Any updates? can anyone tell me anything about the performance difference from the 188/190 series and the 260 series ?? in any games or like please.
thanks, 3dmark06?

3dmark is a very old graphics benchmark and no longer relevant for its major purpose. Nowadays, it's mostly measuring CPU speed so updating drivers will barely affect it.
-
Well, with no other solution I could find, I tried using my VirtualBox installation of XPSP3 (which has Avira installed, and that sorta worried me). I just ran DSOE from there and signed the drivers outside the system drivers folder (my Win 7 x64 system drivers folder) and voila, it worked. I copied into my system folder and rebooted, and everything's working just using test mode. This is just FYI for anyone else who might be having problems with DSOE working.

Ready for another round of testing? Lets see what I messed up this time shall we? You will noticed that I included a 64bit version of 260.61 with these, I am not sure if there is too much difference between 61 and 63 but I have seen reports of some people who prefer 61.
Goodluck.Unofficial Hybrid Graphics Drivers (VPC Model Vaio Z11/12 Only) Nvidia Version Intel Version OS Version Driver Link 260.63 (8.17.12.6063) 2202 (8.15.10.2202) Windows 7 &

Windows Vista64bit Download Important Information USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. These are completely untested, so they may not install properly. Try these without signing first if they don't work then sign them. I have included instructions for those that may not know how to sign them.
Driver Signing & Test Mode for Unofficial 64bit Drivers
1.)Download Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider
2.)Disable UAC (Can usually be done by typing MSCONFIG in run and going to the Tools tab. You can re-enable it after installing the same way.)
3.)Run the Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider and choose "enable test mode"
4.)Reboot. (You should see Test Mode at the bottom right corner after reboot.)
5.)Run the Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider again and choose "Sign a System File"
6.)In the box type "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys" and click ok (do not include the quotes.)
7.)Click "Sign a System File" again and this time put "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\igdkmd64.sys" (do not include the quotes.)
8.)Reboot and all should work.
You may need to set PhysX to your Nvidia GPU (instead of CPU or AUTO) in the Nvidia Control Panel in order for PhysX to function properly.

are these only for Z11/12 ?
what about us older vgn-z users ? -
Looks like they still need to be signed. Only tried 260.61 x64 so far.
edit: also, I still need to reinstall the Realtek HD Audio drivers for sound to work -
@Blahman
same thing happened to my Realtek driver...
@nautis
downloading - test - feedback...
will take sometimes... -
Whoops forgot the HDAudio install trigger. I will make sure to include it and make it set the GPU as default for PhysX in the next INF.
Working on the 64bit and 32bit for VGN-Z and others right now. -
One other minor point, in the Programs and Features, the Hybrid Graphics Driver doesn't show up in the same area as the NVIDIA HD Audio/nView/PhysX drivers anymore due to it no longer having the word NVIDIA in front. At first I thought it wasn't there at all, but I just had to scroll up to find it.
-
I just installed the 260.63 x64's and did not have to reinstall my Realtek HD audio drivers, did you already update the installer?

I am very excited to be receiving a Sony VPC-Z12 in a few days. I have been reading up on it as much as I can and stumbled on these forums. I am one of those people that likes to get my computers in optimum condition, and that includes removing all the bloatware and upgrading all the drivers.
I have a pretty basic question. What is the advantage of upgrading to the latest unofficial beta drivers in the original post? Is it mainly optimizations in graphics performance, ie games will get better framerates? Or are there new features introduced that are not available in the ones that ship with the Sony. Also, is the current iteration of these drivers (ones posted on 9/18) stable and relatively bug free? I would like to get better performance but not if it means I will be experiencing a lot of lockups, etc.
Thank you very much for your help. -
Yes to all points, the drivers that ship with the Z11/12 don't have CUDA and some other stuff, newer graphics drivers contain optimizations and bug fixes for games, and with the 260.63's I have been using for several days now I have not seen any issues.
-
Thanks for continuing to work on this. For those of us who have your last set of 260.63 running (for me, with your 2nd inf), can you tell us what's new? Is it just that the drivers might not need to be signed, or is there also an updated inf, and what should we be looking for?
Also, where are discussions of which set is preferred (.61 or .63 - can't see anything relevant on LV2G), and is .63 still beta and is .61 not beta? Thanks. -
This Driver can run Benq joybook S42??Last edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015

