When I saw 7970m I almost fainted.

Oh well.

Instynct,
Could you possibly take a photo of the laptop ? (few of them would be great)
Does it come with the 120Hz 3d screen + glasses also ?
Cheers -
Better yet, take some video
-
I'll try to take some pictures or video if I can find some batteries for my camera.
Sorry guys I have literally no batteries for my camera and also can't find the cord for plugging it in. -
A shame it doesnt have 7970M
-
I can't believe tiger direct is legit...anyways basically, I found everything I wanted in a clevo laptop...except I heard the fan noise is obnoxious and so samsung gamer, now first thing is its a gtx675m which still uses the Fermi architecture, I was wondering when the gamer model would come out with the 7970m as I understand it will be more power efficient and more powerful?... Also, could you perhaps record the fan noise of the g7c in some way? Lastly, I heard the samsung gamer has overheating problems, can you say anything about this?

It seems strange that even with the ivy bridge delay, nvidia still are selling fermi 40nm cards.

looking at the Samsung NP700G7C-S01US
Samsung NP700G7C-S01US Series 7 Gaming Notebook - Intel Core i7-3610QM 2.3GHz, 16GB DDR3, 2TB HDD, Blu-ray Player, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M, 17.3 Full HD, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit at TigerDirect.com
I see it has a 2nd Generation Intel Core i7-3610QM or so they say in the info box. -

I would be curious to see some pictures as well. Does your Samsung have a dial on the top right of the keyboard that lets you select between the different modes (i.e. Gaming which over clocks the CPU, Green mode or otherwise known as battery save mode, library mode to reduce fan noise, etc)? It seems there are two versions of the Samsung Series 7. I was at Samsungs headquarters in Korea today and saw the Yellow/Orange (merigold?) painted version with Ivy Bridge and a 675M. Hard to tell if the one on Tiger Direct is the same one, just in black.
The capability to adjust the CPU performance on the fly is definitely a huge plus for someone like me who needs extended battery life at times when I travel. I was talking to the representative there and he said they cannot sell this version until 1 more week. I tried to convince him to sell me oneHe did not know when the 7970 would be available but did say that there will be a version with the 7970.
As for the size, it seemed lighter and not as thick as the Asus gaming laptops.
He said the 3D version will NOT be released in the US only Asia and Europe which sucks because that is the industry I am in. The laptop when put into gaming mode is amazing. I was playing a few graphic intensive games in gaming mode and there was no fan noise and the laptop did not get hot at all. The 3D LCD is beautiful and the 3D looks great! I may have to come back to Korea and pick one up.
Here is the Series 7 Gamer I am referring to (just no 3D): Samsung bringing its Series 7 Gamer to the US, we go hands-on (video) -- Engadget
I was considering an MSI GT70 but if that does not come out with the 675M soon, I may get this Samsung gaming laptop top. -
3 days to AMD Radeon HD 7970M...

-
hmm that's weird -
has it been confirmed that the samsung gamer will have 7970m when it comes out? i saw some pics but idk if theyre real

-
7970M is a 1280 stream processor monster at 850MHz... Almost a HD 7870!

Hello usagi4141
Thanks for the info. Is that for the US? I am sure you were not able to get any pricing, were you?
I was told at Samsungs HQ in Korea last week when I was there on business that they were not releasing a 3D model in the US and I have seen many articles about this unit mentioning the same thing. I really hope the info of a non-3D model in the US is wrong because I am in the 3D business and it would help me tremendously not to have to carry 2 laptops to a trade showAlso all of the reviews I have read and seen have said that the US version will ONLY be available with the GTX675M and not the 7970M. Of course these are reviews and no one really knows until the laptop is truly released but initial laptops that are available for order and for presale do reveal that this may be correct. Also have to take into consideration that the HD7970M only became available today so time will tell.
I am very close to purchasing the Samsung NP700G7C 2.70-3.70GHz i7-3820QM 16GB 2GB Nvidia Geforce GTX 675M (< I can have this as soon as next Tuesday) from a reseller on eBay BUT if I can confirm the 3D model is coming out soon in the US, I will wait. The 7970M is not as important to me as the 3D screen is. I would purchase from overseas BUT the warranty would be a nightmare (should anything go wrong). At least on EBay, I can get the square trade warranty and the reseller is very reputable (at least everything I have read online about them). -
NP700G7C-S01CA - SAMSUNG
Notice the AMD Radeon HD 7970M has (3D Model) but NVIDIA Geforce GTX 675M has (2D Model)
this is not exactly what the us version will be but most of it is true and the 3d is one of it. that is right from samsung us themselves by phone. -
gimme some notebookreview likes? NP700G7C-S01CA - SAMSUNG

