my items are scheduled to arrived on the 12th, i was wondering if i need to sign to receive or will ups just drop it off. Cause most likely i wont be home until 5pm on the 12th

I think sonystyle sent my neoprene cases via FedEx and I was able to go online and print out a form which authorized FedEx to leave them at my doorstep. I would think UPS would have the same type of thing. -
I did my best to follow all the rules to qualify. I purchased a z540 at an auth b2b site on Feb 17 and submitted online prequalification on Feb 20. Then sent in copy of invoice, original UPC, and online form via snail-mail. Just got confirmation today that they " have received my submission and it is valid. They are now processing my claim. Please allow up to 8 weeks to receive your premium item"
I chose the Mobility bundle...
Does it really take 8 weeks? -
Its easy, i just signed onto the rebate website, logged on, and click on track my rebate. From there i clicked on the rebate i was gonna received. In there it shows the info.

I am sorry guys for being lazy ...
..thank you

Got my stuff today. Sony received my rebate in the mail on February 2nd.
-
got my stuff today also, i was so excited. Turns out that ups just leaves it at the door if no ones home. Everything is great, love the case i got.
-
Cool..So it takes a minimum of 5 weeks to get all these...
-
Got my stuff as well. I thought I read earlier in this thread where people where saying they thought the A/C adapter was kind of cheap. I think it's actually kind of nice. The cord tucks away into the unit and its got the shiny 'Vaio' logo on 2 sides just like the one on the lid with tiny feet to keep it from getting scratched. It even comes with a case. What's the problem?
The Smart Protection case seems o.k. but I'll rarely use it, same with the A/C adapter. I'm stoked to have a second battery though. -
It's more ironic/amusing than anything else. -

I called sony promotion support center once to change my claim from Mobility bundle to Productivity bundle. The lady is very kind and helpful. She change the claim immediately.
It's a surprise that the docking station and power adaptor could be shipped so fast, since I saw they were both OOS.
Just for your reference, I have a SR290CTO, I submitted
1. the Rebate claim form
2. a colored copy of the service tag and COA located at the back of the laptop
3. the entire sticker including bar codes and configuration on the outside of the vaio box
4. a small stick with a bar code inside the vaio box
5. a copy of the Sonystyle order confirmation
6. two Fedex shipping tags on the outside of the box
7. Fedex packing list
8. a copy of the Fedex online tracking information -

I got it today!!with in 8 days!!! amazing!!!I started loving my mobility bundle...
-
I received the productive buddle this afternoon. An awesome and fast rebate.

I submitted my online stuff a few days ago, but have not yet submitted paperwork yet. I went to check my status and when I logged in, there was nothing under the status page? Is that normal if the paperwork hasnt been submitted yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It took them almost a week and a half to acknowledge they had received my letter! Then the status said my rebate had an error, so I just called and mentioned that I had a CTO and my understanding was that I didn't have a UPC code to mail in. The phone rep checked and confirmed I was good to go.
I ordered the productivity bundle. Can't wait! -
Thanks for posting sfiorito. I'll check mine, maybe that's what I'll need to do as well. I sent my papers a few days ago (after prequalifying online).

Hi Everyone,
After reading this whole thread I thought it might be helpful to summarize in one place what I believe is a comprehensive list of (1) the answers people have said they gave for the various questions on the rebate form and (2) what documentation they submitted. Following is that summary.
END USERS BUSINESS NAME:
1. ones self
2. optional
3. leave blank [I left it blank since a note at the bottom of the page says this field is not required.]
END USER'S BUSINESS TYPE:
1. leave blank [I left it blank since a note at the bottom of the page says this field is not required.]
END USER'S TITLE:
1. leave blank [I left it blank since a note at the bottom of the page says this field is not required.]
INVOICE NUMBER:
1. the one from the FedEx shipping form, label, or tracking website
2. Sony order number from Sonystyle
3. [I put the order number I received from PortableOne.com through whom I purchased the laptop.]
SONY AUTHORIZED DEALER:
1. leave blank
2. SonyStyle
3. [I put PortableOne.com since that is the dealer from whom I purchased the laptop.]
SONY AUTHORIZED DEALER ADDRESS:
1. SonyStyle address as shown on the shipping document
2. www.sonystyle.com
3. [I entered PortableOnes physical address since that is the dealer from whom I purchased the laptop.]
SERIAL NUMBER:
1. copy the number from the boxs sticker that also shows the specs [Thats what I did. My serial number began with S01.]
DOCUMENTATION OTHERS (AND I) HAVE SUBMITTED:
1. The prequalification rebate claim form filled out online and then printed. Form is available here: https://www.rebate-zone.com/default.asp?PN=SY00122k7&DirectID=26417
2. Receipt / invoice / order confirmation printed out from sonystyle.com or the vendor from whom you purchased the laptop.
3. The entire large panel from the laptops box showing specs, the UPC code, and the laptops serial number. [Some bright person in this thread suggested that you score the cardboard with a sharp knife, which then allows you to peal some of the cardboard away with the sticker adhered to it. Works like a charm.]
4. The single barcode sticker found somewhere inside the laptop box, usually on an inside flap.
5. A color copy of the bottom of the laptop.
6. The packing slip that came with the shipment.
7. The FedEx label that came on the outermost box in which the laptop was shipped.
8. A copy of the FedEx tracking information showing delivery, printed from FedEx.com. -

