I like that spirit, you are cool :)
I was also thinking of getting this machine, but ended up ordering Alienware 17R4 and returned it before even opening the box (when I saw posts of how incomplete heatsink mounting is done).
So here I am again looking into this machine again, and if cooling is worse then previous models I gotta shed a tear and move away :'(

The chips design really is quite simple. The TDP is simply a target power so if you use the CPU at full pelt on 6 cores it will reduce frequencies at stock settings.

From the rumors... 8th gen H mobile i9-8850HK will get 4.3GHz on all 6 cores. <If> this is correct and OEM use max out 65W due cTDP... What can be expected clockspeed when you run Cinebench R15? From what I have read, will a default 8700K need +-112w for the task. I know it is difficult to answer correct on this, but with this gen Mobile will we finally see Mobile processors who cant maintain max Turbo Boost on all 6 cores in this benchmark.

The obvious thing to do would be look at the non-boosted by BIOS 8700 (note that some z370 boards unlock the TDP and max the multi by default) scores.

though ctdp rumor to be 65w in reality theres a chance intel might not lock it at all, or OEM/ODM might allow more than that in bios. laptops like ASUS water cooling laptop, MSI GT83vr and Acer 21x will probably allow more, but of course people will need to pay easily $2000-$3000 more.

also i got a decent cpu, with default ac/dc loadline i do 4.9ghz 6 cores at around 115w to 120w. i can purposely increase voltage to get more wattage but after around 118w i stop getting higher score.

Cold you lock down processor to 65W and test with stock voltage in Cinebench R15? Do the same second time but with 100mv undervolt. Follow clocks. Thanks

4.9ghz 0mv 65w means BGA@38X all 6 cores out of the box. And 4.9ghz -100mv 65w means 40x with a normal undervolt. If some ODM/OEM's is strickt with firmware and follow Intel's advices for 8th gen H Mobile (45/65w cTDP).

i see. im sure they prob can hit over 65w. usually they mention a TDP but generally it'll allow turbo boost for several seconds possibly even 2-3 minutes before going back to cTDP limit. so 4.3 x6 cores seems possible. of course higher the overclock, the quicker it goes back to that cTDP.

Aka overclocked but with same default Turbo Boost :D Don't forget it will run hotter in thinner chassis. Means you probably will need higher voltage on top than if the BGA chips is put in a much thicker chassis like P870TM. Oh'well
How much Cpu package power is needed for 4.3GHz all 6 cores and stock voltage in Wprime 1024M. Run it tvice. +rep added beforhand. Thanks

4.3ghz all core turbo offset 0mv is around 88-89w usage at peak.
4.3ghz all core turbo offset -80mv is around 76w at peak

unless they get heavier half way through the test, i cancelled both of them after testing for about a minute

Yeah, 5-10c less heat. With lid it would be nasty in thin and flimsy. Chassis size matters for cooling.
Thanks, bruh. The Q is... Will the OEM's let you get 88-89w usage in models with Big boy BGA.

Yesterday, i'm tried to install 8600K in my 775TM1. And after it boots, G-Sync is became available in Nvidia Panel. So, there is no license for i3 CPU for G-Sync support, just confirmed that.

Opolar LC05 Laptop Cooler with Vacuum Fan
    https://www.amazon.com/LC05-Cooling-Auto-Temp-Detection-Compatible/dp/B00XKU47Y2

This is an exhaust fan and I have two of these on the back. Was using these with my ASUS ROG G701VI and now with the P775TM-1. You can leave it on auto as it detects temperature and adjusts the fan speed itself or you can manually use the 13 speed adjustments. Very powerful and very good.

Hey guys. Just bought a p775tm1 with a 1060. I am trading that 1060 for a 1080 plus $400. I am a little worried after reading some posts on here. I bought the system from rjtech and it is only offered in one model number the tm1. My fear is that it will not boot with the new 1080.

On top of all that i also bought an 8700k and i will be delidding it as well but considering the concerns everyone is having i am nervous to say the least. I bought it with a gsync panel and i plan to install a 3k screen i bought for a failed 17r1 mod so i am not worried about gsync. I am worried about a failure to boot after gpu replacement. Thanks for any insights guys.

Where can I find clevo bios for the P775TM1? I know there’s a thread but isn’t up to date, is taking me to clevo drivers, but there’s no Bios driver there.
By the way, I’m installing programs now, and for now, 0 noise, and temps seem good, I plug it in on my PG278QR and it’s smooth like butter, and I have the 8700k with gtx1080, put my hand on the back, and the air temp was very fine

Very satisfied here so far, didn’t play nothing yet, but very satisfied

Guys I’m facing a problem here, I installed control center, all versions in clevo oficial site drivers, but with none of them the CPU OC option opens, any ideas? I also installed them one by one, uninstalling previous version, the wheel appears loading, but then nothing happens, what can I do?

