What would encryption have to do with the processors? I thought it was data that was being encrypted...

Is this normal? Wear to 3% in a day? Anyone have similar readings on their laptops?

Perhaps the battery takes a few hours to calibrate properly. You are getting a new machine, you know...

Any issues, just talk to your reseller ;)

Hey guys. So now I have a new problem again. My laptop just refuses to power on since today morning. Without the cord plugged in, when I press the power button, the power/cord light flashes green twice and then nothing happens. When the power cord is plugged in, the power/cord led is orange, and the battery led is orange at first but turns green after a couple of minutes. Again, if i press the power switch, the power/cord led flashes green twice and turns orange again. What could be the problem? This is really frustrating.

The lights sound like they're the right color, but it also sounds like there's a power problem on boot. Try removing the battery and power adapter then pressing the power button to discharge. Put the battery back in and see if it boots.

If that doesn't do it, please contact us via the info in my sig and we'll take care of you :)

That no boot happened to me too, turned out to be bad RAM.

Try removing all but 1 dimm and start the machine.

There are 4 dimm slots. 2 below the keyboard, and 2 in the bottom. What you have to do to get to the dimms below the keyboard is watch this video.

How to access the other 2 Dimms.

Well i google it and saw the same page like u linked but gpu-z shows memory speed 625 while notebookcheck says 1250 :) And on ultra settings 1650x 1080 fps in wow is droping to 20 sometimes. Thats why im asking if there is something wrong with these values. Thanks for reply :)

Note that the memory is DDR, which stands for dual data rate. 625 x 2 = 1250, so you're good to go :) (I always do this too, and think for a second that my memory is clocked WAY too low :p)

The hardest part of waiting for a new sager is the wait itself. :D. I'm waiting on my SSD-loaded Sager and i'm DYING to play NFS Shift 2 on it. Especially considering my best friend bought one 2 mths ago and he can't stop playing BC2 with his. How do you guys wait for the tracking # without going nuts?!

Hey I just received my 8130 today, bought it from reflexnotebooks and after my install of windows 7 I noticed that the brightness was flickering as I watched jackie chan adventures with it unplugged.

After playing with the brightness settings so that both plugged in and unplugged it would stay at 100% brightness it still had the brightness picture in the top left corner appearing and disappearing rapidly. Upon further inspection I realized that despite nothing at all being plugged into it the battery icon in the corner was switching from unplugged to plugged in and each time it did so the brightness notification was displaying.

Now sometimes it just says it's plugged in, sometimes normal, sometimes it switches between the two rapidly. When plugged in everything works as normal.

So I was wondering if this is a problem with the battery, and if letting it drain and then charging it fully would be best? I'm worried it's a problem with the DC or w/e being poorly soldered to the motherboard, as this was the closest information the internet had for me when I googled the problem. Has anyone else had this problem, and is it possible to fix without having to pay for shipping to get my brand new faulty laptop fixed? Thank you very much for answering if you do!

You can try discharging it, but it sounds like either a faulty battery or power regulator on the motherboard. I'd contact your reseller about it to see if they can help you out :)

I am getting my laptop back tomorrow (hopefully) from Sager because they replaced a faulty motherboard. My laptop would not turn on, just the lights blinking on the front, etc. Am a bit nervous about it happening again...I have only had it a few months. What exact motherboard does the NP8130 have by the way? And is there a way to help avoid problems with the motherboard dying?

Sager has addressed this sort of thing. You should be fine with your new motherboad.

When you ship thousands of these motherboards in the 8130, 8150 or the P151HM1 or P150HM models a few can become defective.

It is a numbers situation. The odds of getting a bad display for example, is more common than getting a defective motherboard. :)

I had it running for 10 min and suddenly freezes and I do a hard reboot and it no longer powers up AGAIN! Little blinking light at the power indicator, etc. But nothing...not a wimper, whirl or anything. That is f-ed up.

Have a call into tech support. Argh.... :'(

I would take out one of the SODIMMS and then the battery (its behind the keyboard) put the battery back in, leave the SODIMM Out see what happens. If that doesn't work try removing the other SODIMM and then put the first one back in and see if it boots up. If no to both and you reset the battery, then yea bad mobo

Thank you! Did get a bit of progress! Well I removed and replaced the battery inside and then moved the RAM to the bottom of the computer and now I get power and the power light, BT light and some fan action. But nothing on the screen...totally black. The Sager folks are not as helpful as I would like (eg. send it in). Any more thoughts?

Right boot it up with only ONE SODIMM at a time and see if that gets it to kick on... One or both DIMM's might have crapped out.

Well...I now put the RAM back where it original place and BAM. It started up.

So really....SAGER replaced the motherboard and they could have just reset the CMOS and it is fine? 2 week I didn't have my laptop. Glad I tried this out before sending it back in again. BTW, on a mac there is a special key command one can invoke to reset the PRAM. Is this possible on Windows machines?

    You have some corrupt NVRAM.

Here is what you do, Hold down FN+B turn on the laptop, wait for the HDD light to turn on solid, then turn off and flash rapidly after it flashes, let it go and the BIOS screen should pop right up (It should stay black with those two keys held down). If it doesn't give you those lights, then you may have to try turning on the laptop then immediately hitting FN+B, or if it never gives you those lights then I'll bet the laptop doesn't post either :p

Yessir! My first instinct was to reset the NVRAM but didn't know how and I just wanted it fixed. But when the same thing happened again, I REALLY could not wait another week to get repaired so yeah tried the RAM thing and then removed the battery when that didn't do anything and then it worked.

I did a search on this thread for ubuntu and linux and came up with nothing! Something must not be working right. Anyways...I've been using linux for 13 years and want to have a nicely working linux setup (using Ubuntu since things seemingly work out of the box) Anyone have any suggestions of things to install to make it work better? It seems slow.

I just got my 8130 Monday and it's looks amazing, expect for 2 scratches that I found on the top cover. Hopefully I can find a fix for that.

The webcam seems to make everything colorless. Even with Hue turned all the way up, everything is still bland. I think it's something to do with the white balance however that setting is locked in the camera program. I've made sure that the drivers are up to date. Do anyone know a fix? Thanks.

Besides these two gripes, I'm very happy with my new laptop.

We do know that the onboard web cam in this model and the P150HM - NP8150 is not that good in comparison to others on the market.

If you are one that uses the web cam, especially on a regular basis, I recommend one of the USB versions that clips on the lid.

I know one may not like the looks of that but they do an excellent job! :)

Average CPU temps should be 50C or less and GPU should be 80C or less under full load. Idle temps are usually 35C and 55C respectively (give or take). The machine itself shouldn't get hot on the exterior at all.

Hi, I've been lurking around here for awhile trying to decide what computer to buy. I've pretty much decided on a sager, but I can't decide between the np8150 and the np8130.

I'm planning on keeping my new laptop for 3+ years. So my question is, how long will the 560 in the np8130 be able to play the latest games? I know it's probably a hard question to answer, but does anyone have any best guesses?

why not go for the upgraded GPU?

Well, I'd like to get the np8150 with the 6990, but it's at the upper limit of the budget I've set myself, so if I can get the np8130 I'd save myself some money. I just don't know if the np8130 will stay relevant for 3+ years. Maybe I should just suck it up and get the np8150.

I would have recommended the 8130,

but if you are looking at 3+ years of gaming and proofing,

    I wouldn't stick with the 8130 with the 560m...

Otherwise, for a budget gaming laptop, the 8130 is a solid choice.
