I play 3D out to my 3D Vision Ready projector. I used AnyDVD and Stereoscopic player with 3DVision glasses and emmiter.
I don't have an internal BD drive anymore but when I did it worked fine. I have two external BD drives, I rip the Blu-rays to ISO images and play them from hard drive.

If I search for the line "PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A29&SUBSYS_9067104D" in the nvszc.inf file I can't find it. Since I don't really know what I'm looking for
, is it normal? Does it change for every laptop?
Anyway, the 295.73 drivers are working great (except for brightness), tested with games and external monitor via VGA. -
You can just use the modified .inf from laptopvideo2go.com.
It'll work just fine, including brightness control and everything else. No need to go manually modding drivers at all. -
I used the modded .inf from laptopvideo2go (i substituted the nvwi.inf in the "Display.Driver" folder), but the brightness control still doesen't work.
I uninstalled and used driver sweeper before installing the drivers again. -
Hm, weird, that did do the trick for me...
-
Do I need to do anything special or can't I install 295.73 on my Z1 ?
Haven't installed any drivers in a while, but i'm looking to make a upgrade since i've found myself playing some new games on my Z like Microsoft Flight....
EDIT: Got it working..... -
Also the brightness control on speed?
I tried again, as I found the nvszc.inf two lines with at least "9067104D", referring to section023 and section024 as Jpcony wrote.
I followed his instruction (at least I think), here's what I did:
1) Found the two lines with "9067104D" in them, referring to section023 and 024.
2) Patched the drivers with ComputerCowboy tool.
3) Added the two lines from nvszc.inf at the end of [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.0] (section023) and [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1] (section024) in the nvam.inf file.
4) Added the line HKR,,EnableBrightnessControl,%REG_DWORD%,0x1 at the end of [nv_miscBase_addreg__12] in the nvam.inf file.
Uninstalled the old drivers, sweeped in safe mode and reinstalled, but still no brightness control...
-
.. ur right. i was just trying to dock into hdmi and output to my external monitor, failed
and then i came on here and saw ur post, and yeah brightness doesn't work either..
what to do now?? -
.ok i am get the external monitor to work with reboot but brightness still dont work how to fix? -
I still can't get this to work - what's the latest driver that I could install and still get brightness control to work?
I notice my keyboard backlight dont work either now with the very latest drivers
295.73
so i am going back to like 285.38 until someone can help me out here.
i don't use the ambient light sensor at all. so i am not worried if that in particular don't work..
i use bios hack and vga static. -
If I remeber correctly they are the 285.79.
The keyboard backlight is still working fine for me, even with the light sensor when using the nVidia card. -
Hello,
what ist the trick to get this driver installed on Windows 8?
When I try to install it fails when the graphics driver should be installed. Reason: unknown.
If I try to install it with the devicemanager > update driver it fails with: Hash could not be found or cab has been modified.
Thanks for all the work so far.
best regards
KirK -
I don't know, but I am going to do this all over again real soon. I am going to be installing the latest BETA of Windows 8 this weekend. It works great on my P so I need to get it on the Z right away.
I'll let you know what I come up with -
Brightness controls work well on any of latest drivers, including 295.73 if you just remove this string from [nv_miscBase_addreg__14] in nvszc.inf file:
HKR,,DDIBacklightControl,%REG_DWORD%,0x00000001
As for me, I also put (actually replaced the whole set) here all parameters from corresponding inf file of hybrid drivers (263.14,except hybrid section),as there are some parameters that were obsolete both here in nvsvc.inf and nvam.inf (in [nv_miscBase_addreg__12] section there). The last trick way with nvam.inf was discussed earlier in this thread, but in that section (addreg_12) - too small set of parameters seemed strange to me.
Everything works great, including on-the-fly connection of HDMI ext-monitor. -
If you post your .ini files would they work just by substituting them?

You can try this file for 295.73 (Verde version).

