Hello all;
I have a:
Samsung NP700Z5A-A01DX
i5 processor
6Gb Ram
Windows 7 pro
all up-to-date drivers
I have been unable, since day one, to change the brightness level via the Fn f2 and f3. I used to be able to do it via the Easy Settings but that has stopped too.
I get the green bars when I press the Fn combo's but they stay static and nothing happens.
It sometimes happens with the sound too but a re-boot solves that.
Recently, when the computer awakes from sleep (when I open a closed lid) it appears to run fine but won't open any programs; I double click and the activity icon whirls and then stops. I can open the task bar and choose restart, except that it doesn't and I have to hard reset by holding the on button.
I have scoured the net trying to solve this but to no avail, but I did find this forum.
Has anyone any ideas or solutions.
Thanks in advance.

I would reinstall Easy Settings. The program that manages the Fn key controls is part of that package.
Can you adjust the brightness using the slider control in Easy Settings?

I have done that and installed the latest one, no difference.
I could alter using the slider but not anymore; in fact they Fn are very fickle and sometimes they will sometimes they won't; but brightness just won't.
Thanks for your help anyway.
