    www.gmabooster.com

it de-underclocks the gma chips in netbooks, including the samsung nc10, and can double certain 3d features like fill rate.

there is a thread on tomshardware forums showing the real life 3dmark benchmarks before and after.

has anyone on here tried it on their sammy and how is the battery life and heat generation in comparison to normal operation?
(i dont wanna bugger up my machine but i know there are folks who relish trying out these type of things.. )

I've heard mixed reviews about this thing. Some saw improvement, others nothing, saw at least one person have it mess up their machine (Eeepc). I don't think its worth the risk for the minimal performance increase you may get.

Why would I need to use this anyway? I can play 1080p and 720p mkv files just fine. :)

I think people just like to overclock processors rather computer or graphics.

Most poeple probably have no need, but there are those that just love to push their computers to the max.

I agree. If the program can underclock the underclocked IGP, then i'd be impressed.

What settings do you use to play 1080P and 720P h.264 mkv files? For 1080P videos, I can only play 3-5Mbit/s ones. Anyhigher, the frame rate will drop below 24fps.

I use CoreAVC and enable it with windows media classic player with haali mkv splitter installed. As for subtitled videos I use ffdshow (but disable it if your trying to play 1080p mkv files).

I coreavc as well. I dont use media player classic though. KMplayer can use its own subtitle systems so I can play 1080P + sub with coreavc. Also, kmplayer's interface is much better than the slimmed down gui in media player classic without adding too much overhead.

I am using CoreAVC, but I am using the full thing, CoreAVC codecs and player, this was the most simple solution and it is great also being able to play those YouTube HD videos from within CoreAVC Player Pro that wouldn't play before.

I highly recommend those having problems with HD Video on your netbook, look into the CoreAVC codec or Player Pro.

Hmm... I'm going to try coreplayer pro.

Edit: How do you get youtube HD videos working? Do you play video directly inside the coreplayer or in the browser with coreplayer's plugin?

I can play youtube hd just fine.

I watch the obama deception all the time in hd and plays fine.

I highly recommend watching this film, it will wake the hell out of you and come into reality as to whats "really" going on in the united states and the world.

Don't take anything the film states as fact. You should research rather than watch conspiracy theorist films.

    Amen to that!

Now back on the topic, this isn't a political forum!

Playing HD on netbooks including the NC10 has been problematic for most users. However, since installing the CoreAVC codecs it seems to have improved to that point that watching HD content on most sites works fairly well. Not perfect and no one is going to convince me that their particular model netbook does so perfectly no matter how hard they try. I've used too many various models to buy that nonsense.

None the less CoreAVC does seem to improve the viewability of HD content including on YouTube which was pretty much unwatchable prior to that as has been reported by dozens and dozens of not only Samsung NC10 owners, but other Samsung Netbook models and brands.

Youtube uses flash, so I can't see how CoreAVC would have anything to do with it.

Because you watch YouTube within the CorePlayer Pro, which apparently isn't in Flash! Just like watching it on an iPod Touch isn't in Flash!
