    Good Morning!

I've got a Samsung NP900x3A which I bought new a few months ago. As battery life seems to have all but diminished, I ran a few tests and found out that the battery has degraded over 60%!

I ran the battery diag in the BIOS as well as tried a few other things, but know the issue is physical and assume replacement is the only option. The problem is, I can't find a replacement battery anywhere online!

I know that the battery isn't easily replaceable, but am comfortable doing so as I've already upgraded the mSATA SSD and RAM.

Anyone know where I can find a replacement battery? One better than the OEM one would be a plus - Thanks!

If the computer has been in use for less than 12 months (the first used date may be coded into the BIOS) then the battery should be covered under warranty.

This seems to be the battery. However, it would be advisable to take the bottom of your notebook and check the battery part number.

Thanks for the reply... Two things, though...

First, I don't know if replacing the mSata and RAM voided my warranty. Even more importantly, I've requested service for it before and they wanted me to ship it off for at least 2 weeks. I can't afford to be without it that long and would rather pay $50 or so instead.

Your suggestion may be what I have to end up doing, but any suggestions in the meantime?

    Thanks

Provided you kept your old RAM and SSD so you can restore the computer to the condition supplied by Samsung (and don't mention that you have done any parts swapping) then there should be no warranty issues.

A battery swap shouldn't take a couple of weeks provided that a replacement battery is in stock. One UK X3B owner was sent a battery to replace himself, but that was in the UK. If you can convince Samsung that you need a replacement battery and are competent with a screwdriver then they may be willing to send the part to replace yourself.

Googling for BA43-00292A doesn't reveal any cheap batteries.

Thanks - Being a systems admin, I'd hope they'd trust me with it, but won't surprise me if not :)

So BA43-00292A is the model number of the battery? Know if there's one with more juice? Thanks again for your help

    EDIT:
    $171!!! Thats crazy

The part number comes from Samsungparts.com (link in my first post above). Searching for that leads to this ebay item where zooming in on the third photo reveals the battery number of AA-PLAN6AR. Googling for that turns up some more battery options including compatibles such as this at about half Samsung's price. I would, however, get out a screwdriver and check the numbers on the battery in your X3A (a photo is the easiest way of recording the data).
