I have Protector QL Suite: 5.8.2 Build 4489 (newer). I don't remember where I downloaded, but I think I found it in this forum.
For the Infineon TPM: I have already the 3.5 where I downloaded from Asus website. I don't know if it's the same.

    I've found two more:
    SFEP Driver Sony_8.0G_8.0.0.1
    SPIC Driver_8.0D_8.0.0.1

Both work (Vista) on older (SZ) modells too.

    Unfortunately it's true.

Sry but i don't think they programs the software for each laptop.... i think they do the software like dell... there works all the software on all laptop modells....

Theres only the executable, but if you unpack it must work...
Please ask me what you have, and i upload some new versions, without the Model check...

**NHT, Please try the software in my first post, they must work!...

    PS: I updated 1st Post!

Does it work with Gecko based browsers (like Firefox and Seamonkey)? The version that came pre-installed from Sony appears to have this functionality (deliberately?) crippled.

As for Upek's right-click file encryption, with or without TPM set up, it's rather worthless unless you turn off Windows Restore. Encrypt a file, and you (or a thief) can still get the unencrypted file back simply by using Vista's built-in "Look for previous versions". It doesn't scrub old unencrypted versions from Windows Restore, which is a MAJOR security flaw.

Have you used the Password Bank firefox extension? You can find it here. I use the latest nightlys and it does not work for me for two reasons, the first being the executable filename (or window name) is hard coded into the software, second being that the plugin does not seem to support 3.2a.

I will have to find where I read that about the hardcode issue.

Supporting Firefox 3.0.x specifically won't help much if you don't use Firefox 3.0.x, though -- generic gecko (i.e. all Mozilla-based browsers) support would have been truly useful.
(I use Seamonkey, due to the lower memory footprint and less dumbed down configuration interface.)

    Wrong:

Go look at a file that you've had for a few days. Decide you want to encrypt it. If you use the UPEK software to do it, whether you use the right-click encryption or move it to the personal safe, you can still restore the unencrypted file in the original location in a few seconds.
That is VERY bad -- it gives users a false sense of security. Decent software will wipe the files from the restore history too.

Whats up with the intel chipset thing? i installed it and it says successfully installed but it did not promt me to restart or anything. I checked device manager and some of the system devices still states the old number of the intel chipset. I tried the 9.1.0.1014 one.

I noticed pretty much the same thing. I got around it using a manual install of the drivers (easiest for me after extracting the drivers from infinst_autol.exe was device manager -> select device -> update -> browse computer -> point to the extracted folder -> next -> done)

For those of us that like to stay on the bleeding edge it looks like Windows Server 2008 SP2/Windows Vista SP2 Beta (Release Candidate?) has been released here. As per Microsofts advice: "Windows Server 2008/Windows Vista SP2 Beta apply to people, organizations, and technical enthusiasts who are comfortable evaluating prerelease software. This prerelease software is provided for testing only. We do not recommend installing this software on primary or mission-critical systems. Installation of Service Pack 2 Beta will result in Microsoft collecting information about the installation process, even if the installation is not completed. We recommend that you have a backup of your data before you install any prerelease software." Also I assume this will have to be uninstalled before the official/final SP2 can be installed as is the case with most service pack betas.

Thanks for your effort +rep :)

But what are those Nautis drivers? I though the latest ones are still from Sorg. Is it some kind of his beta version? I would be happy to know what he has changed and what's different compared to the Sorg's one? I would be also happier if the graphic drivers would stay in the separated thread, as they're not official drivers and they're always needed to be tested and commented by many users...

Not much, some cleanup and Updated intel side drivers to 1637...
And yes that are nautis ones...
But i makes a driversigning package, to make all that easyer... and it's really easy to sign the drivers on X64 and i added watermark removers...
That drivers from Sorg, or Nautis... it same, that are much faster on my system... like 2x faster.... that why there are linked...

    Cheers :)

Interesting...when I updated the Vaio Event Service, the FN Volume and Brightness was not working. As it's not possible to download drivers from Japanese page I've downloaded drivers for Vista Ultimate from US site and it's working again (older version of course). I wouldn't think before I'd ask this question but...is it possible there's different version for Vista Ultimate?

    Metsn,
Ramalama pulled those from my server, they are a test package for my Hybrid Graphics Master Set which includes early support for BenQ and Fujitsu (our brothers/sisters with Hybrid Graphics.) The only thing new vs Sorgs package is the Intel drivers 1637. The drawback to it vs Sorgs package is that it is using the default Sony settings for compatibility reasons. This means no Hybrid Power options and none of the awesome taskbar switching Sorg added in. There should be minimal if no performance difference vs Sorgs. Those packages are made with compatibility in mind as I was looking for BenQ S42 and Fujitsu AMILO Xi 3650 notebook users to help test them out and make sure they work across the board before focusing on performance.

