    Not soon enough, right?

Here's my normal bit: Some things are still under NDA, including the actual date at this point. There's been a few dates that have been tossed around the forum so far though.

Ah, so one of the dates folks are tossing around the forums for a Pascal mobile announcement is probably spot on. Well at least we all know it's not August 3 anymore :p

Of course now comes the deliberation.....do I sell mine and wait for the refresh or hold onto it and ride the storm. I'm blessed to have a perfectly working unit from top to bottom @ 4.5 and has given me zero problems and tons of WoW/Diablo3/VMWare love, but as long as the 10X0 cards can be made to work in it, I'm good to go......

    .....but still. ;)

I have the power converter and dual PSU. Also NvMe SSD, HyperX RAM, I7-6700K(will canibalize from my P750DM),
I will opt for the cheapest config except for the dual GTX 1080. (i5, No ram, hdd, single psu, etc)
I don't see why it is not possible :p :p
My only concern is 4K screen (they charged additional 600$ in P870DM wth)
So yeah, i would go for 3500$ for cheapest P870DM2 with 4K screen and Dual Gtx 1080
Then at home, i will put all the pieces together :p

if there's no sli then a single card is still in for a shot of being workable.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here for a minute....
A single card looks to be able to fit. The problem will be powering on the card. Take a real good look at the connectors that power on each card. Now, 1 of 2 things may need to happen first. 1: they come with a different version of the card with smaller power cable. Or 2: You have to somehow mod a cable to work..... Just my speculation from looking at the picture.

Maybe, if you cut it and get a new connector for the tip and solder on the second connector for the board. If I remember correctly, not all boards came with the second plug. And that's provided it's wired exactly the same on the board....Speculation of course.

Yes, so SLI wont work, but single should fit(Working is a whole nother matter), with the correct heat sink. Hard to tell about the original one working.

but the p870dm pascal power connector is not 4 pin anymore, it's more than 4 pin

so we must also buy the power connector alongside the 1080M for install in p870dm maxwell?

    that's a shame :(

i am already disappointed that there's a chance it won't be upgrade-able and that was the whole reason of going to clevo.

Prema mentioned that current DM owners will be able to upgrade their machines to a certain degree. Don't know which ones, though)

But, it's also possible that the cards on the picture are full gtx 1080 and gtx 1070 might not require power connector at all and will be sli capable in the original P870DM as well. Again, pure speculation here.

There have been a few reviews on the web about Nvidia HB bridge for new desktop cards. And the difference between standart and HB bridge is quite significat. Wonder if it affects mobile cards as well.

IIRC the HB sli is only relevant at 4K60 but I might be wrong.