    Thanks in advanced

Ok, so now that I´m set up, I notice a really great fan noise, it passes 40db, it´s impossible to play in my living room with more people watching tv. I looked everywhere for quiet fans for laptops, but the only thing that shows up are the stupid collers and some changes in the power options to lower the percentage in the "maximum CPU power management" option, I lower it to 60%, but the fans keep with the same amount of noise.......is there a way to change fans for quiet ones? where do I find quiet fans for notebooks? i looked everywhere but without success.....even floam was a possibility, this really needs a mod here....any ideas?
Sorry i forgot the "edit" option

The fans are louder than typical laptops.

I get my fans spinning up when using PS or Clip, but they stay within reasonable noise levels if I am not doing anything too hard.

@Prema 's magic is pure love on this lappy.

Oh yes, I do get very loud fans on Youtube sometimes, I think that there is something wrong with YT these days...

You don't find powerful laptops with near 200w graphics who manage 40db noise level or there around. And on top with near 100w Cpu.

Well....the notebook is awesome, it has lightning speed, but playing is unbearable where I am........I think it´s more the ar blow than it´s fans, i don´t know if some kind of floam could make the jobe here, but what floam and where to find it?.....it only appears industrial floam everywhere on google, nothing to notebooks.......if somehow there were silent fans on a sale for notebooks, i could buy some and replace them, but seems impossible to find either.........i could go for a tower with water cooler........but it´s way to expensive with these specs....it´s such a nice noteebook, it´s really a shame to be so loud...and it´s more than 40dB, actually is between 45 and 43dB...but, of course, i understand that this kind of power requires this kind of noise, i´m only asking if someone found a solution to this....

Silent fans don't exist, you have to move a certain amount of air and that movement itself causes noise.

I’m on my very small phone. But look into sub-threads for Clevo. Some managed to use another fan with a Mod for his P870 series Clevo (12v fans is needed). Check it out. I mean it could work for you as well.

I´m trying to find the best CCC custom speed fan in forums or Google, but nothing shows up.......so i put "Maximum Fan Speed" to 50%, and "Time that fan Starts" (i have this in Portuguese, it´s the first option) to 70º, now i´m playing Tomb Raider in "Ultimate", I noticed that the fan stopped throttling at a higher level, is more quiet now....the temp in the CCC is at a steady 55º, very impressive...... I ALT+TAB between the game to write this, the fan suddenly stopped after 30 seconds and the temp continues at a steady 55º, now it´s way better, I just hope that this endures for a long time...55º is an excellent temp with 20 tabs opened in edge, a game running in background and CCC open

Today I lifted the laptop 2 cm from the table and noticed that the GPU temperatures dropped by 5-6 degrees in the load. None of my laptops reacted that way to the stand. Apparently he needs a breath of fresh air. :D

I have none, i´m just trying to figure out a way to "solve" the problem, the right word is "minimize it", and it´s for the good of all the community, not only for me....i bet there are several people facing this problem and would like to "minimize it" a bit
As i posted, when i play with more people in the living room, i "custom" the CCC, i put the fan speed to 50%, and "Max Temp to trigger fan" at 70º.
This considerable low the noise when i play now, and the temps stay at a steady 50º, but if there is another way, like floam, or any other setting in CCC, i really appreciated to know about it

I’m having a trouble with my CCC, the gpu meter is completely stopped...I already install all CCC versions available on Clevo website, but none solves the problem, even before every installation I manually deleted de “SAmethimgl” folder on the registry with “regedit” só I can delete the “hotkey” folder and nothing happens....already install win 10 nothing...any ideas why this is happening? He shows the name of the graphics card, but nothing moves...

Hey guys. I have my P775TM1 now but I have a 1080 from a dm3-g installed. I know the card is the same but I am experiencing some weird issues. The card works fine for a long time but every once and again after a shut down the laptop will display a blank screen but will start. It will not boot or go into bios. Nothing resets it except for the graphics card to be removed and then the system powered on. It will then attempt to boot and when I reinsert the 1080 it will work like normal till it happens again. I am writing this post in hopes that someone will be willing to share an image of their stock p775tm1 bios version. Here's a screen of mine. Can you guys compare and let me know if it is the same? Thanks

Anyway you might be willing to share your vbios with me? It would seem the vbios is different and may be the cause of my headaches

What is the safest way to upload new bios in 1060? Is nvflash works?