can anyone tell me how this laptops screen brightness compares with other standard laptops. it says it has a "SuperBright 400 nit FHD LED Display"
-
Roxor - When I was testing it out, I thought it had a pretty bright screen. Brighter than most other laptops. The viewing angles were pretty good and the colors were vivid and bright.
I went ahead and purchased this model: Samsung NP700G7C 2.70-3.70GHz i7-3820QM 16GB 2GB Nvidia Geforce GTX 675M Blu-ray
I couldnt wait any longer. My trusty Dell Precision M6400 is on its last leg. For the first time ever I got the blue screen of death last night. I am suppose to receive the new laptop on Tuesday of next week. I also purchased a Samsung 830 SSD 512 GB drive to use as my primary. I will swap out the primary 750gb drive for the 512gb SSD and probably sell the 1 of the 750gb drives the laptop came with. All of my research on the Ivy Bridge Core I7-3820QM has turned up that this is an amazing processor. Here is a good article on it: Ivy Bridge i7-3820QM Performance -
cool, i think i am getting this one in 3d. orginally i was going to get the asus g75, but there graphics card is 670m and half the speed of the 7970m. diablo 3 is going to be great on this; guild wars 2 is going to be AMAZING
-
400 nit is a really good spec for a laptop display. This laptop is a heck of a first effort from them.
-
Sounds hot may get this over Clevo rebrand

I never considered or even thought about Samsung for a gaming laptop until I saw this unit. I was on the fence about to buy a MSI GT70 and when I finally saw this in person, I fell in love with it. I not only use my laptop for gaming but also for business. I needed a laptop that does not look like a kid owns it (sorry alienware owners) but has the power to game in my spare time. Samsung Series 7 gamer won me over. I also really like the performance mode dial so I can easily over clock the unit on the fly or turn of the GPU and use the Ivy Bridge graphics processor to save battery for those times I travel. I can’t wait to do some battery life tests next week when I get my unit.
I wish it had the HD7970M but I cannot wait any longer so I pulled the trigger on one that has the GTX675M and the 3820QM as mentioned in my previous post.
Also the Samsung was cheaper than the MSI with similar specs. -
It's being released with the 7970m isn't it? and does anyone know when its release date is in Canada or US? Or if a 3d version will exist in said countries?
-
This seems like a very nice laptop. The 7970m version will be 3D and the GTX 675m will be 2D from my knowledge. I cant wait for this laptop, but there is little information on this laptop. Does anyone here know and release date or pricing for it?
-
I can't wait for it to be released, it's my dream laptop. The one with ivy bridge and 7970m gpu. It suppose to have the 3D option to. should be released in a few weeks that's what samsung in the US said by phone.

Nothing new but check out this cool advertisement

I'm very happy...
I was searching for a gaming laptop that I'd be able to use in a professional place (something that doesn't look like Alienware or MSI GT) and looks like I found it!
Gg Samsung -
Now if they would just give a release date for this beast in Sweden I'd be happy. Specifically the 7970 version. It has shown up on prisjakt.nu (like Pricerunner) as upcoming but without any GPU mentioned.
-
Have any benchmarks popped up for the 7970m yet? I really would like to to how well it can run games. Next few weeks? That's exciting. I've been waiting 5 months for a laptop and I believe I found the right one. Asus, Alienware, and Sager just can't compare.

I am not actually a serious gamer - I do a lot of video / design work so need a top range nVidia graphics card. I really like the look and spec of this laptop, however am a little concerned that the backlit keyboard seems to be fixed to all one colour when in "balanced" mode, but then when you want the graphics card & cpu performance you go to "gamer" mode and some of the keys turn red and the touch pad is disabled. Are the modes configurable? I want the max graphics and cpu performance when doing work not games - so I don't want red game keys, and a turned off touch pad. Anyone know? Or am I trying to fit a square peg in a round hole?
-
-
Guypb - I will be able to officially answer your question on Wednesday as that is when I get my laptop. I have read that you can turn off certain aspects of the performance modes. The review did not however mention anything about customization. I would think that you would be able to, we will know soon. I made sure that the company I purchased the laptop from allows returns with no restocking fee just in case.
-
Release date is needed so baddly :0
-
Does anyone know if this will have sata III 6.0 gb/s or sata II 3.0/s ?
-
You'll need to wait for 7970M though. -
Samsung listed it a month ago for $1699. So I believe that it's waaay overpriced right now. I'll wait and see -
Does someone know if this US-Version comes with 7200rpm or 5400rpm HDD? The Europa Version that came out last year had 7200rpm HDD but only 1.5TB instead of 2TB. I don't think that a 5400rpm HDD is really fitting into a "Gaming Laptop" without having at least a Boot-SSD.
