Thanks to @ViktorV for pointing out that the .efi BIOS archives provided by Clevo actually does contain a complete dump of the BIOS file. It's as simple as renaming it to .BIN to get it to work with the programmer. Also, good news, my dear laptop is back alive!

@4W4K3 I outlined my procedure here http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...s-now-supported.825558/page-254#post-11116573, as just programming the chip with a new BIOS wasn't the full solution. I'm not quite sure what was, but please let me know when you try to bring your machine back to life and I'll help out any way I can!

    @Meaker@Sager

Hey all, back after a long absence.

I need to turn back my laptop automatically after a power cut, i can't seem to find the option in the bios. I have a SCO17E19 from Scheneker (bestware).

If anyone can point me to the right direction to achieve this

First of all thank you. My antivirus is flagging this as virus but given the way it works, maybe that's normal.

also, in ALL those settings i couldn't find a poweron after power outtage option that i could find on almost all my pcs before.

    any help ?

Having some sort of power on over network might do better? These are not designed really for the kind of environment you are talking about.

Hi, my PB51EF from two years ago does not seem to charge anymore. It works when plugged in but the battery never charges from 0%. Does this mean the battery needs to be replaced? If so, should I go through my vendor or is there somewhere else I can order the battery from? Thanks.

    -REMOVED-

Further testing proved my voltage observations were not repeatable. What worked one day, didn't work the next. I blame the OS haha

Have you tried Fn+D at boot? It defaults all the bios entries.

When I input wrong timings on my laptop, I just have to wait 2-3 minutes on boot without pressing anything, black screen, no blinking, and it will automatically reset itself.

Unfortunately I hard bricked while overclocking the memory and the laptop no longer recognized any hardware. I was able to Fn + D several times previously when overclocking memory with no issue and it rebooted after 3 attempts with a CMOS reset message. But the final time it failed it acted very differently. No SSD, No RAM, No USB, No GPU, No screen, No keyboard or mouse. FN + D didn't have an effect because the keyboard was no longer operational. I tried CMOS reset/NVRAM reset for several weeks with no success. Other keyboards, different RAM, different SSD, no luck.
Eventually, the fix was reflashing the BIOS chip manually with CH341a programmer and a newer BIOS version. It then booted right up, no issues.
I saved the original BIOS dump, I am almost positive it is corrupted with many "ffffff" entries.

Sometimes a stick with a different speed can help jolt it back.

Good to know for future bricks :biglaugh: I unfortunately was stuck with 3 laptops that all used PC2666. Looking back, I could have maybe bought and returned some other speed as a fix. Glad for the experience of reading/writing the BIOS with a programmer though. Previously I've edited/flashed firmware to 3D printers but this was my first laptop.

Should all be pretty similar if you are working with an 8 pin SOP bios chip :)