Thank you! I tried and by removing that line the brightness controls work again!
I haven't tried with HDMI yet, as soon as I'll do I'll keep you guys posted. -
Thanks. looking forward to your resolution. I haven't been able to get this
important feature with the latest driver yet......
None of the steps above are working for me.. not even removing that line from the file DDIBacklightControl ... nope....... nothing.
But everything else works. -
On Windows 8? -
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit -
Hey any luck with the driver yet? I need to get brightness working on the latest driver.
-
Everyting works well if you:
1) Use Verde 295.73 driver
2) Apply ComputerCowboy patch.
3) As I've wrote above, before installing the driver, just remove this string from [nv_miscBase_addreg__14] section in nvszc.inf file:
HKR,,DDIBacklightControl,%REG_DWORD%,0x00000001
Or you can use my nvszc.inf, posted above.
Several people successfully tried the method, just check you are doing everything in exact manner and let me know!
-
Holy man.
It actually works so easily. Thanks so much. I've been going on with this problem for about 2-3 weeks now! THANKS!!
Oh yeah... this is working on the yesterday's driver 296.10 <--
So why not upgrade..
+Repped -
You're welcome!
-
Just to re-confirm, anyone trying to install the latest drivers as of this word (296.10) - just follow imbariv's instructions/post and you will get through. In summary:
Apply CC (ComputerCowboy) Patch tool on your C:\NVIDIA\ or wherever you extracted nvidia-drivers folder to.
Then open up the appropriate .ini file in notepad, find and remove the appropriate Line.
That's all, then do a Clean install of the drivers.
Usually don't even need to reboot.
I'm sure ComputerCowboy could simply incorporate that extra step in his little C# program when he gets the time, or anybody with C# knowledge could just get his source-code and add that feature, crediting him of course.
So there you have it. Thanks again to all involved . -
After patching the bios and patching and installing the latest 296.10 drivers as recommended everything works well for me. Thanks everyone for your efforts!
However I am having a big problem with Stamina mode: I have tried to purge any old drivers from the system but as soon as I attempt to boot the intel gpu win7 (x64) refuses to startup completely, it hangs with the windows logo or in safe mode after loading all the drivers.
If it change the bios setting to dynamic it will behave the same for Speed mode so I guess there might be something remaining from previous drivers, but searching registry for "igfx" stuff and manually removing them does not help. Could there be some hybrid "glue" somewhere? (Same problem even if I have uninstalled nvidia drivers)
Before the bios mod I used the unofficial hybrid drivers with good success, but with the static bios setting this was really what I wanted from the start.
I guess a reinstall would fix the problem, but I rather not do that as it would take me days to restore everything... -
I am working on a super duper new version of the patch software, I am testing it now. I'll upload it soon.
-
OK here it is, I updated the first post also.
The program allows a choice of 3DVision support or VGA support. I don't know how to make both work. If you choose 3DVision it does the very old school aggressive replacement. If you choose VGA it does the specific replacement of a couple lines.
I use the 3DVision version but I set VGA patch as default in the program.
Note, it is one or the other. If you do the 3D patch you can't do the VGA patch unless you extract the drivers from the installer again.
BACKLIGHT WORKS ON BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I tested it with the 296.10 drivers. Should work for any drivers. Not sure about Windows 8 drivers. I'll mess with that soon enough. I've been meaning to put 8 back on the Z.
VAIO_Z1_330M_INF_Patcher.exe Version 3 (latest methods and old school methods)
VAIO_Z1_330M_INF_Patcher.src Version 3 (latest methods and old school methods) -
Great! Thanks a lot!
Meanwhile I installed the 296.10 drivers with the old patching method and by removing the line from the .ini file and everything works fine on Windows 7 Professional x64. -
Got it working!
I opened msconfig and prepared a startup with nothing selected, this got me into windows in stamina and thus allowed me to install the latest unmodified intel driver. After this i restored normal startup in msconfig and since then everything seems to be working like a charm. -
so.. what driver is working with win 8?
I stuck at "graphic" option. -
gotta download the windows 8 driver for windows 8
NVIDIA DRIVER for Windows 8 Preview -
already, but it says that it could not find nvidea hardware.
Also there is no device in device manager.
of corse graphic in bios is static and switcher on speed. -
Well you still gotta hack up the INF files...
I don't know if my patcher works on the windows 8 driver, but there is no harm in trying... -
"I don't know if my patcher works on the windows 8 driver" not working.(it says "patched 0 files")
If replace inf file with file from laptopvideo2go the driver setup get error "the required files are missing"
Does anybody have working inf? -
did you use my latest v3 patcher? if so try it again but patch for 3DVision instead of VGA. The 3D Vision patch is much more aggressive and it doesn't care about file names at all.
-
it was patched with 3dvision but the problem is same:
-
Interesting... I guess I'll have to install Windows 8 to get to the bottom of this.
-
It looks like all video drivers are having the same error, except the default sony hybrid
-
Didn't someone mention that Windows 8 doesn't like unsigned (hacked) drivers? I remember reading a workaround someone posted. Might be worth looking into.
-
patch3 working good for win8, it must be installed after restarting in Disable Driver Signature Enforcement mode!
-
Did you use the VGA or the 3DVision Patch?
-
tried both and drivers 296.10, 295.73, the only one failed after restart
(296.17) - probably because of wddm 1.2 beta -
so you aren't sure which one worked?
I am thinking that the VGA patch won't work for the new stuff, because it looks for very specific lines in specific files.
The patch that works with 3dVision just patches anything it finds in any INF file. -
no, I'm sure - both working, firstly I patched it with vga option w/o any problems, then tried 3d - the same good behavior, just note for myself that 47 files was patched in 3d mode, while in vga - only 2..
-
That makes sense
