    Hi All,

Have any of you purchased a cooling pad for your S7 Chronos? If so, your experiences (which models work, which don't) would be greatly appreciated.

I did find an existing thread linked below, but it's not listed under Samsung, so probably hasn't garnered too much attention as a result:

I was thinking about ordering the one referenced there, if someone can confirm that it actually works as intended:

Did not want whirring fans inside but bought this one from Staples, for only 5 Euros:
Logitech Portable Lapdesk N315 - Staples Office Centre
Bottom is rubbery and it does keep my legs nice and cool; added bonus a slide-out mouse pad to use in a nostalgic mood, or to place your tuna sandwich on... ;)

I somewhat doubt that will have the desired cooling effect when gaming for lengthy periods, but cheers for the response.

IMHO, laptop cooling pads are snake oil, e.g. dont work. Again, just my experience.

What definitely worked for me was replacing the thermal paste on the cpu and gpu. 20C cooler with Prime95 and no throttling anymore.

Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing: they cool the top of your lap more than the laptop :D

Unless someone can confirm a significant GPU/CPU temp reduction (at least 5C), I can't see them being worth the money.

Well, as I said before, cooling pad won't do much on reduce the heat. The maximum temp I could see it been reduced is about 5 degrees, even with those big aluminum pad with 3 or more fans. However, sometimes that 5 degrees is really helpful. The only way I can see for this S7 is open the case and replace the thermal paste with new paste, if you know how to do that. Then buy a decent, but not expensive, cooling pad if you are gaming or using multimedia. Other than that, don't waste money on cooling pad.
