buy an "A" series while still available vs. wait for "B" series? Any thoughts?
(B01 & B02 now avail on various sites...)

One downside to "B-series" noted is warranty change from 3-years to 1-year. Given that, thoughts/experiences on extended warranties and extended warranty PLUS "accidental damage" coverage? (how delicate is this thing, anyway?) Adds $200-400 to price! (sneaky way to "raise price" while still leaving apparent selling price the same?) Makes that MBA vs. S9 comparison easier, I guess since BOTH now have 1 year coverage.

Perhaps last chance to get a "bargain" A-series or avoid and wait for B-series with improved (?) wifi card?

Any other changes in B-series that anyone knows of?

Just wanted to add (as described in detail below) that it "appears" this warranty decrease is offset by a price decrease which would more than cover the purchase on an equivalent 3rd party extended warranty.

I wanted to add this info I found on a major online computer/electronics site (that starts w/ N and contains a common breakfast item in its name)

they were selling the A03 (now listed as "out of stock") for $1649 w/ specs of i5-1.4 CPU, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD. (3 yr warranty)

They are NOW selling the B01 with EXACT same specs EXCEPT CPU is i5-1.6 for $1349.

It would appear then that Samsung has reduced the warranty but ALSO DROPPED the price $300? (which pays for a 3-yr extended warranty ~$200 AND STILL SAVES $100 or almost pays for a 3-yr warranty + accidental coverage.

Is this then a "no brainer" AFA buying a B-series unit over an A-series unit?-- assuming there is a B-series configuation you are happy with (B-02 has same 1.6 CPU but 256GB SSD for $300 more ($1649).

Still no B-series model with i7 chip or more than 4GB RAM.

Wait.. I got lost when you said the difference was $300.
    1549-1349=300?

I dunno, I was thinking of a Series 9 but aside from the performance issue, whether the wifi problem is fixed or not will make or break the deal

get the newer/better one... if you plan on pulling off the back cove anyway to add ram or anything else, your going to void the warranty anyhow.

if you "void the warranty" are 3rd party warranties (Square Trade, Service Net- from Newegg) still valid?

Anyone have any experience w/ either?
Newegg has pretty "standard" (i.e., MSRP) web price for laptop but offers Service Net ext war. for ~$100 less than an equivalent Square Trade warranty.

Unless you either disturb any stickers placed to show if the case has been opened or leave physical signs of damage, then the approach for claiming any warranty service is to first restore the computer to the condition in which you bought it.

I guess if it was something besides JUST a gaming monitor, you'd have a point. But it's a full functioning television, designed with processing to upconvert and process all sorts of picture signals.

Okay, a step backwards? Not if improved picture quality costs .031 seconds. This year, we're introducing a new technology that makes SD content look better, and that's probably the result. But "Broken"?

This poster, only a few posts down sums it up:

But, I will say this: I think some people (very few) ARE sensitive to 'input lag'. For them it's a legitimate concern. For the other 99% of gamers, it's not a big deal. It's just something to obsess about on the AVS forums
