-
lucky boy... I hate you!^^
You'll do a review? After play a bit with the monster of course^^ -
Yes please, do a review as soon as you get it... although actually I am tempted to pull the trigger now, especially as it is surprisingly cheap compared to elsewhere in Europe (1300 chf vs. 1400 eur in ITA / GER and the FX rate is around 1.2 nowadays).
There seem to be a fair share of confusion also amongst the Swiss retailers, the same model (700Z5A-CH01) is listed as having a AMD 6450 here Computer Trade Shop: Notebooks > Business > Professional > Samsung NP700Z5A-S01CH -
is it really so much better if we buy in germany?
-
Its much more expensive...
-
yes but, actually if I buy for me. is just 100€ difference. because germany is in Europe Union - no taxes. from swizz - is 20% taxes.
so i preffer to buy it just if it is tha same preformance... or very similar -
So I went by a store here in Norway today and talked to a guy about the series 7. He said they expected to have them in the store by the end of the week, maybe as late as next week.
I asked him if he knew if the screen would be crap, like it was on the bb-models. He said the screen was awesome and that he had recently been at a presentation of some sort with samsung where they said they would use the same screen in the series 7 as they used in the series 9.
If that's true, that has to be awesome news. -
I'm looking to get the 15.6 version with the HD6750M in the UK - called the NP700Z5A-S01UK. I wanted to know if it will output to two external monitors. I am planning to use converters for both the HDMI port and the DisplayPort.
Also, if this setup is possible, am I able to use the built-in monitor as a third output, or would it mirror one of the external displays?
Thanks in advance. -
I think there is no display port, "just" HDMI and VGA (via dongle). ATI has eyefinity (4 display outputs at the same time) which should allow use of HDMI, VGA and internal display at once. As i understand it, it depends also on graphics switching technology used and which GPU is connected to which output, for example HP use semi-manual software switching (you decide which programs use dedicated or integrated gpu) but physically dedicated one if activated sends data to integrated one which control outputs (dedicated one is not connected with outputs.) In this case i am not sure it would work.

I think u r pretending as a newbie, but u r a promoter. Btw, lets go 2 south korea by echonomic class flight ticket & get full-packed machine, direct from company!

Has anyone ever imported a notebook before? How about a notebook from Thailand?
Looking to get the 15' (14' chassis) model from Thailand since that is the only country so far confirmed to get it. Not even Canada is getting it seems...
Get to know the Samsung SERIES 7 CHRONOS (MaxScreen 15") - YouTube
-
I just can't believe none of the review site did a in-dept review of the high end model yet. I am not pulling the trigger until I can get a review on the screen.
-
Same here.
-
Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not. If I was I would probably be bragging alot more and giving more information. I post using this nick at a couple pokerforums, and I think I have 1 post on Dells forums - if that helps clear my name
I'm gonna buy a new laptop soon, and it's either gonna be an asus n55sf, dell xps l1502x or this one - and I really hope this is good since it's smaller than the others. -
+1
Let's waiting... -
+1 i'd like to know if anyone has ever imported a laptop before period...
how much it costed?
if its a couple hundred extra...i might be able to swallow it in order to get my perfect laptop (the 15 inch screen 14 inch chassis) (core i5, 6750m,express cache, backlit keyboard)
if its more than 200 dollars extra to import it..ill probably just buy the 15.6 model in the u.s -
Wow all the dates of release got pushed back by half to full a month. Because originally Samsung rep told me mid-November for Canada. But now it's end of November. But I'll believe it when people have it actually in their hands.
-
im gonna have to find a way to put my money aside for this laptop...i fear by the time it comes out i wont have it anymore because i'd spent it on something else.
epic fail on samsung's part -
Edit: nvm.
-
For Swiss / people wanting to import from CH - the other webshop of Digitec has the top-model for 1234 CHF now, in stock -> https://shop.digitec.ch/en/s1/samsung-700z5a-i7-2675qm-156-hd-750gb-notebook-265611