Hi,
i just test 260.63 Nvidia and 2202 intel x64 from post 1954.
With Starcraft all setting max i got average of 15 fps in 1920x1080.
I have to use Signature Enforcement Overrider
HDMI ok, brightness overlay and sound work.
Switch between SPEED, Stamina ans Auto work.
There is a big difference betwen ?
post 1883, with Nvidia 260.63 | Intel 2202 64bit Test1 and Test 2
and
post 1954, with 260.63 Nvidia and 2202 intel x64 fromLast edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015 -
I think that's what I was asking, but I can't tell if you're saying "there is" or "is there?" (a big difference).
-
My question is more like "is there" ?
-
I found that the latest built is more stable, this is the only time i can feel that everything is working, except 1 thing the signed driver.
i am going to try looking what the latest package included... -
Thanks for the input. I'll try it out, too.
-
Okay thanks. Having CUDA definitely sounds like a plus. Is there much of a benefit in getting the latest drivers from Nautis vs. the Official 190.24 ones Sony has posted? Thanks.
-
Nautis, can the "old" vgn-z users hoping for a new driver package?
-
hes working on it right now. should come out any day now.
-
Hi all! I'm new on this forum.
Nautis, thanks a lot for all the work on the Hybrid drivers! I only have a small question. I tested your 260.63 drivers on Windows 7 - 64bit, and they work just fine! (I do needed to sign them).
However, I also need to install the 3D Vision drivers, for stereoscopic 3D. Is there any possibility to also install these on the Sony Vaio VPCZ11 Hybrid? When trying the 3D Vision drivers from the Nvidia 3D Vision Notebook CD v1.36 it of course doesn't work, because the 3D Vision drivers are overwriting some driver files or something.
I hope to hear from u soon. Keep up the good work. -
^Are you wanting to output to a 3dtv?
-
Hi Beaups,
Yes that's what I want. Outputting 3D content to a 3DTV. It should be possible using the new 260.63 drivers: GeForce 3D Vision - 3D Vision Blog
I know it will also be possible with 3DTV Play package.
However the problem still is, the 3D Vision won't install on the Sony Hybrid system.
Tnx in advance! -
Just get a PS3 and dont worry about it hehehe
-
Yes, I also thought about that. But then I need a PS3 dev kit which costs about x000 euro's
I was hoping for Nautis on the same workaround as the 260.63 drivers but then for the 3D Vision part.
Question: I read something from a person 'HyperionEX', that it is also possible to disable the Intel Graphics driver in BIOS and with 2 lines changed in the INF you can just use new Nvidia drivers. Do you guys know more about this? And will 3D Vision work then? -
Oh my GOD! It works!!!
Thanks to Nautis, I installed the Nvidia 260.63 drivers for Windows 7 64-bit on the VAIO Z11.
After that:
-I disabled the Intel Graphics Card in Device Manager.
-I then could install the 3D Vision package from the Nvidia 3D Vision 1.36 CD.
-After that I reinstalled the Nvidia Hybrid 260.63 drivers from Nautis.
This morning I connected the VAIO Z11 to a Sony Bravia 3DHDTV, and I could do the Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D test, and also a 3D 1080p Side-By-Side trailer worked like a charm!!!
Freakin awesome! -
Are there any benchmarks between real gaming usage of 260.63 and the 197.85 driver? thanks
-
Official updated graphics drivers version: 8.16.11.9024
can now be installed from the Z13 page: Sony eSupport - VPCZ1390X - Software Updates & Drivers -
How did you managed this? I am trying to install these drivers on my VGN-Z4 (european model) without any luck. Any hints?
-
He mentioned numerous times that the 260.63 drivers are only for the VPC-Z series, I think he's still working on a set for the VGN's.
-
Hi Blue.
Thx for the info. The updated driver works like a charm on my system. Rock solid. No crashes. -
Have anyone made real tests between the lastest official drivers (beta or not) and nautis' 260.63 drivers in terms of gaming??
-
Same for my z11! thanx ;-)
Anyone knows on which nvidia and intel drivers this is based? -
NVidia 190.24 and Intel 2021.
-
Has somebody experience using the new driver in European models of Z11 and on a model with windows in German????
-
European model (CTO), 190.24 works fine, what's your problem ??
-
US Sony Support page states only for model Z13 US and Americas...not available on the the support page for Europe....
Ok I'll install, I need only one function: portrait format for ext display.
Thank you -
@ Pasadoble, you should be just fine installing the driver. I did it with the Z12 and it was no problem at all. Actually this SONY beta driver is the most stable display driver tested on my Z12 so far.
-
I installed these drivers. Working good. Is CUDA available with these drivers and how to check?
-
The old drivers did have cuda, just an old version that doesn't work with premiere pro (or indeed the bundled premiere elements).
I very much suspect the new drivers for the z13 will have the same problem.
However, I've just installed the new 260.63 drivers and it works like a charm. In particular, I'm delighted to report that adobe premiere pro now successfully identifies the gpu and uses it for dramatically accelerated rendering -
I have to admit that I didn't read the entire thread but having something in mind that autoswitching from speed to stamina doesnt work with the 260.63 driver? Or am I wrong?
-
The switching on my Z11 works fine and more stable than the 190 drivers from Sony which kept on causing a bluescreen when running windows xp mode under windows 7
-
i've installed 2.60 and i've not seen a better performance...
-
hmm...
nautis
would you like to share with us which file you changed in 26061 to make switching faster for the first time?
i kept searching until now... -
which video driver will work with rotate? i have a vaio z11. i tried changing the rotate flag to 16 decimal ( i did that in my asus g1s and it works there) i really need to rotate my external monitor.
thanks -
hmm 26061 2202 by nautis...
-
best 260.61 or .63?
