I called the Sony rebate center too, before I bought my VGN-Z590 CTO from SonyStyle, and was told that it qualifies for the bundle program. Unfortunately, I am unsure how to complete the online form. None of the models listed match my custom configuration, and there is not an option for other or custom -- I must select a model from the list. Moreover, my system box does not have a UPC code similar to the example, so I am unsure what to cut from the box to mail in.

I will call the rebate center again to find a solution.

Do most of you choose the extra battery, travel ac adapter and the sleeves or the other package?

Do you plan on selling it on fleabay?

I would go for the docking station bundle and keep it. Handy, but not something I'd shell out for (no big need for it, but I think I'd use it if I had it while at home). If I get an extra battery, I'd want it to be the extended.

For selling on eBay, though, the battery might be easier to unload than the docking station.

For docking station what is the good side of it?

I use a adapter to convert the HDMI on the Z to get DVI out of it for my monitor.

I just got my SR, and I see a invoice number on the fedex tracking page. It's also on the fedex shipping label at the bottom under the big barcode. its labeled "REF: and has a 15 digit number (not including a bunch of zero's in front of it).

I haven't filled mine out yet, but I'm guessing you would use either sonystyle or SSCS (sony style chain solutions?)

I'm in the same boat as several others. I bought a Z590-CTO off of sonystyle.com. There is no appropriate selection in the drop-down box, and I don't have a UPC to send in.

I've fired off an e-mail to the customer service from that page, so I'll let you know what happens.

I think chong67 may be able to help you guys out. He bought a Z540 (pre-configured & not really CTO but they should all come in similar black boxes) & received his rebate items a few days ago if I remembered correctly.

Yes SpeedwithJJ. I bought mine from pcnation and my extra battery, travel charge and a sleeve bag came within 30 days. The rebate said take 8 weeks.

Just remember to drop your rebate inside the post office, not those box off the side of the road or building. :D

Thanks for the info. I ordered my SR290 this weekend and I'll be getting it on Friday. Can't wait :)

If I end up getting a job from my internship I'll be traveling almost every month every year. So having a 2nd battery will be handy for flights/waiting.

I don't mind waiting for the items, although I'd rather have them ASAP :)

*I bought my laptop from SonyStyle* If I get my rebate sent in and completed I'll post any info I can.

Maybe only those pre-configued Z540 & Z590 (eg. Z590NFB, Z590NGB, Z590UUB, etc.) sold at the resellers would qualify. That is why this promotion is listed in the Sony B2B web site & not at the SonyStyle web site.

So is there a definite answer as to whether CTO orders are eligible for this rebate or not? So far we have conflicting reports from CS, some say they are and some say not.

Has anyone with a CTO order received their accessories from this rebate?

Thanks. Do you guys like the productivity or mobility bundle better? It feels like most here have no need for a docking station (same here), so the mobility seems more useful.

For a lot of personal and home users the mobility bundle is a better choice. For a lot of business customers who work in and out of the office frequently, having a dock for all the connections and the secondary monitor are a godsend.

That makes sense (has VGA and HDMI), because they just detach from the dock, and they don't have to keep plugging/unplugging the monitors and all the cables in.

I got a HDMI to DVI adapter and it works. A good place to get it is at monoprice.

The adapter I got make my Z titled a little on the right side. It is because my adapter is a little big.

You might want to get a short extension adapter.

I purchased my SR290 from sonystyle.com and there should be no problem getting the rebate. (Note: I did NOT get a CTO, I boughgt a pre-configured).

I emailed the support address and they said to just send in the pre-qualification paper (fill out online then print) and send in that, receipt and the UPC from the box.

I'm gonna drop mine off in the mail today.

Has anyone checked-up on this? I'm considering a CTO, but want to take advantage of this rebate. I looked at the on-line form -- it DOES allow you to choose "VGNZ Series" in the drop-down. It also asks for a serial -- if you order a CTO, do you actually get a serial number?

OK I just went back to the rebate submission site again. It no longer asks for specific model number instead it asks what series, as in SR series, Z series, etc. I think this is in response to CTO units that do not have a specific model number. We CTO owners actually might have a shot of getting the rebate now! Yeh!

I do not really need most of these extra goodies, although the dongle-less bluetooth mouse might be nice. Does anyone have any reviews on the mouse?

Also which bundle would have a higher resale value? I may sell off some of the goodies I do not need. Any good places to sell besides eBay?

I signed up for the rebate zone membership to try to get the rebate. During the process, it asked me my business name. What do you guys put in for that? In the space that asks for "End User's Business Name :", this is written underneath it.

*Name on invoice must match Business Name

How do you guys deal with this? Thanks.