Claim Status: Received, Submission is being processed
I also have the Z690 CTO. Mailed in the prequalification form, invoice from sonystyle.com, the entire large panel from the box(not that hard to peel off even without cutting the box), the barcode sticker on the inside flap, and a copy of the bottom of my laptop.
Didn't have to call them. In the email that they sent me it says, " We have received your submission and it is valid. We are now processing your claim." So I assume they are going to send me the the docking station with other goodies in few weeks? based on you guys' experience dealing with Sony rebate.
Update:
Nevermind. I think they shipped it already. Didn't see it at end of the page:
Description: Wireless Bluetooth Mouse (Black)
Quantity: 1
Description: Stick AC Adapter (3-pin)
Quantity: 1
Description: Docking Station
Quantity: 1
Shipped Via: UPS
Submission Origin: Standard Submission
Cheers! Z690 CTO with $300 off for 3 year warranty and 2 accessory + bundle rebate indeed work like a charm. -
I just wanted to let everyone know that Sony has extended this offer again! New dates are:
4/1/2009 - 6/30/2009 -
just got my productivity bundle!! this is great, I can't believe I just got $370 worth of gear for free. i'm so glad i got this Z instead of sticking with the macbook!!
the stick AC adapter is pretty nice. it's longer than the standard one, but not by much. it also comes in a nice case.
-
The Vaio Z screen easily blows the MacBook's screen out of the water!
-
-
I purchased my vaio SR in December and am just now seeing this, haha. I just sent in for my mobility bundle and will report if all goes well (and if I remember)
-
Go over to MacRumors forum & you'll see that quite a number of fellow MacBook owners have the same feeling with me regarding the poor quality of MacBook screens.Maybe I should have just gone for a MacBook in the first place. Going from the Vaio Z to the MacBook, the screen is just...
By the way, I'm not one to say something is good when it is not, even if I own that item. -
-
To be honest, the main thing good about MacBooks is simply just the OS, no?And if you compare the price of MacBooks & Vaio Zs, then Vaio Zs are not any more expensive than the MacBooks & one have to admit that it is built better (at least this is what I think). So based on my usage patterns, if you compare price to specs/configs, then Vaio Z will be better without a doubt (plus factor in the fact that I mainly use Windows OS).
-
I went from a unibody Macbook to Z, and agree that the Z screen is far better. The higher resolution for me is great. More importantly, the Z doesn't feel as "limiting" as the Macbook (ports, expansion options, etc.). As far as price, I got my Z for about $100 less than the Macbook, but with the Z I got this rebate bundle.
-
Should I be nervous (I am) that Sony hasn't acknowledged receiving my paperwork? I shipped it in a priority envelope 3/28. It still just says "Received Online Pre-Qualification" for status. :/
-
It took a week and-a-half for them to acknowledge they received my paper work. In fact, I called them multiple times and they had no idea if they'd received it or not. It just suddenly popped up. Don't worry, they're just slow.
-
-
I think you should be fine with either one. Personally, if I have a MBP right now & not a MB, I'll definitely keep the Mac because the screen on the MBP is really good. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the MB, especially when one has used a Sony Vaio notebook for quite some time before switching over to the MB. -
What is going on to the website. I can't get to the rebate website anymore.
-
-
-
Man, I don't have to UPC. It was submitted for trade in.
-
CTO's don't need a UPC. I just mailed them a copy of my order confirmation.
URL is http://www.sony.com/vaiosmb -
yea, if they deny you tell them you have a cto and they will let it slide
-
Btw, I just got my docking station, bluetooth mouse, and AC adapter today.
UPS delievered yesterday, but I wasn't home at the time.
I can't believe it only took me a bit over 2 weeks to get the goodies from when I mailed out everything.
Apps Mailed out on 3/19
Package was delievered on 4/6
Kudos for Sony! -
i think its much faster now since theres less applications to process, congrats on your rebate
-
Looks like they have pretty much the same promotion going on again.
