GB in Raid 0 as boot drive & I have a 4TB span over 2 Samsung M9T 2TB 5400RPM HDDs.

    Specs:
    6700K @ 4.2GHz OC
    980m SLI
    16GB Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4-2400
    2x Samsung 950 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD (Raid-0)
    2x 2TB Samsung Spinpoint M9T 5400RPM HDD (4TB Spanned Drive)
Killer Doubleshot Pro x3 (software disabled though for now)
    1080p G-Sync display
    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
    Razer Naga Epic Chroma

Try disabling G-sync then seeing if it does it. I know it sucks to hear this, but it's most likely this

G-sync wont apply to the desktop anyway, but I guess it lets you disable it for specific games.

You could try running with a single stick, also uninstall programs like mouse drivers (with the device unplugged) one by one.

You can also try backing up your system and doing a clean install to check to see if it's a software issue.

I will be in a game.. and BOOM the PC reboots itself.. and when back on windows it will beep like 7 times (like a system beep almost) and then the computer will shut off and Ill have to boot it back up. What could this be??? Anyone know?

I would check that your fans are all spinning and your temperatures, it sounds like the ECU is shutting down the system due to a value (like fan speed) being out of acceptable range.

Connect the mouse to the USB port on the back near the power and remove any external USB HDDs and see if it solves the problem.

Goto the advanced power settings, and check what the setting is for "Turn off HDD". By default even for the High performance plugged in profile, its set to turn off after 1 min. This might be the issue, if you have a HDD trying to spin up.

yeah it's like someone complaining their car is pulling to the right when driving so you tell them go check your engine. Gsync has nothing to do with a moue lag. Period.

not really, a car pulling to the right means either the tires or the steering need balancing, the guy suggesting to check the engine means it has nothing to do with that certain issue. but whatever d00d. Let's agree to disagree. Adding you to my ignore list so please don't bother replying, mentioning me, quoting, anything I say.
