I'm not able to get graphics switch working on my VPCZ12X9E. I'm using clean Windows 7 x64 install without any additional drivers. Any tips? Thanks!

As there is finally a way to remove the "nvidia confidential" overlay when using nvidia Optimus with our Z, I was wondering if some brilliant minds have any idea of how to operate a fusion between hybrid graphics and optimus ?

The goal would be to get Optimus on "Auto" mode, full IGP on "Stamina" and full 330M on "Speed" mode.
I'm not sure of the real interest in every day use, but seems to be kinda great to bring this hybrid graphic system to it's ultimate evolution.

i don't know much about optimus, but i have idea for you.
hybrid platform role to 1 in optimus mode and see how it works.
i will try it for you. as it sounds very interesting.

and 1 thing that i thing is different between each others.
optimus cards are soldered to the board but not all hybrids...

    edit: give up on optimus

sorry i haven't go to vostro 3700 yet...

The Nvidia 26314 - Intel 2266 works fine also with external monitor, both with Intel and Nvidia. Also switching don't cause any trouble.

Nice, tried 263.14 / 2281 signed drivers and wow they work great. Now the Z really has all i wanted. I hate the driver signing part, but now i can just install and reboot and it's done ^_^.

Switching also no problems at all both ways.

That sounds really great!! great work!

Now please make it work with 266.87 :) as they have proven to me as being the best driver so far for my Z. not 267.xx

    Anyway! keep it up.

I've installed 26314/2281, and it seems to be working great. Thanks so much for working on this. But I used the 2nd special inf file and I don't see rotation as an option in the Intel config (that's where it's supposed to be, right?). I also, at least right now, after a few switches, don't have the NVidia CP in the context menu. I got it again after I rebooted with a TV connected to HDMI. I could certainly be doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what. Anyway, performance seems great, so thanks again.

Edit: Also, am I imagining, or is CUDA now available anytime you switch to speed? I just tried a video conversion after switching back and forth a bunch of times, and it seems to be indicating hardware acceleration is enabled (and I got a very fast encode). That's great news if it's truly working.

Edit2: TV controls in NVidia CP were missing for me until I rebooted with a TV connected to HDMI (connecting before rebooting didn't make them available).

the rotation menu is supposed to be inside control panel > display > adjust resolution you should see rotate, but I totally forgot intel side for rotation, please feedback about this with speed and stamina mode as i never try before.

I think 26314 2266 is better and more stable please help me to confirm this and i will release some preview inf for testing with 26314 2281 if you tell me 26314 2266 is better.

If you tell me cuda is working, can you check whether there are memory leakage?

First of all, I want to thank everyone involved for the drivers. I tried both 26314 2266 and 26314 2281. Regarding my experience with CUDA, if you leave the graphic switch to auto, CUDA, Open CL, PhsyX will still be working even after the laptop switch the graphic card back and forth. I never really checked my memory usage but I think there is no memory leak since I never get warning from Windows telling me I am low on memory.

If you switch it manually, after you switch to Intel and back to Nvidia, CUDA, Open CL, PhsyX will not be working anymore. The only one still working is DirectCompute.

FYI, I installed the one with standard features and the program I used to check those features is GPU-Z version 0.5.1.

    Hope it helps.

2281 severely messed up the windows 7.

I did a factory recovery before installing the 2281 driver while it was installing it gave me a BSOD and I wasn't able to boot.

I did a restore to several different restore points and one that only worked was 2hrs before I install the driver.

this resulted in so many errors in registry and if I were to see items under "uninstall a program" in control panel, there were only 8 items to uninstall with the factory condition.

I did a factory recovery again and installed 2266 and it works fine without an issue.

I think I figured out that rotation's available in the Windows CP menu. Sorry for not following up on that. It works (portrait, landscape, or either one flipped) in NVidia mode only..

Not sure how to test this vs the 2266 version in terms of stability. I haven't had any "stability" issues, per se, with the 2281. But I am seeing that the NVidia CP desktop context menu isn't available when switching from stamina to speed. You can always get to it from the main CP or a shortcut. Intel "Graphics Properties" is always available from the desktop context menu when in stamina. If I remember correctly, the NVidia context menu option is there when I boot into speed mode or connected to an external display.

I'm also not sure how to test memory leakage, but I'll search around and see if I can figure that out and test while doing a CUDA conversion.

    Thanks again.

26314 2281 might work if you modify the inf

I will add Intel code inside, wait for Wednesday fastest, Saturday slowest.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone can host Andrew08's Nvidia 26314 - Intel 2281 Signed drivers on something other than megaupload, like rapidshare. Anything else works in Hong Kong except for megaupload for some reason.

    Thanks in advance.

I tried it again and it's working in my Z. I don't know if GPU-Z detects the CUDA wrong. Just to clarify, what I mean by switching graphic when the switch is on auto is you unplug the power, and then replug the power. Not switching using the switch then put it back on auto.

I tested it on auto mode, pluged, the graphic automatically changed to auto stamina, play some game and get it change again auto speed cudo isn't there anymore.

I just installed 2281 on my vpc1, no major problems here.

I run my laptop connected to an external monitor, and when i switch from speed to stamina with my monitor connected, my monitor gives me an "input not supported" message.
However, my external monitor shows the screen just fine if i turn it off, switch to stamina, and turn it back on.
Switching back and fourth on the laptop screen works perfectly fine.

Please tell me the truth between 26314 2266 and 26314 2281.

What is the resolution for your external monitor? Do you set your VPCZ1 to run with 40Hz settings in stamina mode? Or do you change the color to 16 bit?

I havent gone out of my way to change the color or refresh rate.
Just checked, refresh rate for both the external and internal screen is 59 hz, both show 32 bit color.

On my BenQ Joybook S42 which has similar hybrid graphics (9600M GT/4500MHD) VGA output works with both Intel and nVidia, but HDMI only works on nVidia.

I'm connected to the monitor via VGA. plus I already said that the monitor works just fine if i put the computer in stamina mode with the monitor off, and then turn it on. it just loses signal when i switch from speed to stamina without turning the monitor off

Nvidia supports HDMI when it is on, but not when it is off.
VGA output is supported by both the intel and nvidia.

I am getting some seriously strange screen graphics errors (multi colour) when just when logging into windows after installing 263 - 2281, yet I am not 100% sure its the drivers fault, I will check tonight.
