    In UK

Kikatek - Graphics Cards, CPU's, Disk Drives, Monitors, Memory, Optical Drives states: SAMSUNG NP700Z5A-S01UK SILVER - INTEL CORE i7-2675QM 8GB 750GB ATI 1GB GRAPHICS CAM/BT/DVDRW 15.6 INCH Win7 HP

    Expected ETA 28/10/2011

And why they have decided that UK residents are happy with Win 7 Home Premium and not with Win 7 Pro.

And there are 6 questions still not answered. Those big companies tend to treat costumers over here like brainless morons and they know better whats good for you.
Elegantly powerful and durable -700Z5A 15.6" High Performance Notebook-Notebook Computers-High Performance | SAMSUNG

Edit: OK at least they got AMD Radeon™ HD6750M (PowerXpress) 1GB DDR5 (Ext. Graphic) in it.

    Hey guys!
The link isn't dead anymore, and there is some pictures of viewving angles and a video.

@ mariofz31z: i have ask him yet, but he don't have any programs to really test the beast and don't know anything about the programs test, and I have ask so question that i prefer stop for today. I'll probably ask him tomorow.

I forget to tell you that he founds the color more vivid and sharp in real and that the pictures aren't at the level of the reality.
As you can see, the PC is backlit and it's very nice.

Thanks man! The programs I was talking about can be found with google by searching SiSoftware Sandra Professional Home/Business/Engineer 2011.8.17.80 (SP5) or AIDA64 Extreme Edition 1.85.1653. But I'm not sure the policy of this forum would allow me to publish such links... he could figure out how to make them work, not a big deal.

    Anyway, his photos are encouraging.

Am i being confused but Kikatek.com lists the 15.6" i7 as having the 6490m while Samsung states its 6750m.

Also Kikatek lists the subwoofer but i thought that was ditched a while back?

    Same here.

Just don't get it why is it so hard to make, let's say 3 different set-ups all over the world all the same. Should be from manufacturing point of view less costing.

    Just keep it simple.

I just hope some info gets out by the 23rd. Thats when the HP Pavillion $500 coupon ends and if there aren't any confirmations on this unit, i'm just going to go with the HP.

I've been following this thread for a while now and after seeing these new pics of the high end 15.6" version I'm getting excited about this laptop again :) The screen looks great to me, a lot better than the best buy version (judging from the photos of it) and the whole laptop has a premium finish to it.

Info from Samsung rep regarding UK release date:

"The SERIES 7 CHRONOS 15" will come in two versions, one with integrated graphics and the other one with hybrid graphics (discrete). All SERIES 7 CHRONOS 15" with discrete graphics come with the AMD Radeon HD6750M."
"With regards to the UK, the model 15,6" will be released around the end of October and the price will start from 799£(GBP)"
"There is no plan to release the models 13" and 15" in the UK at this stage"

How is the battery life on the 15.6? The Best Buy model was pretty heavy and I'm assuming partly because of a generously sized battery.

The Sony SE barely gets 4.5 hours doing almost nothing... real life usage is probably closer to 2-3 hours... bleh.

That's with the standard battery though, right? I believe you get 5-6 hours with the slice battery...then again that's added weight, size, and cost.

I read that the SS7 is supposed to get around 8 hours of usage time...I'll be happy with 6 hours of basic processing usage.

For the battery life, a russian review said that there is 8 hours during writing text with 30% of light.

Looks to me like copy+paste of the Samsung marketing texts rather than a review, besides that it was published on September 19th, 2011, shortly after the IFA presentation.

It has been said many times, the 15,6 have a numeric keyboard and it's the only model which have it. No other will have it and the 15,6 have it on all of the models (BB, high end models etc...)

    Hi all,

I believe many of you would like to buy this laptop due to it's screen quality, and the 8Gb of SSD which might let us experience a much faster loading and using programs and also the low size of the laptop.

What about buying the Best Buy model for $949 and buying a SSD for ~$170. The end cost would be ~$1,120 but you would have a real SSD drive.

The down points would be no BT and no backlit keyboard, which are not dealbreaker at all, just plus.

Do you guys think it would work?

Ah the 6750M, I forgot to mention it =)

And yep, its not very important for me, I wont play games on it. The. Nice, I'll consider buying the BB samsung and a SSD and let a place in the line for a person who really wants the one with the backlit keyboard =D

I have one question though, can he find out whether the intel and amd drivers for the graphics are installable directly from intel or amd or whether its special samsung drivers, like some sony notebooks have, that would be bad :(

The BB power adapter was well made and small. A plus. The machine was quiet (very nice!) but I didn't game with the 6490 (I don't think the 6490 makes much sense as it's just a bit better than the integrated graphics or, say, the Nvidia 320 from last year --- probably just copying the 15 inch MBP set-up).

It appears to have an excellent battery. That might be most impt. of all to me --- esp. w/i7 and 6750. (I agree with the person who said an i5 would be enough for me --- I'm not looking at this for heavy gaming.)

If it doesn't come out soon with the 6750, I might give up on it --- and laptops are always getting better. (Think of the next MBP's --- 13 inch and 15 inch.)

Good luck! It's a nice machine that is well priced --- fingers crossed.

Ho yea but I already played that game of "should i wait or not" with first gen envys... and the envy without sandy bridge was fine performance wise.
    What will happen is :
    - derpderp sandybridge comes out by april/june in laptops
    - derpderp series 7 gets refreshed only by next summer
    - derpderp is sad because he doesn't want to shell out 2000$ for a 15" mbp even if it's ivy bridge and usb 3.0

very sad. I played with its size in my hands and left the store quickly after.
