    hello,

just wondering if anyone out there have experienced similar problems...

my nc10, at first i didnt think it was real but i get small (nothing painful) electrical shock from the metal strip that runs around the machine and also from the two metal hinge things on the back.

i have tried re-plugging it in from the adapter, makes no difference with or without the battery on mains, and from the battery, i still get a shock (its more of a constant tingly feeling, enough that keeps me from falling asleep)

anyone else out there have similar experience?

aside from that, i love this little machine....

Are you saying you still feel static electricity without the battery in?

    A 2-pin (ungrounded) power supply, I presume?

These often result in some floating voltage, perhaps made worse if the neutral line is actually floating above earth.

It's not hazardous and, in my opinion, preferable to a grounded PSU which has a thicker and heavier mains cable.

yes, as i type this the battery is not in, and i can feel a not so pleasant tingly feeling coming from the rear metal hinges.

is it just my machine, or have others had the same sort of experiences?

    Thanks John for your reply...

yes the power supply has only two wires, have tried reversing the wires to see if it makes any difference, to which it doesnt. but before i phone up samsung hk, i am just curious if anyone else out there have had similar experiences with their machines...

Can you get one of those electrical screwdrivers with a neon light that glows when there is voltage? Does it shine when you try both pins in a power socket.

It would be worthwhile excluding that possibility before you contact Samsung.

And the other question is what do you have on your feet when you get a tingling in the fingers? Flip-flops provide excellent insulation. Bare feet and a concrete floor can act as conductor.

will try this tomorrow as its 3am.

usually i sit half on and half off my bed, with my feet rasied on a plastic chair leaning back on a tiled concrete wall. so i moved the screen to a point where i could feel the electricity, put one foot on the ground (tiled floor over more concrete. much like sitting in a big bathroom, oh, the joys of hong kong) then both feet (naked) on the floor, i even licked my fingers and grabbed on to the ali window frame still while my feet where on the tiled floor. i could still easily feel the tingly feeling from the metal hinges.

 YES!!!! im not alone, i have the same issue, i thought i mite have been crazy.

are you in the states?? cos im in the uk our power adapters all have grounded sockets, US sockets have two pins ours have 3, anyways i dont think its a grounding issue, im pretty sure it may be static from the plastic who knows, otherwise the shock would be much worse id have thought.. maybe its not, who knows, regardless im pretty sure its nothing to do with the power adapter.

one question i do have... is your nc10 WHITE????
me, my mum and two of my friends all have nc10's and only mine gives a shock. the only difference is that mine is the only white one, and the plastic is different, not shiny but more of a rough finnish, seems like totaly different plastic to the others.. the only one with similar finnish is the pink one. which i havent tested i admit.. but if yours is white its got to be a link id say??????
