tried vsync. When enabled from sc2 game I do get the glitching/problems. When disable the glitching problems are limited (with the sli of course). I tried the lines in the variables to cap them to 30-60 and still get the glitches. When vsync is on from the nvidia control panel I only get 27-30fps but there are no glitches. I thought it was a vsync problem myself but could not find a solution.
PS For the call of duty modern warfare 2 I forgot to mention that anti-aliasing is off. My fps are 80-95. I get here and there 75 but thats for secs.

I wonder how my current laptop will handle CoD MW2 :/

RE: X300/ X305 CPU Fan. I see 2 different part numbers but one is less and looks the same visually. Is there spec differance of the VGA/CPU (AB0905HX-S03) fan v/s the others listed as CPU fan (DC280005CA0)? For example, is one rated at higher rpm or more air flow? Who has a factory 2 fan model to comment on part # or hole pattern of the 2nd fan? I'm guessing the SLI versions have the 2nd fan.
WiMAX ? Is the newer Intel 625-A WiMAX/WiFi 6250 "2 wire" half size mini card any improvement over the older Intel WiMAX 5350 "3 wire" full size mini PCI-E? -
I've got the 6300 on my laptop Lappie. Or I've try to get it to work... And as far as I've read it is a pritty good card. I do not think the 6250 is much worse then the 6300. But one more thing, when you with from full to half size PCI card the screws get's also messd up. I'll not be able to screw it tight. Or at all. I cannot do that so I've had to find up my own way to get it to stay there...
-
I didn't quite understand. Did you mean you did try to upgrade to the Intel WiMAX / WiFi 63 50 (hal size)? I thought the 6200 was already a half sized mini card, so no bracket needed. Also the 6200 is not WiMAX capable. Only ones that are I had are the 5150, 5350, and 6350. But I noticed the 6350 doesnt utilize the 3rd wire antenna so I was curious what they changed in it. If you were to want to install any of those half size cards in the ols X305/300 you need a adaptor barcket and it works fine. You bolt the mini card to it , then the metal bracket to the mobo.
-
I did not know it was any adaptor to that!! No, I've tried Intel Ultimate-N 6300.
-
My bad, I misread it but they are the same size as wll. Here's an eBay linkl to see what it looks like and under $5.00
bracket of mini half intel 6300 6250 wlan card to pci-e - eBay (item 130476704568 end time Feb-17-11 01:46:49 PST)
This will work with any of the new half mini cards on our X305/300's I like the Intel A533ANX WiMAX WiFi 5350 for the 3 wire N. Mobile WiMAX feels nice since I updated Intel drives for the Wimax 2400 connection just last week. -
Hmm, I've did a google search right after my post, so I saw that one, but I've also found something like this;
LinITX.com - PCIe Mini Half Size to PCIe Mini Adapter with SIM Socket
and this;
LinITX.com - PCIe Mini Half to Full Card Adapter -
I just tried the first special ops mission @ 1920x1200 everything max except vsync and I got about 120-150 fps.
Thats what i like about the COD games the look great and dont take heaps of power
Yes there is a difference in size, the additional fan that some of the x300s come with is the small one and the part number for the one i got is K000061950 -
Kenny, do you have CoD Black Ops?
-
Well when I try black ops on my qosmio I will let u know of how it is handling it.. For now I am happy with the cod mw2 result.
-
My laptop in signature makes about 30-40 FPS not stable in multiplayer. Somtimes dropping to something between 10 or 20 FPS, but it takes only about a millisecond to get back to normal. As you know
Are you going to get it on Steam? -
50-60 fps in single player here, can't remember the AA setting I used though. Probably 4x.
Also, I recently upgraded to an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD and it's totally cool. Blazing fast
Max read speed is 280 mb/s. Got a nice 7.8 in WEI. -
Those look cool. I don't know what the US dollar equals but the metal one is $4 so maybe those are less and could be better deal.
I was wondering about that. But if I don't have the 2nd GPU (and never plan on it), will the size of the other 2 part #s fit in the empty space (the area there the 2nd heatsink would have taken up)? I dont care if it doesnt look good , as long as it alighn up with the vent holes and stays put.
I'd like to change the CPU side fan for better max air flow under load or put my on thermister in cause it rarely comes on high untill it gets hot, no inbetween, just low and high, but passes through medium real quick. lol If I have my small cooling pad under, it nevers comes on high even if CPU gets a tad warm.

Do you mean Black Ops or MW2?
