My AW290 came with a USB avermedia h826d HDTV tuner. I did not see the Windows 7 drivers on the Sony website. Avermedia said that they do not offer drivers for the OEM part. Does anyone know where to get the drives or if the Vista drivers will work?

    Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting AVerMedia Technologies, Inc. USA Office.

We do not provide drivers for OEM product. The drivers on our website are only
for our retail product and will not work with OEM product. I do not think that
the drivers from Sony supports Windows 7.

I had the same problem with my AW-190. However, after reading your post, I downloaded the Vista-64bit drivers from the Sony Support Website and installed them on my laptop that is now running Windows 7 home edition 64-bit. I had to run the setup twice (it failed to finish loading once), but in the end the Vista-64 bit drivers for the AverMedia H826D and the AverMedia A313 Minicard work perfectly and run in Media Center.

I had been trying to load the AverMedia drivers I downloaded from the AverMedia website. I never realized that the hardware version was different if it came directly from Sony.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks - followed your lead and it works for me as well. Just wonder why Sony doesn't list any drivers for this device under Windows 7. Maybe they haven't blessed them yet.

Hi. Is the "UPEK FingerPrint Sensor WBF Driver (1.2.0.183)" along with Windows 7 better than using "UPEK Protector Suite QL Software (5.9.2.5739)"? Does the UPEK software suite provide added functionality?

The other day I installed the UPEK FingerPrint Sensor Driver and the UPEK Protector Suite QL Software from the Sony eSupport website, but maybe I should uninstall UPEK's software suite?

EDIT: I just noticed that upeksvr.exe is taking 28,216 KB of memory (Private Working Set).

Hi. Has anyone tried installing "Synaptics TouchPad Driver (13.2.6.1)"? It installed just fine on my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit machine. However, in the folder where I extracted the ZIP file, I see MPG files for two-finger scrolling, three-finger scrolling, pinching, etc. However, in the settings for the Synaptics TouchPad, the Scrolling section only shows One-Finger Scrolling. Is there any way to enable more scrolling options?

    Hi Guys

Device Manager / Other Devices / Base System Device

I've no idea what this is referring to as the laptop appears to be running fine including Blu-Ray DVD, BlueTooth, Keyboard etc., as yet I've not tried the Card Readers as I know on my 13.3" Sony when I upgraded that to Win 7 I had the same problem and resolved that by re-installing Sony's software?

Could this be a similar problem or does anyone have another idea or approach to resolving the issue? Obviously gone through both Sony and Windows Update but nothing there has turned up.

    Many thanks

    Allan

    Hi Allan,

I had the same problem too when I did a fresh install of Windows 7. I'm pretty sure the problem went away after I installed the drivers for my SD / MMC, Memory Stick, and CompactFlash card readers.

It's been removed by Rapidshare because it's illegal !!

It's a download from Sony's drivers page. Anyone can download and use it without needing a serial key etc.

You don't need to use any setup programs. Follow the instractions under "How to Install" and let me know at which part you get stuck.

Mujja, I didnt get stuck in the end I just went to the device manager and told it which folder to browse in. Thank you very very much for all the drivers, they all installed without any flaws or issues!
Just one thing maybe you can help.
Using media center in W7 with my remote control that came with the AW all keys work fine except for the bottom two which are "select" and "close". I can´t do any of these with the remote, that is, cant select between apps or close the damn media center!!!
Any ideas, does this happen to you?
Thanks again for all W7 drivers.

Hey, I'm having a problem with my webcam after upgrading to win7. I'm sure this has been covered before but there are too many pages to sift through to find out. I can't find a 64 bit driver anywhere for the webcam, and the driver that you provide doesn't do anything when I run the set up. Also there is not an .INF file located in the driver folder so I can't manually install the driver. Any solutions?

    d3mncln3r,

There are no drivers for the webcam you can download from Sony. And there aren't any with the webcam software. Windows Vista & Win7 should detect and install the drivers.

In the past during a clean install the webam hardware hasn't been detected successfully a couple of times. I tried tracking down a driver on the MS site and tried various Sony drivers from different VAIOs and none worked. The only solution was to reinstall.

If a reinstall doesn't work then you could have a dead webcam.

    Hi! I guess I'm a bit on late, but... I've just installed Win7 64bit on my AW11S/B!
Everything went fine -more than fine, after installing XP on this laptop everything looks quite easy :D , but I have just a couple of problems with the graphic cards.
At first, I tried to install the latest drivers, which don't let you install them. Then I tried with modded .inf, it installed fine, with control panel, etc. There was just a little annoying problem: a BSOD due to the nvlddmkm.sys driver, that looked a quite common problem for nVidia and also without a clear solution.
I had to go down until version 188.67 to find a stable (until now...) version, but there are two problems:
    1) I have not been able to install the nVidia control panel
    2) The HDMI output is stuck at 720p, while on Win7 32 I was able to set it correctly to 1080p.

Any idea on how to solve this problem?

Anyway, everything else looks good. No problem for the other drivers, also function keys were working at once -almost a miracle.
