I believe that if they decided it is not worth to build anymore, it is on good reasons.
You can always pay someone yo build it up for you, if you are prepared to pay.
But really, how was that one portable, it looked like two P870 staked one over another. I mean it, I find it hard to believe there is still a market for it, given the power you can achieve with P870.
I for one, would probably take one, but I can see why people are scared of it![]()

It is on the reason that they over produced and under sold. It did alright, but not as expected and not as others did. Since then, heat sink design has increased and changed, as well as upcoming designs with new materials. The heatsink was the heaviest part of that machine and the reason it was so thick, which did turn some off. I will be realistic about that. Fiscally, it doesn't make sense to do it other than having enough Clevo die hards that want it (keeping your fan base/brand loyalists happy).
Meanwhile, the cost of designing, testing, etc., is better shoulders by a company planning to produce a certain mass. Yes, if I had unlimited funds, I could build it (or by the hardware to produce my own boards). The issue is, even if you want it for practical purposes as well, it could never be entered into overclocking competitions as it is too unique. It would be considered as unreleased hardware for the motherboard (I'd have to double check to confirm if that effects submitting cpu scores). Either way, this spreads those costs around.
Meanwhile, we are talking different classes of systems, quad channel ram over dual channel, a server processor with more cores versus a quad core max, newer better cooling, etc. With that said, there is a question whether it would be thinner with better cooling. Those that want to refresh their P570 will take it, as the P870 only is getting in the same ball park, making it a side grade, not an upgrade. That, when taking into account the extended upgrade interval for tick tock, which is all but abandoned, will allow for longer span before obsolescence. So long that mxm will be used during the duration, or that they adopt a new standard, people would want the extra benefits for those that have a need or desire. Considering people bring it up once in awhile on here, I finally found a more organized solution for the issue. Finally, if enough interest is there, after the design phase is complete, if ever Clevo had enough interest after the initial run, the could do limited runs over the next three to four years, allowing for more control on the process without having to eat as much cost or tie up funds in inventory or storage. That is why, if we, collectively, wanted it and did it in this fashion, this could be the best way/argument to achieve it.

There were production issues for a while with the P570WM which did not help (It was originally the P270WM) and the demand in some regions (especially the US) did not seem to be there.
The current models do get you pretty close and would fit even more if Intel was actually pressured into more cores on their mainstream platform. -
Hopefully with the Zen consumer 8-core smt chip, which may compare well with the Intel-E series, but uses the same socket as quad core chips, will put a fire in Intel to give at least a Six core mainstream chip...
But, considering changes between the P570WM release and now, without having a competitive alienware product and the closest being the P870DM, they may, hopefully, have a better market for it, as well as an equally long life cycle. But that is why I'm trying to figure a way to incentivize Clevo to, at minimum, do a limited run... Setting a minimum pre-order, set up as an all or nothing offering, is one way to accomplish this goal...

What does the drive look like under Disk Management?
Right click Computer icon, click Manage. Then select Disk Management from the list on the left. -

There's a little program I like to use to show, graphically, where are the data is being used on the drive. It's called WinDirStat. Would you mind downloading it, scan C: drive, then post a screenshot when it's done scanning?
Also, how much RAM do you have? Your systems page file will be somewhere in the range of 1.3x your RAM amount.
i.e. if you have 32 gb of ram, your page file could be in the neighborhood of 40gb. To save space you could manually set the page file to be smaller. -
OR disable file page.
I have none, and never been better XD -

And for that matter, you can disable the hiberfil.

There are certain key things that have to be in place for an AMD version:
1) Price, there needs to be a significant saving over intel per core.
2) Performance has to be in the same region
3) Power consumption of not only the CPU but the chipset as well. Low power idle modes too.
For marketing reasons they basically have to match one of those areas and beat intel in two of the others.ajc9988 likes this. -
Hey everybody, my machine finally arrived and so far things are looking pretty good.
@Phoenix I used your 4.2Ghz OC settings and the system appears to be stable thanks for sharing them with us. I just wanna make sure that the machine is performing up to its potential, so what temps should I be seeing on idle and what score should I expect from Firestrike?