Also that is 0.3 WEI's higher then my SSD drive. I get 7.3 in WEI
Yep. I'm going to check if they ship to Norway, and if they do I'll order one as well. They have 38 in stock, no need to rush tou. -
Black OPS ofc.
Also if you get 7.3, my score is 0.5 higher not 0.3. Or is it a 7.5?
-
Do you play Multiplayer?
Ugh, yeah my fault. I get 7.5 which is 0.5 higher. I've just went up from bed, but now I'm fully back to earth
-
Nope, I don't since I didn't buy the game
Yup, I noticed xD -
Ah okay.
Dude, it is not funny anymore! -.-
I get 7.3. -
Ok. What is your RAM WEI? Asking because I want to know if this score is only determined the RAM speed or also by the amount of memory installed.
I might consider a 8 GB upgrade
-
Yeh I do, I'm getting about 70-100 fps max settings, I rarely play multi-player though. (Australian internet is so backwards we are paying $70 a month for wireless interent with 6gb of download, and the rest of my family get annoyed if i use it all up)
Any x300 with no second fan has the space for it it just depends on if you have the plug in your motherboard. The first fan cools cpu and gpu the second fan cools only the gpu. So your going to have to use your cooler pad or lower the your ambient temperature. Dont worry though the fan noise your qosmio makes is nothing compared to max fans on my m17x
Its determined by amount and speed i got a 0.1 increase when I overclocked my fsb from 1333 to 1400 -
How much WEI do u get on the graphics cards? Mine is 7,1 . Btw my hdd went from 5.9 to 5.8. Does that happen when its getting older?
-
I leave this here
Everything is in my signature
-
What brand and model of laptop u have?
-
It is a ASUS. But I have nearly changed everything in this laptop.
Parts I have upgraded is;
CPU
HDD
WebCam
Wireless Card
Added a 3th antenna
Changed RAM modules
Reapplied thermal paste
My to-do-list for this laptop is;
Upgrade to FULL-HD screen
Change keyboard to Turkish layout with backlit, somehow get it to work.
Change the WiFi antennas which came with this laptop to better quality to get best performance out of my 6300.
Change the FAN to a higher RPM, if I can find one at all. This is to give more overclock rom, as I'm going to costum flash the BIOS to edit voltage of GPU and if possible CPU. My tempratures are quite good with overclock, but why not get it even lower if it is possible? It is nearly impossible to hear my fan running atm.
Also a QX9300. But this is last thing I'm going to do. I must first find a better fan and I must check if it is any BIOS limitations.
And yes, I don't know why so many asks but it is my laptop on my signature. -
I don't feel like it's necessary to upgrade to 8GB tbh. Will do so if I find some nice memories at an affordable price.
My primary HDD has always had a WEI of 5.8, while my secondary HDD scored 5.9 (checked via command line). If your score dropped, maybe you should just try to clean it up a bit, as hdds tend to get a little slower while they age/fill up. -
Nice scores over there!
I've got 1333Mhz modules, which I found out hates to be overclocked -.- But I've got them quite cheap tou. It is G.SKill 8GB RAM Kit.
BTW, I've just noticed you're from Italy. I love that country, the nature, roads (saw that on topgear
), the girls
I've have a few friends from Italy, and they say the same. I have never been there tou
But one day, I'll, hopefully...
-
Might upgrade to 1333 as well. 1066 mhz here. But I need some that can be overclocked with the default voltage :|
And yeah, it's a nice place to live in
You should definitely see it.
-
I'm also looking for new modules with higher voltage. My father is looking for a new laptop so I will give him my 8GB Kit. Hopefully he will buy a laptop with DDR3 modules. His current laptop is DDR2. I'm sure he don't need that much of memory, but it won't hurt right?
EDIT:
My current modules are at 1.5 Volts, is there really anything higher out there? And I've need 8GB total, which means I need 4GB modules, 1333 or 1066Mhz does not really matter as long they can be overclocked.
judgment: Have you tried to defrag your drive? -
What about these?
8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 upgrades for Toshiba Qosmio X300-157 Laptop/Notebook, CT1613113 from Crucial.com
They also got 1066mhz CL7 for the same price
-
Those are still 1,5v?
-
Yup well I don't think it would have sense getting higher voltage RAMs since I cannot change the RAM voltage from the BIOS :|
-
I've played some Call Of Duty Black Ops now, and carefully watched my FPS. I can say that It is jumping somewhere around 30-50 FPS depending on what situation.
This is with overclock as in my signature. But there is onemore thing, here is the settings I play this game at, this is the highest you can get, right?
