My Samsung NP530USB fell off a stool and the hinge cracked. It is getting worse and worse and while I can use it, at some point I'm worried it is going to break to the point of not being able to use it. I'm thinking about a new laptop, although I've only had this since April and would like to avoid that if possible, at least for as long as possible. Anyhow, the screen is fine but the hinge is cracked and now interfering with opening and closing. Is it possible to just purchase a new hinge? If so, where?

Why not try asking on their live chat tool, I have a link on my models web page, I'm guessing your models page would have the same type of link.

Thanks, John. I looked at the part list and can't seem to find what i'm looking for. It isn't just the metal hinges but the plastic casing - and it is a single long piece that runs across most of the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately it may be considered part of the screen.

Plastic casing problems are best fixed with superglue or epoxy resin. I once used the latter to fix structural plastic hinges on an old Dell Inspiron where the plastic was cracking.
