Alex, are the components on your Q8102x the same as the Q894 (keyboard, screen, etc)? The keyboard was changed to matte in the Q89X generation, I hope Toshiba has the sense to keep it that way.

Ya. The q8102X looks exactly the same as my previous q894 (same keyboard, same screen, same annoying media keys :p ).

However, the inside is a bit different: 1333 MHZ RAM [q894 had 1066], 640 GB HDD [q894 had 500GB], SB CPU of course, and blutooth 3.0 [q894 had 2.0; actually really looking forward to this, makes blutooth mice as fast/if not faster than "wireless" mice].

Glad to hear your progress on your new Qosmio. I think the q8104X is a better machine than the q930X because of the improved HDD it comes with.

    Good luck guys!

Just ordered a new 8102X from Costco! Should be here next week! When I get it I will return my original 8102 that has run flawlessly and is fast as hell!

If Costco get's an 8104X within the next 90 days I think I will upgrade to it! If they don't I will still be happy! These things will handle everything you can throw at them and run very cool as well! :D

No, Not at all! It's very smooth and honestly only kicks on when I am gaming for a long time! It really is an impressive machine! ;)

Thanks that's all the verification I needed. I think this one has a "problem" CPU fan. Makes a constant throbbing noise [getting annoying]. Didn't know if it was a "new" fan for the SB CPU and it was just designed to be louder.

Except for the fan, this things rocks!!! I'll exchange it tomorrow. Thank goodness for Costco!

Whelp, just returned and repurchased; should be here Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Like I mentioned before, it ran great, just had a irregular fan (I think it was dying). Hope third times the charm [recall, bad fan, now].
