Best Buy just recently had these advertised at 1299 (/w 2 free "choice" games)
How, in your opinion or by facts, does this play the newer games such as Crysis and UT3?
Im concerned about the processor speed not meeting the min requirements. The Proc is only a 1.66 duo core. Most games require up in the 2.X for Duo Core.

I never tried Crysis on it, but Bioshock ran fine, Flight sim X did great, World in Conflict ran well enough in DX9 mode. For the money it's hard to beat it, that's for sure. I ran several benchmarks side by side with my SLi1, and it's not quite as fast, but wasn't slow by any means at all. And judging from running Crysis on my SLi1 testing without using the second gpu, so only a single 8600mGT, it did ok, not great, but nothing runs Crysis great, but was definately playable. The 7483 does have a slower CPU, but the single 8700 gpu is a bit faster than the 8600, so i would guess it would be about comparable, if that makes sense. So, I'd guess acceptable. Anything else though should run really well..... Crysis is just a tough one. Nice machine though.

BestBuy can't seem to fix my Gateway 7426GX so they are going to give me a new computer of equal or lesser value. I am going to use it for lite gaming (Orange Box) and video editing. My choices are the X205-s7483 or the 20" iMac (with the ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO).
If you guys had the choice, what would you opt for? -
The 7483 should run the orange box great, i'd go that way, but I'm just not a Mac guy so maybe I'm biased.....

Thanks for the heads up on the $1299 price. I bought mine about 12 days ago at $1499 and took my receipt back in and got $200 back through the Best Buy Price Guarantee deal.
