I bought one of these when they came out and I have had to sendit in for repair twice: 1st the touch pad stopped working and then it started coming apart at the hinges (the plastic broke). Also the power adapter's cable would started falling apart at both ends and so did the 2nd one ...

Though I have carry in warranty and I live in New York and the closest repair center is in New Jersey, I needed to send it to Texas. They returned my laptop after about 3 weeks, but minus the power adapter. The Repair Center who didn't return it refused to send it to me because I had already contacted Samsung (that's the only phone number on the paperwork). Samsung is going to send me a new one in 7 - 15 business days, so this will be out of commission for up to 3 more weeks. Needless to say I cannot be without a laptop for another 3 weeks ... I asked them to overnight it and offered to pay for it. They would not be willing to help me in any way. So I went out to buy an Apple Airbook. This will never happen to me again....

While Samsung wouldn't admit that there are things wrong with the X3A, about a year ago they made a big presentation to the press about all the things they had improved in the later models.

On the matter of PSUs, I always keep a second one (3rd party) as a spare.

    Hi

I'm looking to replace my battery that shows near 37% of wear (discovered the 80% charge possibility too late... :-( ) but most of the batteries I find in Europe have 5000 mA while the original seems to have 6200 mA.

Anyone a tip where I can find the right one?

Samsungparts.com lists the battery as part No. BA43-00292A. Anything compatible with that should work. It's possible that 3rd party batteries have a lower rating than the very expensive original battery.

    Thanks for your fast answer.

As you say, impossible to find a "cheap" genuine battery. Just ordered one in France, where I live, 143€ (192$) was the best I found. I prefer the original as a 5000 mA means 25% less energy and these OEM also cost near/over 100€ (134$).

I will pass the 900X to my daughter and probably buy a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro. Seems a good deal and it is one of the few computers that offer 256 Gigs SSD. The new 13" Samsung 9 doesn't offer more than 128 GB and that really isn't enough for my use.

    Thanks again,

    Ton

I have the NP900X3A-B01 and was wondering if there is a way to adjust the amount the volume increases and decreases when pressing on the (Fn+F10/F11) keyboard volume keys. Right now from zero, with each press of the key, it goes up to 2 then 4 ,8, 12, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100.

So, from 20% volume to 100%, each key press increases the volume by 10%. And from zero up to 20%, each key press increases the volume by either 2%, 4% or 8%.

I would like to be able to use these keys to increase the volume by 2% all the way from zero up to 100% so that I have more control. I know there are many ways to adjust the volume by specific increments using other methods, but the Fn+F10/F11 keyboard commands are the most convenient for me and I would like to adjust them to my preference.

    Thanks, Kevin

ps. I tried the 3RVX download and couldn't get it to work as, I described above, I'd like it to work.

I've still got this 900X3A, though as my second laptop.
I just bought an AC-router, the ASUS RT-AC56U and on my new computer I'm getting 125 Mbit up/down which is my cap with the connection I've got.

Would it improve the performance with a new AC-wifi card like the Intel AC 7260 to overcome some of the problems with the duraluminum blocking wifi signals? Has anyone tried this?

    Thanks!

I can confirm this simple trick works. I now have an extra 64 GB storage with a micro-SD card and a closed lid.
