Among other tweaks, like e.g. sending TDP info to the OS without the need for a throttle slider, the v2 Prema Mod vBIOS (C1) are all based on a one year newer vBIOS than the original GTX9xxM (F1) Mods.![]()

I don't think so, if I did my bad... :/ The floppy file you mentioned I found and installed on an OEM USB drive and tried to boot from it but that didn't work out either since I was just trying to reset the SSDs rather than do a completely fresh/clean install (at least for my situation). I just used the Samsung data migration tool to clone my OS to one of the m.2 sata and then I formatted the two 2.5 SSD/HDD 1TB drives and then raided them. The intel rapid storage file I later found that fixed it was an exe and was of a slightly different caliber so it didn't require the other steps you mentioned, that's what I meant...
As for the 950 pros, I don't think I want to raid them, at least not yet. I'm using one for the OS and the other for my multimedia files. The raid will be for games until I upgrade to faster/higher capacity in the future.

Then go back and read all my lengthy posts I made earlier to each of your posts. I will no longer respond to any post you make as you don't listen and don't appreciate the time others have put to help you. Don't bother replying coz I won't see any future posts you make. -
I wasn't trying to be rude, and I already thanked you each time and followed your steps EXACTLY as you said. It just didn't help my situation since it was a little different in my case. So I had to keep looking on forums and exchanges beyond this one. I really couldn't have gotten any closer to a solution without being pushed in the right direction even if it wasn't exactly what I needed, that includes the aid you offered...
It was similar to the NVRAM situation I was experiencing where my prior phoenix died and I was running out of options. I tried everyone's advice but it didn't pan out perfectly so I had to keep researching. It doesn't mean I don't appreciate the help and didn't pay attention. Again, I'm sorry if I'm coming off as rude and unappreciative. I'm really not trying to downplay your help.
I can't say anymore other than that.

ok no problem in that case bro, guess I misunderstood you.
But if you remember, I told you that while in the Windows setup wizard, you had to load the IRST Driver? then the drives would magically appear? you did the same thing by installing IRST later on saying you managed to solve it. That was my gripe as I did mention that step.
You see, if the m.2 SSDs were previously setup as a RAID Array, then they won't appear neither in Windows nor in the Windows Setup before the IRST driver is manually loaded by clicking "Load Driver" then browsing to the floppy based IRST driver which is the same driver but only contains the INF files and not the actual setup.exe file
anyway, I'm glad you got it solved now.

Stay away from 361.43 driver, it is only good until you make the first full reboot (not a W10-ish resume from standby) after that it tends to crash the system.
The last stable driver is 359.06...Last edited: Dec 23, 2015ajc9988, TomJGX, Chrack and 1 other person like this. -

Strange, 361.43 is the best driver for the 980M that I have used so far, no high GPU clocks at idle, no bugs, just works perfectly with decent performance. It is great because it wasn't just a game ready driver for some game, but was a fully updated driver by nCrapia clowns
never had a single crash, people who face this usually didn't remove the older driver and all its remnants using DDU. To each his own but this is the best driver so far for me since the plethora of crappy drivers released lately by nVIDIALast edited by a moderator: Dec 23, 2015hmscott likes this. -
Do you use stock vbios?
-
My own system is all modded and I can't replicate the driver problems, but my inbox is full of mod and stock user reporting system crashes with 361.43 driver on all kind of Notebook models after the first full power cycle.
(W10 default is standby, not shutdown).Last edited: Dec 23, 2015GTVEVO likes this. -
What system are you running now?
-
Yeah I had to reverted after some weird issues with aspect scaling which turns out to be some wrong settings in the control panel. Also Prema, how do I access your signature? -
Click on it?!
(You may have to enable to view signatures in the Forum settings).

So woah, I remember using bootable flash drives back in the day of unlocking shaders and using nvflash yourself to flash unlocked bios for 780/780 tis. Now it is just a simple bat file? You spoil us too much prema!.
LOL!!!! 22.4k graphic score with no voltage boost(yet). +220 core/+430mem.

