I have ordered my new laptop, hope fully it will be arriving tomorrow.
I am looking for advice as to how to look after the laptop battery if I use this laptop everyday in the office and then take it home.
Should I have the laptop plugged in all the time?
Or should I run it from the battery first until it starts asking to plug it in and continue to work with it plugged in?
I have never worked with a laptop for everyday use. I have always used the laptop when out of the office and then used the desktop in the office.
I was under the impression that if you left the laptop plugged in all the time it damages the battery and you end up with it never holding its charge.

So, if you leave it on the AC power supply all day, it won't overcharge the battery.
Since Li-ion batteries have a finite number of recharge cycles, you probably don't want to run it on the battery unless you need to.

Does this setting also stop charging the battery above 80% when the laptop is off but still plugged in?

I have been using my 900X3A for 18 months this way and battery wear is only at 6.35%. The BLE is a great feature