Anyone know how long does eurocom/hidevolution have the exclusivity on prema's bios for P870DM?
-
No idea. But the list includes - Eurocom / HIDEvolution, Mythlogic, CEGHardcorecustom and a few more think.
No one knows to be honest , other than @Prema san -
thanks chronokiller sorted now

Glad to hear it. What was the verdict?
-
The problem with those shops are they charge literally an arm and a leg.
I prefer to buy from RJtech since they can sell a true "barebone" stock config on the laptops for much cheaper. But the inclusion of the prema bios is very disappointing, plus they don't sell the power supply bridge for 2x330. -
Hi guys, one question
I want to swap from ahci to raid without lose data, but when i start windows again i have bsod "inaccessible boot device"
I have windows 10, somebody have suggestion?
Thanks in advance

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You can do it, but it will require side loading some drivers and doing some registry edits.
-
me being dumbo, had multiple duplicate video files
-
There is some instruction to do it?
-
I suppose that is the "cost" of doing a true barebone. You are taking away some of the profit margin by buying less components.
I did what I call a no SSD/OS barebone since I had the drives I need already, but needed the CPU and memory. I know prices are different depending on your exact situation but it was higher price for me from RJtech than where I got mine. For the same price compared to Sager, and less than RJtech I got CLU on the CPU, higher speed ram, Prema BIOS and Prema VBIOS so it was a no brainer for me.
You have to decide what is most important to you. Yes we all love to save money, but for me I wanted the ability to solve my own issues (read as Prema BIOS & VBIOS) and a company I feel I can deal with on warranty issues. I believe that the Prema BIOS's are premium and can solve a bunch of issues and are worth paying extra for, even though in my case it did not cost me anything extra.
BTW the converter may be found cheapy online, I bought mine on Amazon from Eurocom for $45 but I see it is currently unavailable unfortunately. http://www.amazon.com/Clevo-Converter-300W-Adapters-Adapter/dp/B01AKBEQJ4 -

I've not done it on 10, try the instructions out there for 8, they show the registry entries. -
All set... @Prema is so awesome.
1TB M.2 (non-NVMe, pure Legacy BIOS, all MBR disks) RAID0 is set up in triple-boot with W7, w8.1 and W10 along with two 1TB SSD for data and game drives.Attached Files:

awesome sauce. you bought a new über beast right? I know you were stuck in an airplane for the past week or more like you were POTUS on a Doomsday Air Force One flight; the Fox-Rox-Box was waiting there like a present?

Yup, sure did. It was sitting in a box for a couple of days waiting for me to get home and open a can of whoop-ass on it. Still need to delid the CPU, repad the GPU and put Liquid Ultra on everything. I have a few days left to get it ready for my next business trip. Need to get a new backpack since I sold the Alienware Orion and Vindicator backpacks with the M18xR1 and M18xR2. I'm choking on the Everki Titan price, but will likely end up going with one of them.Papusan, Cass-Olé, TomJGX and 1 other person like this.

yes, best to cut ties with the Aliens & their gimmick franchise; George Lucas is a good role model for how to separate one's self from the umbilicus, & we also have Alexander the Great & the Gordian Knot where you simply go 'snip'. How & Why Fox 'did it' is of course closer to home & a bit more legendary.
Open that can & lay your righteous hands on it Brother Fox, & may your new socketed beast help slay the Alien Race & beat-back their uppity bga minions from terra firma. Let the Killing Spree begin. I'm in a hurry or I'd pen your new love-child a better birthday poem ... lol. -
Umm you can check with them, if they can do a price match. HIDEvolution gladly did it for me.Porter likes this.

Knowing that is the consensus among those that own them is the only thing luring me that direction. The price is too high, but I know you actually get what you pay for... which is becoming pretty rare these days.temp1147462323 likes this.

Ah, they do? That's good to know.
I'll see what I can muster during summer, ought to be enough for a 7700K and 1080Mx2 or 1080 desktop if they can pricematch.

Can you stack military discount on top of the pricematch/nbr member cuts?
-
I doubt it, i wasn't able to stack a student discount. But Military discounts may work differently. Just give them a call, Ted or Donald are very helpful people. I was busy talking to people looking for the best for over a week, and i talked to Ted for 5 mins and he hooked me up faster than any one else.Porter likes this.

Would be funny if you can stack student+military on top of pricematch and nbr member discount.
I'm qualified for both, so that's a good thing.
More importantly, we'll see how Pascal does on mobile. Still unsure on what to expect. -
