    Hello all,

I recently purchased my samsung series 7, and absolutely love it. However, I've run into a few small issues.

1.) the system will occasionally lock up, and while the cursor will move, I cannot actually click on anything/ctrl alt del/power off/etc.

2.) (This is resolved, but still was an issue I faced) The preloaded image, and recovery DVD both would not allow me to get windows updates. I blasted it away and installed win7 pro anyway, as I upgraded to an SSD.

3.) I'm not sure why this is... but I assume that it's because my laptop is brand new... the bios preloaded is a higher version number than the one offered online as the most up to date version. Has anyone else experienced this?

Other than these few small issues, the laptop is amazing! I was almost turned away by bad screen reviews, but the screen is good for a sysadmin to do some server work in ssh shells ;)

I'll update this post if any other issues arise.

Note that the BIOS updater program isn't the update itself but checks if there is a newer version and will then install it if you agree.

This I know, I'm an IT professional ;)

The update that the software suggests is the latest bios is older than that installed on my notebook. This struck me as odd.

I won't try to install it, as it's probably either buggy or will fudge my system up.

I agree it's anomalous if the BIOS updater is offering an older BIOS than is installed. Perhaps someone forgot to update the database. I would pass the question to Samsung support and see what sort of answer they provide.
