DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY GOOD TECHNIQUES TO REVIVE A DEAD PIXEL? I'VE HEARD THAT IT IS SOMETIMES POSSIBLE TO MASSAGE ONE BACK TO LIFE... HAS ANYONE BEEN ABLE TO DO THIS? WHAT'S THE SUCCESS RATE?

A dead pixel is like a short circuit, you can rub it back into place usually (the same way you can fiddle with a headphone jack to make it function correctly). I have fixed loose pixels by using my thumb and and rubbing in a counter-clockwise motion with a fair amount of pressure. After about 20-40 seconds it was corrected. This doesnt work on all of them, but I have found it to work very frequently.

Another theory is that you can get a program to run which goes through every color in sucession-- taking hours to finish. Apparently this has worked in many Apples (seems like that program is only available for MAC OS) However, it discredits the "short circuit" technique.
