Hello, I have a Samsung NP270E5E notebook. It was working OK but in a moment, when I try to init it, I get the Win8 error: 'your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We are just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you.
Then, the PC reboot and say "preparing automatic recovery" but the same: 'your PC ran into.....'
So I do a recovery with the Samsung utility, pressing F4 and doing a factory reset. All was OK, and I can use the notebook formatted. But when I restart the PC (first restart, I didn't install or deleted anything), the same: 'your pc ran...'. I did a new factory reset, but the same.

    How can I do? Thanks!

    Hello Josecanalla, welcome to NBR.

It is a good sign that you are able to load Samsung Recovery with F4 and perform a factory restore. But the fact that the issue came back shortly after -- without you installing anything -- could mean you have a disk defect.

One thing I would ask you to try: Go to to BIOS (same as Recovery, but F2 at startup instead of F4) and restore its default settings by pressing F9. Save and reboot, then perform another factory restore after that (F4). If some BIOS settings were accidentally changed, that could affect Windows' ability to properly read and write the disk.

If it still fails after that, it is time to thoroughly test the disk. Since you cannot run Windows, I would use a Linux LiveCD for that, though there are other tools as well.

I would add that must hard drive manufactuers have a diagnostic utility which can both check the drive and interpret the drive's SMART data. For Seagate (often used by Samsung) the program is called Seatools.

    John, thanks for your reply.

When I try to enter to Recovery or setup, I can't do it if the HD is connected to the PC. I need to plug off the HD, turn on the notebook, and then hot plug on the HD and enter in the recovery mode.

I formatted PC once again and deactivate the UEFI mode from Windows, then I can enter in setup and deactivate Fast boot. Then, I can install a lot of updates of Windows (more than 100) and restart the PC in many times. I think that the problem is solved. I start to install Windows 8.1 update, and when I return to the PC, it is in the loop again... 'Your PC ran into a ...' :S

I run HDD Regenerator in this HD, and there isn't any bad sector.

Samsung includes an utility that updates the BIOS. I do the update. Now I am installing the updates before the Windows 8.1 update. Then I comment you the results... thanks!

I can install the 8.1 update, and I install an antivirus and other software. For the moment, all run ok. So the solution is update the BIOS...

    Thanks!

Thank you for the update indicating that a BIOS update resolved the problem.