The one I posted from sony ( here) works fine under Vista Ultimate 32bit for me. I think that is the some one that Ramalama posted though. Odd stuff.

Well I was hoping to package the Hybrid Graphics Master set with a custom made installer (similar to DOXs new installer) that would give various configuration options before installing the drivers. The options for install would be Optimized/Compatibility. And then it would give further options for how you want Hybrid Power installed (Off, Automatic, Manual [sorgs taskbar icon], etc.) SOo behind though, I am working on instructions on how to make your own custom package, and helping other people along, while at the same time working on this package. Oh and my normal life/job...

Hi Metsn, i have like the same notebook :)
    Sony VGN-Z90S, C2D T9600 2.8 GHz, 13.1 1600x900, switchable graphic (Intel 4500MHD x GeForce 9300M GS 256 MB), 4GB DDR3 RAM, 320GB HDD, Blu-Ray Read/Write Drive, English keyboard, Gothic Arabesque Premium Design, WinVista Ultimate X64

Nice that i see anyone, with like same notebook, i have mine from geekstuff4u^^

And it seems like you say, that VES2 don't work on Vista X32 that i linked?
Humm, sry, but i have only Vista Ultimate X64, Win7 X64 and WinXP X32...
So i can only test on that systems....

But all the other software worked on your laptop?
So i can add VES2 for x32 vista in the 1st post....

PS: I use the linked in 1st post on Vista X64 and it works perfect....

    Cheers

I'll give a try. When I wanted to install that one, it says it can't find the previous installation to update. So I unistalled previous one, cleaned registry and installed new ones. Interesting is that the Sound OFF/ON button works, but not the volume and brightness ones....

That would be great. I'm not impatient as I'm completely happy with the drivers now, but of course I'm interested in your progress :) I can understand how is it not to have much time, as in this week I'm sleeping just like 3 hours per day...

Yep, I just went with the P-line processor, because as a road warrior I need as much battery as possible :) And also exchanged the HDD for SSD as I couldn't stand the vibration and noise... I ordered mine from SonyStyle Japan :)

I didn't install everything, as in fact I unistalled many services and tools to achieve maximum battery life and completely silent laptop. :)

If I remember well, things I updated without problem were Batery Check / ISB Utility, Setting Utility Series, Vaio Control Center, Vaio Power Management, Intel Chipset 9.1.0.1014 (Stable), Intel Matrix Storage Manager 8.8.0.1009 (this one is great, as the previous one from intel website caused big problems with my SSD), Intel Wireless Drivers 12.2.0.11 (I already updated before), Alps Touchpad Driver (7.102.303.107) and Sorgs package of graphic drivers...

Just with the Vaio Event Service 2 (4.2.1.12090) I was not successful...

I was playing more with the Vaio Event service, but I didn't find solution. The working ones contain one more file - BlockTmm.dll. The new version contains 5 new files - Activation.exe, Interop.NETWORKLIST.dll, mfc80u.dll, VESAutoDimmer.dll and VESColorMgr.dll. Combining these files didn't help.

I was also thinking about trying to find the one, which takes care of the FN buttons (and S1, S2 and Eject) and copying the old one...but it wouldn't be probably big help and it would be probably difficult to check if the other files are "working", as just the FN buttons are the most obvious...

    Hi
I have just installed the new driver [Unofficial Nautis] Nvidia 185.20 & Intel 1637 Hybrid Driver Set! (7.16.37.8520) -- Vista X32
on my Vaio VGN-Z21WN (EU model). Now I have the "Testmode" displaying in each corner of the desktop. Can I use the same method as described for Windows7/VistaX64 to remove these "testmode" signs? I am using 32 bit Vista Business as supplied with my Vaio. Thanks in advance

Oh, and thank you so much for these new drivers. I have been looking around since january for something like this. I have been complaining to Sony Denmark for weeks, because of the old official graphiccard drivers...

No, please don't use Windows 7 "Testmode" word fix.... for Vista....

Please ask me which language your os have, and which service pack?

    Example: Vista X32 SP1 German
    -----------------------------------------------------

    One other thing,
    I found Widcomm Bluetooth Stack v6.2.0.7400 Vista/Win7 X32/X64
    And WidComm Bluetooth Stack v5.5.0.6000

Can anyone find a newer one? or Can i Upload them?
