For those that have applied the BIOS fix, does the manual switching option automatically appear in CCC after the update?

What versions of CCC have people been running before updating the BIOS?

    Hi all,

Guys, do not panic about the keyboard, you need to reinstall all utilities from vpcca/cb290x fot it to work. Starting from sony shared library. So you need fresh install.
Glad it worked for you guys!

I will upload old bios backup later, now on vacation!

    All the best,
    Alex

I assumed it would be - but returning a 4 month old laptop back for full price ($1300) is a bit hard to pass up. And the specs on its replacement seem to blow my returned CB out of the water...

I'm glad a solution could be found for everyone who stuck with it though. I hope there aren't too many side effects from the improvised solution. Still, it's really disappointing to see that Sony hasn't come up with anything.

    Best,
    Cassy

    Sony eSupport - VPCCB290X - Drivers & Software

    after that

    Sony eSupport - VPCCB290X - Drivers & Software

Before that you should uninstall all utilities mentioned in above link
    •Battery Checker 4.5.0.02140
    •VAIO® Control Center 4.5.0.03040
    •VAIO Event Service 5.5.0.03040
    •VAIO Power Management 5.4.0.02180

    Restart and install new bundle.

Best of all is fresh install, sony shared library, utilities.

I can not upload extracted utils now, if there will be a check block upon install let me know. Very bad internet here now, but I will find a way to upload extracted files later on.

The Sony shared library installed fine on my CB190X but unfortunately the utilities has a check block and will not install for me.

I guess we will need you to work your magic again to extract the file...

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello, everyone!
I've made a decision to get a CB2S1 Sony's laptop. And I want to swap HDD for SSD. Intel 320 or 510 is a question. Sata II or Sata III is an answer.
I can't get any detailed specs on the laptop. It has HM65 board chip that supports Sata III but that's not a 100% proof, coz a lot of laptops that have it actually do not run Sata III.
Can anyone help me out on that info? Would be much appreciated!

"sata" and "ssd" thread searches found no matches.

So now that we got everything updated and working, i was wondering if there are newer drivers available for the 6630m?

Right now im still running on the stock AMD drivers from a few months back.

Are there also newer drivers for the intel HD3000 card?
