My Samsung RV511 notebook came with a "Safety Instruction" manual. It contains the following bullet point:
" For long periods of not using the notebook computer, discharge the battery and preserve as it is detached. The battery will be preserved at its best condition."
This goes against the advice of 40% charge level in this post. Googling suggests that approximately 40% level is standard advice.
Worse, Apple says that fully discharging their batteries before storing can make them go into deep discharge state, ruining the battery.
So, are Samsung batteries different or what's going on?

Perhaps the word "partly" (in front of "discharge") got lost in translation.
I would ignore the manual and follow the more general advice about storing at around 50% charge.

Thanks. I'll follow the general advice. The .exe manual (Flash browsable) also advices (elsewhere): "When not using the battery for a long time, store the battery after charging it to 30-40% of its capacity. This extends the battery life time."
Bad battery storage advice in Samsung manual?
