i have seen the vid it looks as they are using the same heat zink
but i saw a couple of pics of the 680m es and it dont look like its the same screw config as the 485m's not 100% about the 580m
i know that the cooling betven 480m and 485m is difrent 485 is a rectangel formed gpu wile 480m is a square gpu and if the pic is real so is the 680m

dont worry, since eurocom is working on x7200 7970m cf, after 680m officially released, they will continue make 680m sli work on x7200.......
why? a long time delay of p270wm now, and no sign of p370, the clevo top sli machine still x7200 :)

that sound like some good news
the p370 i dont think that will be coming untill intel releases the ivy bridge X class CPU like it looks now ivy only have a quad k marked out no hex core with X class since no body knows if IB X is going to be same as SB X come with a new socket or not so its understadeble that they are waiting

There was a roumor that the p270 would be totally released from the shoke hold clevo normaly have and let you oc like it would be on a desktop doing it with in the UEFI bios you know bclk multiple and the lot hope fully its tru !!

i would think so specialy if you are using a 980x or 990x cpu or if you are thinking about Oc ing
in any case i would recomend to get a extra psu and the converter box

Man I wish it is compatible. I want to upgrade my cards. If x7200 is not upgradable, then I just feel bad I have to buy a new laptop again for new cards.

and now its only the 680m left to see and if that dont work i have to go with CF 7970m and that should give ca 12k+ in 3dmark11 performance setting
and 42k+ in vantage performance if the benches on the singel cards i have seen is right

Thinking about it but to be honest i just don't see the point i have no issue playing any games that i currently have and even though i got the money it is just hard for me to justify to purchase. Is this card even supported on our laptops without a bios update?

For the last month or so i have been having this issue with my processor multiplier bouncing all over the place. Even when i have the laptop set to high performance my processor is throttling like crazy. I don't know if it was an update from windows or what but i have never had this particular problem before. I did notice some new options in the advanced power management options but i have everything set to max. Yet i cant get the processor to just sit at the base 26X multiplier, even when i turn turbo boost off it continues to drop to as low as a 12x multiplier. Any suggestions?

    Hello guys
any news upon compatibility of 7970M on our X7200s ?
I saw a video over Eurocome that they installed 7970M in X7200....
I emailed them about 2-3 days ago but i didnt get any answer.
My local Reseller (In Australia) says they asked eurocome and they said its compatible and they offer upgrading 7970M CrossFire for x7200 !
i am still w8ting for the price but further more they have no information upon the BIOS and so on .....
Is that safe to purchase these cards !?!

Sager NP7282 freezes at BIOS password prompt
It doesn't do it all the time. It only happens after the computer has been shut off for some time. If I power it off and turn it back on sometimes it will work and sometimes freezes at password again. No problem if I go into BIOS to disable BIOS password. Other than that BIOS works fine.

    Anyone else have this issue?

It was reported by Eurocom it works just fine. I *thought* that someone from Sager also posted it should work.

HOWEVER, I don't think anyone's sat down and tried it other than some preliminary testing. If anyone has information to the contrary, please post it. Otherwise, Triangels, you may need to be that brave soul who gives it a try. :)

    thanks !
well i just got this email few seconds ago from Eurocom

Few days ago I emailed to Sager and what they answered me was that they only offer for HM series ( the one caused by petition) and in that email sager did not mention any word about x7200s. i tot thay might be because they want to advertise for the upcoming succesor or x7200s.
    ---------
My local reseller says they were in contact few days ago with other resellers ( i guess Eurocome ) and they have been told 7970M is fully supported on X7200s machines and it was tested before .... they only need to flash the BIOS to latest BIOS ....
but due to limited supply of this GPU they have no further information that it works properly generally or not ! " i guess it should if its supported"
im still w8ting for the price !
If i have any more information i I'll post it here ...
cuz i imagine there are many 6970M CF users like me that want to upgrade to 7970M CF