hi folks,
I'm from germany and I am following this thread for a long time. Even if there are some of you how think the notebook won't be that good I am very excited and looking forward to it. But I also hope that the screen will be good. (But for me most screens will be an improvement, because I only own an 5 year old Samusung x60 Notebook with a crappy glare and very dim screen)
Here in germany the notebook is available in my favorite shop --> Studentenrabatt Notebooks Rabatt Studenten Samsung Studentbook. It's with express cach. For The backlight keyboard I have no confirm yet but I wrote an email.
When I have more information I will post it here. If i have information i probably will order the notebook in the next few days. Because of express delivery it will be here only 1 day after order. -
Most pathetic execution of a product release ever.
I expect this crap from a company a lot smaller than Samsung. -
I think it fits perfectly to Samsung: a lot of marketing blabla. But in real life they release nothing special compared to other brands... maybe except their newest Galaxy mobile.
-
This model is not the Chronos everyone here is talking about. People here are talking about the Samsung Series 7 Chronos. If you click on that link, and click on the picture posted, you will see a Turbo button and the laptop is black in colour. This is the Samsung Series 7 Gamer which has FULL HD screen and HD 6970M.
The chronos has an aluminium body maxes out with a HD 6750 and a HD+ (1600*900 screen) -
That's a shame. Having re-read the technical specifications on the UK site, it doesn't say DisplayPort. However, it does list it on the features page.
Would the VGA dongle use up a USB Port? -
you are wrong: search left in the frame and you´ll find: Studentenrabatt Notebooks Rabatt Studenten Samsung Studentbook
There´s also a PDF. It says it has backlit keyboard... so let´s see and wait. In Germany you can now also order the i5 version for 999 EUR.... -> http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/b005pms1y0/geizhalspre03-21/ref=nosim?m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF -
Probably it uses the displayPort.
-
hey some CompUSA are showing on Samsung map to have in stock the NP700Z5A-S02US (15.6 W/6gb) only in store not online to bad the one close to me is 28 miles away to confirm it not wasting my gas on what may be a lie
-
My bad, I don't understand German and that is why I didn't navigate around the site, but yes, this link is the Series 7 Chronos.
-
i did not found the this model on compusa site, i bookmark the page here it is
and it says the THIS ITEM IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE so we need to wait at least a week from now -
I'm following a french thread and a member (a swiss) have receive his model (700Z5A high end model).
Here are some pictures: https://picasaweb.google.com/114505...authkey=Gv1sRgCOKEk8z64Nn78wE&feat=directlink
Contrarly at the BB model, the palmrest haven't the brushed alu effect... but the screen seems to be really good (for me). -
Ahah ho wow, that screen.
-
You find it crap or sharp?
-
Looking at the fotos, you can see the screen inverting a bit on the upper end again. I don't think it will be different to the BB model, because it would not make sense to do so.
Besides that, I think it is a good TN panel, just not RGB backlit or IPS etc.
Feel free to tell me otherwise
-
Thanks for the link, brice1511. Could you ask the proud owner to be so nice and take a couple of shots from the angle of the screen? Thanks again.
-
I'll ask him, np. But how do you know my french pseudo? do you follow the thread on hardware forum?
-
From the photos it looks sharp enough, matte enough, and the color rendering looks very very good (I think it has a "Pop" factor similar to the amoled screens, I'm not saying it is anyhow accurate) but the angles seems to be generic TN angles, very narrow verticals and medium lateral angles, but otherwise it looks perfect for a two to three user scenario (like watching a movie in bed with two girls
).
If you're a gamer or fast paced movies watcher you may prefer the better reaction times of a TN pannel (less ghosting) over the color accuracy & angles of an IPS. -
Yeah, I've figured out from your posts of here and there.
-
Screw that, hello Asus UX31!
-
Ok^^ 10char

Samsung NP700Z5A-S02US Series 7 Notebook PC - Intel Core i7-2675QM 2.2GHz, 6GB DDR3, 750GB HDD, DVDRW, Backlit Keyboard, AMD Radeon HD 6750M, 15.6 LED Display Pre-Order Now (Ships Early October) at TigerDirect.com
they changed the model to NP700Z5A-S04US $1,079.99
so confusing.. lol -
Lol yeah it so confusing now. But I asked before the previous listing S02US still had expresscache and backlit keyboard and what not. I guess Samsung is changing their model numbers now most likely to add those without expresscache.
-
Hey man, please thank I3eno for the photos and small video.
https://picasaweb.google.com/114505...authkey=Gv1sRgCI-Bjq-vhqTL3AE&feat=directlink
Don't want to abuse his kindness, but it would be also nice of him to publish a detailed system information report like Sandra or Everest (if he has the time!), for us to know what exactly is inside. And a longer video, please... Thanks again.
His photos give me hope that the screen is not that bad after all, although not the best... obviously. It does not seem that blueish anymore. -
The screen definitely looks better in the photos. *crossing fingers*
The lack of concrete release dates or musical chairs with model numbers/availability is not a good sign. Samsung needs to really get it together. -
The video is at photo 19. Or the one on the right of the keyboard shot.
If anyone's looking. -
i will buy this laptop this week.

Don't know if the video adapter switching will be automatic (à-la optimus) or manual, but yes, this laptop will met your requirements...
A review measured 7:50 on reading profile (30% backlit, scrolling documents & other light task)...
-
You're right indeed, if anyone's looking...
The video from the photo 19 position is the small video I've been talking about, it does have 13 seconds. Hope it's not longer on your screen...
