Try pulling your memory pieces one at a time. It sounds like it could be a bad piece of memory.

Sound advice that a lot of us like to pass along and we really can't emphasize enough the importance of keeping your heatsinks and fans clear of dust and dirt. :D

Is this confirmed with the 9262? I have never heard about this on the 9262, I just had a hunch.

Yup, I do it every 30 days also...although mine idles in the 50c range. I actually have a outlook reminder go off every 30 days to clean all my laptops. Also, I annually re-paste all my systems, cpu and gpu(s). I look at it just like changing my oil, or rotating tires on my vehicles....

    what TIM are you using
    im using IC Daimond
when you are doing it so often then you dont need to think about the loong term thermal abilitys and the best for this what i have heard is the white ver of arctic

You can but with IC Diamond you dont need to realy since its a loong term TIM
i end up doing it every now and then is becouse i am modding the cooling to find the sweet spot of 37 to 39c at idle with 20c ambient
but if you are sett to do the repaste at certen date you can go for the short term TIM like the arctic white one dont remember the name but its white it got lower temps but couldent give it for the same amount of time as the much better and more expecive ICD the info was on a simulated 6 month test ICD was 2c hotter but lasted and was predicted to last same temp up to 2 years while the Arctic also lasted the test but was predicted to last with some degredation maximum 14months i will se if i can find i link i was reading this around october last year on a swedish site .

yup i miss understod i was thinking jesus you are puting down some money on the tim
by the way im getting a 990x soon since they are supose to run cooler then the 980x or just cooler then my 980x
    got idle 45 to 52c
got 56 to 62c surfing and watching streeming movies
    running Battlefiel 3 ca 69 to 75c
this is with ICD and i even lapped the CPU and Heatzink
and im using the Cryo lx laptop cooler
i wish it was a possibility to set your own fan curvs on cpu
    that could help as well
im on my way to do a new modd on my cooling when the 990x comes
some it will give higher contact pressure with out a chims

the 680m is not out yet so but it should be supported after a bios update from clevo and sager
since it was going to be released with MXM 3.1 but it is back compatible with MXM 3.0

to be honest i think we will get more updates it only a couple of strings of code to ad in the bios to give the support for 680m(gk104 or gk106) and or the 780m(gk100 or gk110) when it comes

Honestly, I paid a local comp company to do it because if THEY screwed it up, they would pay for it and a new comp if needed :)

I upgraded from 12, and works great. I run multiple VM's at once for work, and with Vmware Workstation8 I can load most of them directly into memory. Plus I use Disk Cache, Hybrid Disk Cache and RamDisk with 4G dedicated to cache. Works out quite wel.

hI got a mail back from Clevo saying that the 680m will be supported in there next platform and not on this one
little depresing news in my eyes but if enugh of us complain and a couple of retailers back us up hope fully we change ther minds how hard would it acctualy be to ad support for a new card in the bios and the ec ?
and make the heatzink to fit since the cards them selfs have a back conpatible connector
they only need to get the fastening down fittings to line up

DGDX when you get your p270wm
would you do me a favor and mezuring your 680m and heatzink just so i could do the same to see if the card would line up in a x7200 if the holes are the same they dont even need to do any modds from the p270 soo then it would just be software modd needed to get it to work
and hope fully we dont need to do a getto modd to the software like modding the DV id to get it to be reconissed and since its a hole new GPU (kepler) and not just updated Fermi arcitecture im not shore it would work

no problem, but p270's heatsink copper fin length is slightly shorter, so if put x7200's back cover/heatsink on p270 or p270 to x7200, the fan wont fit the fan vent...

I dont have that many spare SSD's or I wuld give it a shot. But, TBH, I dont think TRIM is supported yet on RAID, and it would probably be a waster IMHO. I popped in with some answers and my experiances.

No, TRIM is not supported in any RAID configuration. My guess is the long awaited RST update will only support TRIM over RAID-0 (and possibly RAID-1), and RAID-5 will be left in the dust.

In any case, as with any SSD RAID, you'd need to leave a system idle for a long period of time and hope each SSD's garbage collection routine kicks in, or periodically create a system image, secure erase all drives, and restore the image. Don't know how easily this works over RAID-5.

I am betting youre right re: Raid0 and raid1, raid5 is just a ton more complex. Even if I had the spars SSD's, and if TRIM was supported in RAID5, I doubt I would do it. it just seems like a huge waste.

As for imaging and restoring, I use Macrium reflect for my imag and backup solution. restoring a image to a single HD, raid0, raid1 or 5 is all the same. its simple.

On a side note, I am now in the market for some 1TB 7200 RPM drives for my system, newegg dosnt seem to have any 7200 RPM, all 5400, plus I am a tad concerned about heat if I go to 1TB and of course, will they fit.

Was just talking to some more people about the 7970m and the upcoming 680m they are as well saying that no bios support for the new cards will be done on this system .
if this is going to be it il prob blow a gasket in rage

i was thinking of buying the sli 680m if it was better then 7970m
keep my 485m's and then when i felt i hade enough money over to waste as my girl would call it i would buy the new p270 with out gpus and just order the cooling for the cards put the 485 back in to the np7280 and sell it but now when i se the short life span of support for these extreme laptops are i dont feel like i want to sponsor clevo with my money
im ranting sorry guys but if you feel the same wright some thing
and you retailer here it bad for you guys as well speek up pls

From what we're seeing elsewhere the AMD 7970 doesn't look like a BIOS update is req'd.

In regards to the 680m, who knows.

Regardless, no need to get in a huff (translate: angry) until the cards are released and we know what we're dealing with.
