I got mine for $500 actually directly from HTC. Even now its easily available for $600.
Really loving the phone for now, still need to take care of setting it up this weekend.
Also i think that the main reason for getting rid of the second speaker at the bottom was because of the fingerprint reader. I ,personally ,not a big fan of the one at the back. And would take the finger print reader over the second speaker. I barely ever take the phone off of silent as it is and never listen to music or watch videos without ear phones.

The N6 didn't have a user replaceable battery and it had no bass unlike Boomsound. The 805 was faster than the 808 but not a properly cooled 810. The Nexus 6P smoked the N6 in performance across the board out of the box. I had the 64GB Nexus 6 and went to the Note 5 and now to the 10. I don't regret it one bit. Also I'll take the fingerprint reader and capacitive buttons over onscreen buttons any day. It makes sense that the bezel is so large on the 10 because not only does it balance the top and bottom of the phone, the buttons are far enough down that I don't hit them without meaning to unlike the Note 5 where I constantly hit them when hitting the lower row of keys in SwiftKey. Drove me up the wall.
T-Mobile US released their first OTA today but the RUU isn't up yet. Hopefully we get the RUU next week. I am too lazy to just flash the phone with a TWRP backup, a stock recovery image, wipe, then OTA. I may just flash the firmware image though and see if the performance is any different from the US unlocked firmware I'm using now. -
I couldn't see it for $500 from HTC though...
The user replaceability I was talking abt was opening up and the job was easy, yeah not the pnp ofc
, 810 Was super hot CPU sure the perf was over 805 but It would throttle like in 2-5mins tops.
Yeah I don't hate the phone It's a good device but I hate HTC for not making a better one even they had the time and everything, btw the M7 designer left off to the Nextbit corp long back just to add food for thought..

There's a big difference between user replaceable and user replaceable your warranty is now void lol.
And no, the 6P holds its clocks just fine. The Snapdragon 820 has throttle issues though. They're not terrible but I really wish that flar2 would release elementalx with an undervolt option. He's said he won't be doing any undervolt work for the SD820. The only way to get the phone not to throttle quickly is for me to set it on the AC vent in my room lolAshtrix likes this. -
Coupons bruh. Even now a lot of sellers online are selling it for ~$600. No offense when i say this, but if people are willing to play $700-800 for a base iPhone 6/6s, then this is a steal.Ionising_Radiation, Ashtrix and hmscott like this.

Thats what the warranty is for, so that the manufacturing defects can be covered.

I didn't know where to post this but this place seems active with power users and normal users...Apologies if this doesn't fit in here.
Here's a sad news (Rumor as of now) - http://www.xda-developers.com/151309-2/
Now imagine if Pixel phone hits market, people will flock to them like iSheeple and the Infestation of unknowledgeable base increases rapidly making power users suffer again, damn this is repeating again, like the Windows10, BGA.
A ray of hope here is the OnePlus / Nextbit like companies who focus on AOSP type with full documentation and developer love, But unfortunately the human greed dominates, Samsung was like OP but pas SGSIII It was over, Full lockdown, I don't expect these to back but still have to be cautious as a group.
Wake up guys embrace the freedom, make a significant mark, only these things can force those immovable corporates !! don't think why would I need that X & Y just give it a shot and you'll know what you are missing.
God Help Us from destroying ourselves.
Peace, Sorry for the OT again.Last edited: Aug 5, 2016 -
Yea i read about its, basically because of manufacturer *****ing at Google for all its open ended platform, causing them issues due to "adventurous" users. Obviously Google isnt all that innocent, they want to tighten it grips over the manufacturers as well. Rumours of course

True that, most flagships are pretty much the same internally now.

Not only that, but for the past year or two, the new phones often are only incrementally/marginally better than the previous generation. Galaxy S6 vs S7? S7 is better, but it's not like the S6 is much worse.
I always felt Google would eventually get to this point. The MASSIVE fragmentation of Android (there's some estimates out there of around 24,000 different Android handset models) makes it difficult to get quality apps, a solid OS, timely security/OS updates, etc.
There's a price to pay for the freedom Android gives a power user, and it seems as if Google is on the verge of saying that price is too high for its tastes.
And let's be honest, for the VAST majority of users, they couldn't care less about all the modding/rooting/custom ROMS out there. Even the most tightly locked-down version of Android will still be far more friendly to customization than iOS, so most people will still be able to use widgets, choose whatever default app they want for texting/email/music etc. and choose various themes. In other words, most users won't notice nor care that Android will be locked-down, and therefore there will (for the majority of users) still be the exact same reason to have an Android phone instead of an iPhone.
It often sucks to be a power user. -
Yeah but if I'm going to be locked down, I'm going to the Apple camp before the Google camp. Better security. Google half asses their security, Apple doesn't mess around.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

Couple that with the halt in PC desktop/laptop hardware acquisitions due to the Windows 10 only lock down on new hardware support, and we're talking serious cash savings.

A good example is the implementation of fingerprint sensors: Touch ID is much better than Google's version.
Plus, it seems like both sides are converging on software. Google is becoming more restrictive while Apple is becoming more open (things like widgets and custom keyboards were a direct response to Android). In a few years, when software is so similar, it'll be better to go with the company that has better hardware/security/support and that'll be Apple.
It's just a shame that Google and Apple are copying each other rather than innovating. Microsoft seemed interesting with Windows Phone but that never got off the ground. But, it'll be interesting to see what happens in a few years -