I will play with a bit of voltage later tonight or something. Also firestrike is on sale right now on steam sales. 80% off.Last edited: Dec 23, 2015ajc9988, CaerCadarn, GTVEVO and 1 other person like this. -
Ha ha ha, yeah...LOL! I guess bashing is just not my style
To my defense, I travel a lot and needed something portable also I couldn't afford anything new ever since...though still have a P170HM3 around that needs some heat-gun love.
EDIT:
BTW, the amount of hex you can fit on WQHD is insane, I could never go back to mod on FHD.Last edited: Dec 23, 2015 -

yes stock VBIOS, do you want my VBIOS Dump? -
Is there a way to downvolt gtx980 (not M), stock vbios? Now it is 1.13v under load.
-
Thanks, but I saved my vbios before flashing. But maybe the newest nvidia driver doesn´t play nice with the modded vbios? However, Prema says people with stock are also affected.
By the way, is there a service manual for P870DM somewhere to download? -
Yes in the clevo website it's there

didn't mess up my system at all, this latest driver was the best *in my experience* out of all the recent garbage drivers for the 980M/980 GTX
Here is the manual:

Thanks man, but that´s the user manual. For the Batman there existed a service manual where you could find instructions to disassemble the unit completely. I possibly have to remove my mainboard to be able to use the delidded cpu without the heat spreader.
-
I know what you mean. im always on a WQHD when editing.ajc9988 likes this.

I wonder what is the MSRP on that. And how much of that is for the WC unit. -
I feel like the phoenix have an incredible price vs performance ratio compared with normal gaming laptops or even m-itx desktops. Its insane that I calculated the price vs performance ratio of my phoenix vs a m-itx build with titan x/ 980 ti KINGPIN that I looking into, and I didnt pay much premium at all.
-
Anyone has a P870DM with them that they can post a picture. I want to see how the keyboard look in compare with the chasis.. ( Looking for an actual 17 inch chassis picture if someone has one please. Thanks a lot. )

Try these locations for the service manual;

So yeah, I just went over the power limit on my 980m by overclocking and had to replug in the charger/PSU. That was..... interesting. Was wondering why my second gpu was stuck at P1 clocks and why my laptop isnt charging. At least I dont burn PSUs.
Edit: Ok, now my default clevo fan profile goes to the maximum when the temp are completely normal and more or less refuse to be slowed down. I scanned the temp of GPU/CPU?PCH and all look extremely normal. I tried reinstalling clevo control centre, what is going on here?Last edited: Dec 24, 2015 -
You Might want to set defaults in the bios or cause a system reset by making it crash and reset the bios and ec.
Then check the control center afterwards.

Ehe, how can I flash back the original BIOS. I did save a copy via GPU Z.
-
Vbios? Just flash it the same way you flashed the new. Just update your bat with your old file name and make sure it's in the Directory.
Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk -
Right, I will just change the name of the old vbios to the modded one. That should work.....
I am not sure how to set my fan profile to default in bios though. -
You can't in the stock machine bios. You will have to make it crash or do the reset process. Should be in the manual, I have never looked it up.
In the past I have forced a crash in xtu. Never seen an erratic fan issue though.

So crank the voltage/crank up clock. Got it.
Edit: Did that and reflash to stock BIOS. Nothing.
Or Maybe I need to get my hearing checked. It might just be this loud at stock, I cant remember since I almost never ran the default fan profile and just max it.Last edited: Dec 24, 2015 -
Guess i didnt make myself clear. I dont want to see it in the manual... Or how it looks how they present it. I want an actual customer who has a 17inch one to take a picture which shows the keyboard. Thats all, not much to ask IMHO.
-
Has anyone noticed any vibration noises when the speakers are loud?
-
finally, this would go well with P870DM.