-
Hmm, but then we're stuck at 1,5v which does not allow me to overclock. I do not know if it is my RAM modules itself, or the voltage or the CPU from my Qosmio.
-
I made a clean install (not just with the windows 7 disc I have a program that wipes out the whole hdd from dos), cleaned the dust and still 5.8 where it was 5.9 . Anws I dont care cz I have it 2nd on the to change list to an ssd after I get my qx9300 in the easter! How did u get 7.2 in the graphics? Is it due to the overclock? Is it stable at those mhz? Thanks in advance!
-
I think RAM is limiting my current overclock, since the screen freezes right after I apply a 5mhz higher FSB :|
It should be the same for you... I guess you're currently running a 279mhz FSB. If this is right, then you should be able to bring it up to at least 300mhz without any CPU related problem. My t9550 is basically a lower clocked t9600, and I can get my FSB as up as 310 mhz on my nForce 730i (same motherboard as yours), which gives me a 3.25 Ghz frequency. -
I ran WEI with my benchmark overclock. It's not stable at those frequencies ingame. With stable frequencies, I get a 7.1.
-
Yep, you're right there. I'm at 279mhz now. I've just tried 300mhz and it gave me bluescreen immediately... :/ What now?
Did you upgrade your CPU after you bought the laptop or did it came with your Qosmio? -
Wait, I forgot you were using 1333 mhz ram, not 1066 as I do.
Forget what I said, it's either your CPU limiting the overclock (which is strange since my t9550 can go as up as 3.2) or your RAM being faulty, since that RAM should handle a 333 mhz FSB at least.
Also, my CPU came with the laptop. My only ugrade is the new SSD
-
I am considering buying 8gb of ram. Which ram is better for the qosmio x300? I know that it has 1066mhz but does it support 1333mhz? I am planning on overclocking so.. Which is the best for that if u know?
-
I do not think my RAM's are faulty. But simply they do not like overclocking, and 333Mhz is too high for my CPU and again causning a crash.
-
I've just bought this Lappie. Let's hope it 'works'
-
The "Crucial memory advisor" on their website says that it supports ddr3 1333 ram.
Probably they are not, but they should support a 333mhz fsb. Maybe then you might be right about your CPU. -
judgment: What do you mean? Your RAM modules will simply downclock to 1066 if the chipset don't support 1333Mhz.
exile.90: Yep, that is also what I think. -
I believe that nforce 730i supports 1333mhz. What I am asking is which is the best brand and timings to buy for 8gb ram ?
-
As long your CPU is at 1066Mhz your RAM modules will also keep that way.
-
The following ram is compatible but is it good enough? Is there any better brand that can give me better performance or overclock?
8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 memory module
CT1613311
Module Size: 8GB Kit (4GBx2)
Package: 204-pin SODIMM
Feature: DDR3 PC3-10600
Specs: DDR3 PC3-10600 • CL=9 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1333 • 1.5V • 512Meg x 64 •
Isn't CL9 slow? -
http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...grades/540080-looking-new-ram-sticks-but.html
I've made this when I was looking for new sticks.. -
I read the whole conversation but it didnt really help since I knew all of that. The fact is that my current ram is cl7 where as the 1333mhz is cl9. So I was just asking if anyone found any cl8 or cl7 modules 8gb ddr3 1333mhz ..
-
RAM FSB and Timings. The PM45 chipset most certainly suports 1333 in both CPU or RAM, I think it is the BIOS maker that loks those higher CPU/RAM ratios out. And in cause of Toshiba, like many, they also lock into the rAM Jedec spec of module @ DDR 1066 so even if we put 1333 9which I did) or 1600, which it certainly takes, it downclocks it to the modules Jedec spec for 1066, which is mostly gonna be timed 7-7-7-20. This even if you drop a 1333 FSB cPU in.
However, I did find out Kingston's HyperX have XMP profiles stored in to run DDR1600 9-9-9-24 but 1066 for us @ 5-5-5-15. You will need to find an app to exploit RAM Jedec profile specs. We had one a few years back I remember so I'm sure we can find it again. Only thing I cannot confirm is if the app allows change of vdimm because it certainly needs more at those tight timings and it will get wam as well. I think we'd need 1.64v vdimm. Be carefull with those apps on non XMP tested RAM because if you write in a profile not truely tested it will not boot and it's now locked in. The RAM would still be good but you'd have to boot from a mobo w/ sodimm suport to reflash from manual timings 1st.
