    Samsung Series 9 - Sound output randomly gets really quiet.

    Series 9 - NP900x3c

    This happens from any output, whether it is the speakers or headphones, basically the sound just gets really quiet randomly then restores itself after some time. I am unaware if this is some setting or whatnot, but I turned off anything that would automate during videos, or at least i thought I did. Any suggestions?

    I've never encountered anything similar and can't think of a cause. I would uninstall the Realtek audio driver, reboot and then install the latest version of this driver using SW Update.

    I figured this out, basically, it had to do with the mic. There is a setting that if the mic detects noise, the speaker volume is lowered so it does not interfere with it. Turning that setting off fixed the issue. I'm not sure how my mic was being accessed in some of these situation though.
