www.microanvika.com also sells samsung. Just bought R70 NP-R70A004/SUK there for 599pounds bargain!

R20 with T5300 2GB 160GB for 499pounds, also cheapest in the UK! They don't sell computers cheap normally, just got offer from last week.

That ain't completely true, did give samsung here in sweden a call and they did say that they don't have anything to do with samsung notebooks :(
That you have to ship it to the country were you did buy it from.

I am having some problem finding a UK shop that sell the Q210 and that dilliver to Sweden, i can find some shops in Germany but they are almost 2000 skr more expensive, most shops in UK sell the Q210 for about 650-660£ (about 7900 skr) and in Germany it is 995-1000€ (about 9 900 skr).

See this report regarding Samsung notebooks in Canada. It suggests a Q1 09 launch.

As for sources in USA, there's Portable One (which has some customisation options) and Newegg has some models.

The second most important question to what notebook to buy is where to buy it. Do you buy locally from a big box store or on-line? If on-line, from who?

A lot of the on-line stores are only selling boxed computers. Too many don't know the product. And too many aren't there for the consumer after the sale.

Regardless of who you buy from, it's always recommended to contact the store first. Are they competent? Do they have a good customer service track record? Is the notebook actually in stock? How long have they been in business?

For those who can't settle for something off the shelf, will the store customize your notebook for you?

    You can checkout on-line re-sellers at http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Portable_One_Inc.

This thread is too long for me to search... I'd like to know which local store in NYC has Samsung NC10. I went to two stores (one was Bestbuy) and neither had it. Since I've read so much about how good this netbook is, I hope to see a real one and try the famed keyboard. Anyone knows a store?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm in Canada and would like to drive down to Buffalo to pick one up since the NC10 will not be released anytime soon hear. Costco was carrying them but the NC10 has vanished off their website. Are there any major retailers carrying them? Thanks.

Expansys Canada lists the NC10. I don't know if the pricing is competitive.

Samsung and Amazon direct seem to be close since they are the only ones who gives a price of what the X360 sells for when they have them in stock.

Otherwise price is way too high.

Basically - DON'T buy Samsung. The quality of the screen is poor, the warranty they give is not worth the paper it is written on. A very substandard product with no service back up. :( :(

Such general remarks are no use to anyone. Samsung produces a wide range of notebooks and different price points and with a wide range of displays. The support and service network is there although I agree that customers have to try harder to get support than they do with companies such as Dell.

Okay I know Samsung is being sold here in the states now, but a few models still are not being sold here and I am kind interested in some. Specifically the Q230. I can't find too much specs about it, but best I can tell it comes with a full i3 cpu, nvidia gt310 gpu, and a 12in 16:9 display(is it glossy, matte, or ant-glare?).

Is it possible to get one here or is it not possible to get one stateside(California specifically).

It is not listed on the Samsung UK website nor at Insight. Do you have reason to believe that Samsung are planning to sell the RC710 in the UK? I haven't compared the specs but would the RF710 be the European equivalent?

Really disappointing: I read the information about the latest RF710 here and I really like what I see:

    SAMSUNG

island-style keyboard, 17 inch screen, seemingly satisfied users for the most part, comparatively decent price. No SSD option mentioned, but at least one of the reviews mentions modifying it. However, until I read this thread I had no idea that Samsung simply isn't available in the US. Should I avoid ordering from Dell just to protest their (apparent/alleged) role in keeping Samsung computers away from US buyers?

I'm disappointed that I can't consider really buying this Samsung. I'm reluctant to buy something that really can't or isn't sold and widely supported in the US.

You should have read more of this thread. The agreement with Dell has expired and Samsung has been selling notebooks in the US for the past two years or so. Current models available in the US in the 17" size are the RF710 and RF711. See the Samsung US website.

I've been wishing without much hope that it'd come out in a brick-and-mortar store... Where did you see it? I can't find it online

Anyone know where to get the Samsung NP700Z5A-S04US 15.6-Inch Laptop In Canada? Best buy will be carrying a NP700Z5A but it has a slower HD and no backlit keyboard. i called them to see what the remaining model type was, ie so4 etc, but they had no clue. Anyone else know where to get the backlit keyboard version? Thanks for your help!

I check the same model at canada computers and our version in canada "NP700Z5A-S03CA" does not come with a back-lit keyboard... the fn keys f3 and f4 i believe did not have any sort of symbol on them. Its strange because its like a version of america's "best buy" version, where there was also no back-lit keyboard... Im just hoping that they come out with one that has it soon. Also I noticed that on the samsung canada website, it does not mention anything about a back-lit keyboard.

I wouldn't rely only on the paper specs. Someone needs to get their hands on the hardware. Samsung's specs for the S01-UK model do not mention either the backlit keyboard or the express cache but a review of the model highlights the features. I suspect that the root cause is that the specs are written around a standard feature list and the non-standard features aren't considered.

Well, I did check at Canada Computers which listed the exact same model NP700Z5A-S03CA, and it did not have the back-lit keyboard. Shouldn't I be able to conclude that the same model at NCIX and on their website also not have the back-lit? I thought it would be false advertisement otherwise.
