The T9900 would be a much better deal than the X9100 but the quad is better but way expensive...I didn't find one at hp parts but they're not in stock anyways, ebay has one for $630 while the T9900 is $450...I have about a month to debate this in my head...Due to the economic crisis there aren't any upper level classes at USM, so I do not have to pay for summer school, quad does look nice, but I hear the X9100 and T9900 both get better benchmarks than the quad...just because of the higher clock speed...multi core gaming hasn't taken off that far yet...yet...oh yeah, very impressive for the 9100...you should be pretty proud...how long did it take for you to do that?

There is a tweak in Windows 7--start>control panel>ease of access center>make it easier to focus on tasks>check the box "turn off all unnecessary animations"(when possible) helps alot .

    Hi guys,

I have a x305-706. It's basically dual 9800's with the main 9400 chipset giving me a total of three gpus. I have a big problem. My laptop almost always overheats when I am in game, any game, after about 10 minutes or so the laptop completely shuts off. I checked my temps with nvidia system tools and the 9400 is always 80+ and reaches 90 during gameplay causing the laptop to shut off to protect itself. I was trying to find out where the 9400 would be on this laptop so I can apply the arctic silver. I already have tooken off the case, but wasn't able to spot it. Is it on the bottom of the laptop maybe?(would be impossible to apply it then since the bottom doesn't come off)

If anyone can show me a picture of the 9400 or point out where it would be on the laptop it would be very appreciated.

Here are some pics of the laptop opened from the original poster:

I don't know if that helps any since I have a x305-706, but i'm pretty sure all x305's come w/ the 9400 gpu chipset,

Well, I put the T9900 in without a problem...my first processor swap job...anyways, it is now BEAUTIFUL...no lag in anything, imagine why...so now I think I have pretty much no limitations as far as I'm concerned... :D I'm very satisfied...

So is the only way to access the GPU to open up the keyboard and take out the entire motherboard to get to the underside? I have a qosmio f55 and i'm thinking of adding AS5 to it and cleaning it out.

I used to have a Qosmio F55 also and taking it apart the 1st time was scary, but then after doing it so many times, I was able to get to the CPU and GPU within 5 minutes. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

going to upgrade my qosmio x305-q715 with a qx9300. I was wondering if it runs much hotter ? also do I have to do a bios update or is it just plug and play?

I am curious a bit about the X300 motherboard especially the one with singe cooling fan. I was at the Service Center fixing my laptop from a manufacture defect and I asked the engineer to add another fan for me. He told me that there is no another power socket to provide power to the fan. I see you have connected it the main fan. Does that affect the original fan power ?

Also in this image what is this part I'm marking at ?

    Thank you :)
