Sorry dude been busy in the last period and totally forgot about the laptop, it's still catching dust on top of some drawers...
Clevo tw doesn't have a spare motherboard (how is it even possible??)

A couple of pictures to shot the socket condition..

Would a socket in this state prevent the laptop to boot at all???
It's absolutely dead, no fans spinning, no video signal...

Components are pretty hard to come by at the moment.

Yes a socket in that state would cause a lot of issues. Does it react to power with no chip inserted?

Hi, doesn't really react to power... The only thing I manage to obtain is the cpu fan to spin if I press the power button for 10+ seconds...
I've dismantled the laptop, I'm going to attempt to change the CPU socket myself.
Got tools and saw a video on Youtube, gonna give it a go :D

alright my research is done, you can use egpu on w650kk1

    I tested with R43SL (from ADT-link)

gpu-z recognized the gpu with pcie x 16 @ x16 1.1 / also includes bandwidth ,texture ,memory type ,etc..

however, I tested it with 'faulty' gtx 690 so I need to test it furthermore

Does anyone have an idea where I can get a mainboard for the W650KK1? It can also be a structurally identical mainboard with a somewhat inferior GPU, e.g. the W650KL and W650KJ1 ... No matter where I look, somehow you can't buy one.

The GTX1050Ti has said goodbye to mine (blue screen / crash after driver installation. After a reflow, the device does not turn on ... Power LED lights up briefly and goes off again. The battery LED lights up when charging ...

you can message the seller (Eluktronic) and ask them for motherboard replacement if not then ask local computer store, they can do check up and fix it for you

That's an interesting device to get working, got a plan for using it? Or is it just to see if you can get it working?

both, I managed to get it to work, you just only need to have "decode above 4G"(which is w650kk1 does support it) to turn on, currently, I planning to use it but due to it using passive heatsink while having 300w as tdp (150w consume at idle), it overheated and auto-shutdown, so right now I'm planning to apply some ventilations on it.

apparently, 1 fan isn't enough (although it extends to 5 mins, so there is some improvements) so I continue to apply another side as well

Yeah you probably need a higher pressure fan, like a delta server fan.

    I have return
anyhow I replace the old adapter (because I accidentally broke it) with a new one (r43sg from ADT)
the new one provides more reliability since it can control PSU power consumption also with automated switches.
I also add another fan for cooling
    this is the current temp:

Does anybody have a suggestion for a screen replacement? It doesn't have to be a 120 hz panel, but proper brightness control would be nice. I've read that LP156WFS would be the original panel, but they don't seem to be sold anymore.

You can double check your panel by either checking the label on the back of the panel or using the hardware ID to track it down or a software tool like hwinfo.
