    I have just bought a NP700Z5A-S05UK.

It is connected to an external monitor, USB wireless keyboard and USB mouse. As my laptop is connected to these external devices, I generally have the lid shut.

Booting up the device is very quick. However, when the Windows 7 log-in comes up, it takes probably 5-10 seconds before the USB wireless keyboard becomes active. I appreciate the computer is probably loading the drivers/waiting for the wireless link, but is there anyway of speeding this up?

I guess I can see three potential solutions:
    1. Disable username/password log-in for Windows. Do not want to do.
    2. Find some way of improving the loading of the USB drivers. Can these be prioritised in the boot, for example, so that by the time the log-in screen is available, there is no waiting?
    3. Have Windows boot to the desktop but have some other security access feature which is required to use the computer.

    Many thanks for your help!

Even with SSD, as Windows recover from Sleep state, they need to reload any external device. There is not much you can do unless Microsoft decide to change some mechanism of Windows on the next version or even on the next service pack. I doubt that there is a register key that allow use to minimize that. As I said, you could try SSD for more better loading than normal HDD, but there is still a latency before you could use any external device.
