Yep I use nvidiaInspector, which works fine. 595x1180x820 works nice. When I go up to 600 I get artifacts.

Changed to MSI Afterburner, seems better.

Although, I'm wondering if the system changes display cards properly. I tried unhooking the power supply, and was monitoring both 330m and Intel HD card via GPU-Z, and both GPU-Z and the battery time indicated that it was still using 330m during battery time.

Anyone understand what I mean, and have answer/confirmation on this?

(My 3-state button is on "Speed" constantly - assumes no interaction here is needed?)

If you put your switch on speed, your Nvidia card is always used; On stamina, the intel card is always used. Only on auto doe sthe auto sitching between Nvidia and intel occur when disconnecting the power plug or connecting hdmi

Why do you use an external software to overclock your gt330... it's possible to do that on the nvidia panel of 260.x!!!

650 core gets a bit unstable and same with 825 memory.

Chulz- Thanks I know :) But I was under impression that the "new" 260.63 driver were Optimus = No need for the button. Nautis? Someone else confirm/deny?

Nope the latest 260.63 are just working the same as your current graphics drivers do. Switching and all is the same as it was.

I got the new verde drivers installed, by copying the crucial nvidia driver files from the verde pack on top of the modded 260.63 drivers (and manually driver signing them).

The installation is 100% the same as the 260.63 posted on page1, so follow that guide.

I am uploading the modded 260.89 drivers with the 260.63 installer now. (It will take a bit time, sorry.)

EDIT: Here is the link for the drivers:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/425932030/Nvidia_verde_260_89_w_260_63_installer_thomaskc.rar

Remember to sign the 2 files mentioned in the 260.63 guide on page1 AFTER you install these drivers, but BEFORE you reboot. (TEST mode has to be enabled)

here is a screenshot of my nvidia control panel:

P.S And NO not using the hacked bios, everything is standard sony.

Dolphin is somewhat more CPU-dependent, so overclocking the GPU will not improve speed in dolphin at all.

OT: In which games are you running into trouble? Perhaps we can open a new Z gaming thread including dolphin. I can share my performance tuning settings. I expect you to know that you can run dolphin smooth on a i7-980x @ 4GHz. You will never get there with the current Z. OC'ing of the Z's CPU is not possible as I know.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but not seen by me.

I am using a similar set up with 2 Dell 22" monitors running through an HP USB DisplayLink adapter so I end up with 3 screens running which is great! Although I haven't had the problems described above I am having another problem.

All goes well till I shut down and disconnect. When I re-start without being hooked up to DisplayLink I have lost Aero and get a message that my card can't run Aero.

The only way I have found round this is to uninstall the DisplayLink software/drivers (which gives me back Aero) then re-install DisplayLink when I go to hook up to the dual monitors again. As I do this every day when I go from one office to my home office it is becoming a pain!

I see that the DisplayLink site says there are some incompatibilities with some hybrid cards, including the Nvidia in the Z, and presumably this is the result of that incompatibility.

Has anyone else experienced and overcome this problem?

I have experienced this exact problem, but am not willing to go through the uninstall/reinstall process. At the moment, I'm sitting on the 190.xx release.

I have two display link configurations, one for home and one for office. The home config has 1 monitor off of the docking station's DVI port and two off of the USB ports. The office config has 1 DVI and 3 USB's.

I know its a big deal, but if possible id love to get rid of that little test mode indicator on the bottom right

Didn't read through the thread but had issues with cs5 photoshop today. Had it plugged in and then unplugged. As a result, it switched to stamina which basically crashed cs5. The graphics went black and I had to restart the program. Rather annoying because it usually would ask me on some applications.

Does it not ask with cs5?

today nvidia released yet another new Verde driver, 260.99

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.99 WHQL

I'm downloading as I type and will try to fit them into the 260.63 install package as I did with 260.89.

I have some question regarding this topic:

1.Reading (some part of) this thread I saw some guides on how to install the package (uninstall the drivers first...) is it still the same? Could you please point me the step-by-step guide for the latest package?

2.I see you talk about official sony drivers, but where do you see them? I cannot find them on any sony page (or at least not on sony europe)

3.Is it okay to install the latest package with bios R3030c3?

Forgive me for being so newbye, but this is my first post :)

    2. in the startpost are some ''beta'' drivers from sony (190.24) these are currently released as official drivers by sony.

    3. yes.

The change log should be on Nvidias page if you follow the link.

I am running with 260.99 at the moment at they seem to be just fine and stable, just like 260.89 I guess just with more bugfixes. My Internet is having massive problems at the moment but I will see if I can upload the new modded 260.99 tonight. cheers.

I hope this is the correct thread to post this question:

I recently purchased a VPCZ12 and I noticed that I cannot adjust the brightness when I am using the GT 330M. When I am in Stamina Mode (using Intel Media Accelerator) I can adjust it. I have turned off the auto brightness in the Sony Vaio tools to see if that would help, but it did not.

I am using the GT330M drivers that came with my system: 8.16.11.8880

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a way to resolve it?

    Thanks,

That should've done it. Turning off auto brightness... Also, did you have auto brightness on when u were able to adjust the brightness on your intel card? That isnt supposed to happen either.

When I am using the Intel Graphics Driver, I can adjust the brightness with or without the auto adjust enabled. The overlay will say auto when it is enabled, but it will still let me adjust the brightness.

When the auto adjust is enabled the dimming feature works (which I test by covering the sensor) when I use the Intel Graphics Driver, but will not work when I switch to the 330M.

Since in the office environment the highest brightness is a little too bright, I would like to dim the setting down.

    Hey, guys!

I've just upgraded mine VGN-Z540 to Win 7 64 bit and I'd like to install these drivers (9300M GS). Problem is that I've lost a bit in instructions how to do that. As you referred to this guide, could someone please once again just explain step-by-step how to do that? I couldn't understand what does guide mean by "Place INF downloaded above in Display.Driver folder after you extract the drivers" . So, if it wouldn't be a big problem for someone, I'd appreciate your help :)

For now I'm going to use the official ones(working perfectly), hoping for a new package that won't need the test mode.

A little bit OT: running dxdiag on a z12 (with 190.24, but I obtained the same with the preinstalled driver) it says I have approx 472MB of memory (while of course I have the gt330m with 1GB), is it normal?

And with the intel? I get approx 1760 MB.

Hey thomas, did you ever upload the tweaked 260.99's?

If not please, please use mediafire next time if you could, rapidshare is horrible :p

Also if it's something as simple as copying a list of files could you describe which ones and I'll write a batch script to do it. I tried figuring it out on my own but the installer would always complain. I also tried expanding the .dl_, .dr_ etc files with the Windows command line expand command.
