    Hi,

I am thinking of purchasing the R610. However, there are two versions with a difference of £100. The only spec difference I can see is the lower priced only has 2GB Ram compared to the 3GB ram for an extra £100? is this the only difference?

Also, should I need the backup- disc that Laptopsdirect.co.uk offer with the Laptop? or is it a waste of £20 or so if I can backup the system myself onto an external HDD or if Samsung provide a disc?

    Thanks,
    Marc

SOOOO not worth it, 100 pound will buy you atleast 8gb of memory (not that it's possible to fit them in).
20 pound for a recovery disk? no way, just use an external hdd.

    tianxia is right about both.

On a sidenote, Laptopsdirect.co.uk have pretty poor customer reviews on several websites.

    thanks,

well ebuyer do the same laptops for the same price, but with cheaper delivery. They dont have a 'restore disc' though.

I have done some more research and some sites say the more expensive version actually has a higher screen resolution... is this true as it might persuade me a little more to go for that one?

    Rgds,
    Marc

I would double check the specs by looking at other sites. Overclockers think the more expensive R610 (NP-R610-AS01UK) has a WUXGA display.
