I am trying to install latest Driver files for Sony VPCZ128gg for windows 8 as Sony will not release drivers.

I have attached the windows 7 INF file as a text doc for version 188.80.

If someone can help me out with the modified files.

I have my VAIO VPCZ125GX with geforce GT 330M graphic card. unfortunately sony says this model is not compatible with windows 8 which is quite weird!

Can anyone advise if i can get any of the NVIDIA Geforce drivers modified in order to use it with my laptop?

sushifrito, I have the same Vaio notebook... However, I don't understand how can I replace the INF file...
I downloaded the driver 306.97 from nvidia site, and your modified INF file...

Where can I put the INF file? I don't find the same file in the NVIDIA folder to replace it...
Could you send this instalation step-by-step?

I'm attaching a modified (with the instruction from above, thank you) nvac.inf for NVidia 310.90 International Win8_Win7_Vista_64bit drivers that works for my Vaio VPC-CW1S1E with GeForce GT 230M. Maybe someone will find it useful. Brightness controls work perfectly.
If you encounter problems during install (PhysX and HD Audio fail to install), the most likely cause are the leftover McAfee virus scanner drivers/files/whatever.

    ETA: I have Windows 7 64bit.

the only thing you can overclock is your vcard. Try downloading nvidia inspector. There is a guide from here that has the settings on GPU Clock/Mem/Shader.. if i remember its 550mhz/700mhz/1200. I've tried this on my z1 but expect higher temps upon doing this.

I have installed successfully using this mod that you provided. But The desktop is blurry and when I go to screen resolution, even though I selected 1366*768, it says my actual resolution is lower than 1280*720. I am having this issue ever since I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8(reformatted it thrice). Can any one help me fix this issue? I had tried from laptop video2go too.. but same problem :(.

Been trying to figure out how to modify the drivers myself, but have been unable. Looking to install 314.22.

    Vaio VGN-AW310J Windows 7 64-bit

    Geoforce 9600M GT

    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649&SUBSYS_9040104D&REV_A1
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649&SUBSYS_9040104D
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649&CC_030000
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649&CC_0300

Also will the one modified inf be enough or will I need this modded inf along with the modded inf from lap2go or somewhere as well?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, like Emperoreddy I am looking to install 314.22 and haven't so far been able to figure out how to produce the modded inf's myself.
    My laptop is a VPCCW1 Windows 7 64-bit with Geforce GT 230M

    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A2A&SUBSYS_905E104D&REV_A2
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A2A&SUBSYS_905E104D
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A2A&CC_030000
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A2A&CC_0300

I would be very grateful if someone could post a suitable modded inf for me, or else direct me to where I can find one.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I have the Sony Vaio VGN-AW41MF/H laptop Windows 7 64-bit with Geforce 9600M GT. After reinstalling Windows 7 64-bit, my nvidia card could not be recognised by the OS so i followed what was suggested in this thread. I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers 314.22 and replaced the nvszcn.inf file in the Display.Driver folder with the one i do attach here. This way i managed to install the nvidia drivers and my nvidia graphics card was recognised. BUT I can tell that the quality of the videos is not the one it used to be although the nvidia card is typically running. In other words my card now under-performs. Is there a more suitable .inf file that can fix this problem? I strongly thank you for your consideration on this matter.

    Hardware IDs

    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649&SUBSYS_9040104D&REV_A1
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649&SUBSYS_9040104D
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649&CC_030000
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649&CC_0300

This is where i downloaded the nvszcn.inf file from:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/att...dows-7-clean-install-guide-vaio-fz-nvszcn.zip

P.S. Emperoreddy hope that this helps

I have a Sony CW27FX with a 330M video card that I'm having trouble updating.

I've already tried the drivers to go with the modded INF file from this post, but I couldn't even get past the verification. :(

I'm hoping to upgrade to driver version 257.21 or newer so that I can use CUDA in a video editing program I'm using. If possible, it'd be best if the brightness settings remained functioning. I managed to upgrade to version 259.47, but that killed the hotkeys and any way to change screen brightness. Plus, my system actually felt a bit sluggish.

I don't know what info to share to get the proper help, but I hope this is a start: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A2B&SUBSYS_9072104D&REV_A2

So quick update and info for anyone that cares.

I managed to upgrade to version 266.64 and have been error-free and with working hotkeys. :)

Despite other versions being advertised as being compatible with my video card and specific system, this was the only one that actually worked.

FYI: This driver version and upgrade were for my personal needs, and not even for the latest and greatest driver version, but I'm just leaving the info here for future reference in case anyone wants to try.

First of all, thanks for your help!
Yes, my laptop (VGN-Z31MN/B) is switchable hybrid grafphics.
I saw that Andrew08's drivers version aren't new and I don't know if they can solve my "problem".
I have a new monitor with 21:9 resolution (2560 x1080) and the "original latest drivers, I have" (8.15.11.8684) can't obtain this resolution.
Obviously, I want to improve my monitor ... if it's possible!
Then, another question, sorry , if I mod the latest drivers (file NVSZC.inf), following the instructions that I saw in tjis forum, I can use the latest drivers of Nvidia?
    Thanks, again.
    King regards,
    Opacli.
PS. I'm sorry to be so "confused" but I am a newbie in this.

Switchable hybrid graphics is a different animal. The technology has been abandoned by all players - nVIDIA, INTEL and Microsoft. The drivers posted by Andrew08 are the latest ones that work. Newer drivers just don't support the technology at all.

An alternative is to use a BIOS hack that gives you the option to change your graphics switching policy from dynamic to static. If you go down this path, you will have to reboot each time you need to change the graphics mode (flip the switch, and reboot). The advantage is that you can use much later drivers. If you want to try this, look up ComputerCowboy's thread regarding this. (Note: not sure if it is available for the VGN series; I have a VPCZ1).

    Hallo,

I own laptop Sony Vaio CW1S1E... A few weeks ago laptop crushed and I had to recover my Windows 7 to clear start... After this, all was fine until I get update of my Nvidia graphic card.. After this I'm having trouble and a few times per day message over graphic card failure ... There's no further update of my Nvidia - just this I have from 2010 . Now I came back to factory driver from 2006 .. this one works fine but... it's really to old.... I'm not super handy with computers... I read the instruction about how to modify nvidia drivers for Vaio ... but there's still one point I can't go through ... I downloaded the latest drivers from nvidia - but ... How can I get into this drivers to exchange .inf file??? Downloaded file is .exe file ... someone please help me .... Instruction for "dummy's" wanted ;)

Just run the exe file and let the installation fail. The installer will unpack the exe for you. Look for it on your C drive in a folder named nvidia. Browse there and edit as per instructions. Remember to run the setup from the main directory, not the one that contains the inf that you modified.

Why did you download the Windows 7 driver? Scroll up in the OS list and download the Windows 10 64 bit driver. Just run the exe file and let the installation fail. The installer will unpack the exe for you. Look for it on your C drive in a folder named nvidia. Browse there and edit as per instructions. Remember to run the setup from the main directory, not the one that contains the inf that you modified.
