Im at the point with this thing i just want to get rid of it. The problems with this machine is too much and i think i been taken advantage of. Just the issues with the bios alone should be enough for a recall. Just enabling a feature that they offer causes instabiltity even if you dont change anything. rant starting 4000 dollars for a piece of garbage in my opinion thats going to get discontinued any day now Rant over . How can i get rid of this thing and salvage some of my money and take little loss on it ?

Its weird so far when i play Rainbow six seige i get a Blue screen. I have played alot of hours of Vanguard and havent had any FPS drops but actually at 1080p get alot of fps the machine shut off couple times one time i had to remove the battery. Dirt 5 and Cyberpunk both get this weird FPS drop were the usage drops but the clocks and watts do not. No other games have this happened. Reinstalled Windwos and graphics drivers still nothing. I have never had a issue playing BF2042 other then the issues the game already has. The other thing that is kidna weird is when i got my laptop back from HID i didnt have any issues with fps drops and artifacts other then to crashes and shut downs which never happend before( turning overclocking off solved this ) The second i plug either a Mini display x display or USB C x Display this is where my issues start . But the issues did happen when not plugged in. Is using a External moniitor breaking my Notebook ?

Its not unheard of Thunderbolt/USB docks to cause issues with system stability or shutting down systems however its easy to test rather then using DP or USB-C try HDMI (Its what I use for my second display).

However you need to ask HID if they was able to reproduce the fault in question, if they ha e replaced the GPU and your having the issues still then its either main board related or ram related.

Do you remember the BSOD output error code?

Heads up everyone, You know i was wondering why my RAM was running at 2666MT/s in the slots under the keyboard i think i know why now. It seems them slots might be capped for them speeds as placing them into the bottom slots my RAM is now running at 2933MT/s.

Also ram is 20c cooler in bottom slot as well.

Install WhoCrashed then once you get a BSOD run that app it should tell you which file caused the issue thus limiting the scope of where the issue could be.

Right a few things bud, firstly you might what to edit video to remove the audio to save yourself from a DCMA strike.

Secondly I do see what you mean, the temps alone on the GPU being so low is a red flag.

I could see the rivatuner stats fully are you able to set it to log in MSI afterburner please and also hwinfo as well so I can load them in anlogger to see what the issue is, I do see the frame rate stutters in there and it might be a windows setting that could help but need logs to see what's going on with frame times etc.

Also what is you power plan set to?

Its set to performance in nvidia control. All problems start when i start plugging into a external monitor. The thing was good for few months with no isses running on laptop screen. It there something left over from after you plug in the screen ?

There shouldn't be, how have you set Windows to handle second screen? Is it using the full speed of the screen, is window set to project to it as Extended or Duplicated. If so try setting Windows back to single screen and recheck again after doing that and unplugging the 2nd screen.

    Also its important ot mention
THis happened with other set of ram
    happens on bother NVME drives
GPU has been swapped according to HID
Happens on both screens but when i un plub the external screen the laptop trys to duplicate the external screen the bets it can which leads me to beleive there is some config error going on. I literally played vanguard and BF 2042 for at least 1 hour back to back with no issue on my 3440x1440 monitor
Issues also happend with another monitor
Clean installed windows and GPU drivers Using DDU alreasdy done

Strange are you using 2x or 4x Ram arrangement ?
Also which NVME drives you using as i am using only 2 at the moment without issues on mine.

As i said get MSI After buner and HWInfo to log to a file, run the games your having issues then send me a link to them files and see if we can see whats going on from it, use WhoCrashed for BSOD's knowing what file or process that cause the BSOD will help pin point the issue quicker.

2 sticks under the back cover
    Samsung drives

I downloaded whocrashed and will do that at some point today i think thats a seperate issues.

Also i cleared all unplugged devices using driver booster and un plugged my monitor and im just going to use the internal screen to see if it happens again. It so weird because when i got my laptop back on around november i havent had a single fps drop since i plugged it in the other day

    My feelings at the moment

@hacktrix2006 I suspect a issue with external monitor being plugged in i havent had a issue since i completely disconnect my monitor. As for the Artifacts in vanguard others are showing videos of the same thing it seems that game has alot of bugs like most games nowadays.

Hi, is 2500 Euro a good price for an XMG Ultra 17(X170KM-G) with RTX 3080, I9-11900k, 32GB RAM 3200, Full HD 300Hz Display?

I think it is. Is it used ? If it used you have no recoarse if it breaks other then paying to have it fix the GPU goes for 2000 us dollars alone

With that being said i dont think its a good deal because of how cheap they are selling makes me nervous. I honestly would go with something else if you ask me. My biggest thing with this thing is the Reseller in my country doesnt know anything about this machine so there support is limited. I cant speak for XMG because i never dealt with them. Yea the price is great but even used i think you could get 3500 dollars all day long with those specs so why is he selling it for 2800 usa ( 2500 Euro ). I would just do my research with the seller and becareful. This thing has alot of bugs with bios and other things. I dont mean to be a pessimist but i wanted to love this thing but i think telling anyone how i feel about it and what i think providing facts about the machine is the most helpful rather then blowing smoke up your tail pipe

The cheap price is that the owner of the machine died and his friend sell it for the family. That’s the only reason. I got many XMG devices before. Also an Apex 15 which was dead and I bought it without any bill or guarantee card. But I got a new one back only because of the serial number which says 3 months guarantee left. So I‘m happy with XMG.
Do you have an X170KM too?

Heads up, remember I had a soft brick with Fan control software being suspected causing the shutdown. Well its confirmed as I installed Linux and used tuxedo's control center which worked fine before but it did the same. So going to try with EC firmware downgraded from 1.07.04 to 1.07.03.
