    Hey all-
I own the Samsung Series 7 Gamer with the SAMSUNG173HT02C01 display. This is a display that can be set to 120 hz through the advanced display setting (currently using win8.1) I have had no problems with it in the past, however, I noticed my mouse cursor not being as smooth as I am used to so checked my resolution settings. What I found is that my display is now set to 60 hz with not option to put it back up to 120 hz. When I attempt to create a custom resolution with the NVIDIA Control Panel and set it to 120 hz, my screen goes black and it stops responding. When I click the "List All Modes" button under adapter in the advanced settings there is a preset for 70 hz which works fine, but nothing above that. The display is also listed as "Generic Plug and Play Monitor", although I can't confirm this is a new development. I am running the computer in gaming mode, (some people had problems with 120 hz on powersaver)

    Thanks for any help!

Do you have the one with the 675M?

Make sure you update to the latest nvidia drivers and system bios.

I do have the 675M with updated NVIDIA software and an updated BIOS. I attempted to rollback my NVIDIA driver but nothing happened. When manually setting the refresh rate to 120 with NVIDIA control panel it gives me the error that it is not supported by my screen, which it is of course.
