Don't know, doesn't work for me either.

1600 for 13.1" screen? Forget it. The font would be way too small for my eyes.
-
everything is up on the business site except for models. Sonystyle on the other hand.......well offer nothing.
-
wow over 2 hour delay and counting...
-
I think the most exciting thing is perhaps the fact that the Sony Business website mentions that there will be reduced software load (less bloatware) on the new models. That would save people a lot of trouble from having to reinstall systems.
-
I thought there was a model with SSD, but the most expensive Z591UB does not have one. What's going on?
-
Whats the update on the people that called in?
-
I don't like the Z photos that have been photoshoped, but do you like the ones that I've been able to upload?

The Z looks really thick? Thanks, Please post if you have info....
-
If you read some of the post that have links, I recall reading that SSD is offerred as CTO, I think. There's so may posts; I can't keep up....lol.:confused2:

-

-
This is the one i want, Whats the cost on it?
-
Wow, i didnt know the Z series uses DDR3 memory.
and btw, hasnt 9:00pm ET already passed? sony should have udated their site already...
And hopefully theres a 64bit option for the Z series -
seeing as laptop magazine reports that the FW can have upto 8 GB ram, I'm guessing sony wil install 64-bit Vista
-
I hear breathing, lol. Also, I wish the SR had a video like that
-
I heard the breathing too..lol.. at first i thought it was me
-
almost midnight and no word from sony.
hmmmm....wonder whats the hold up...inventory taking this long? -
Can we call just call and see what is up and report what they say. Maybe after enough calls they will hurry up and understand that there are valuable customers drooling to make orders. 1 877 865 7669

Am I right in reading the following as replacements for the old models?
TZ is now Z
SZ is now SR
FZ is now FW
or has the real replacement for the TZ not been announced yet?
Thanks -
it's only me and you in here now probably. everybody else probably went to bed. I should be reading my book for homework as well as writing an essay. If it wasn't for this damn delay I would have been relieved enough to actually concentrate!
RAJA check out my topic I made

Maybe the sony tech guys got their own Z laptops and are too mesmurised to remember that they need to update the site
-
so essentially my talk with the rep was this....
Me: "Do you whats taking so long?"
Rep: "The site is not up?"
Me: "Yes and whats causing that delay."
Rep: "Theres just a delay. ... It should be up any time now."
very informative no? -

Oh mann, the Z series looks sickkkk. Almost like the TZ series. Personally I dont know how anyone could want go for somethng smaller than the SZ. Especially the way it is now. You guys shouldnnt complain, I have to fkin wait cuz im in Canada, so it'll take another 2 weeks or so for it to come here. Bull**** man. I dont understand how these companies work sometimes, we're not friggen Africa. Release the god damn **** here at the same time, we're the next door neiboours. Anyway so yea the Z series looks frikken awesome. I just hope its a decent price otherwise ill take my business else where.
-
LOL I got the same response. Like "I DON'T KNOW SHUT THE HELL UP AND WAIT" kind of tone. Same here... it was probably the same guy.. Dimitri I think his name was
-
The TZ hasn't been replaced. The SZ seems to have been replaced by two models, or you can view the Z as a replacement for the SZ and the SR as a replacement for the CR, even though the CR was a 14" notebook.
-
Thanks for posting the measurements. I'm amazed that from the photos I've seen of the Z that it is >.2 thinner than the SZ. The photos of the Z make it look thicker. I wonder why?
I am so glad that the Z has its own unique design than what was speculated that it was to resemble the TZ. I am also glad that the Z does not have that black glossy piano finish around the keys. The only photo I need to view is how that hinge, that long round bar that crosses the screen and keyboard, looks. I don't like the way it appears on the TZ. The design of the hinge isn't flushed with the rest of the computer. IMO, it's an eye sore on the TZ.
This an actually look in real life will convince me to get one. As for the configurations, I am satisfied. I just don't like the write speed of burning Blu-Ray. -
he shuld jes open up one of the Z models and use it instead of using the crappy computer he's on...Thats probably whats causing the delay :|

Acutally the Z series does look almost exactly like the TZ series, from the picture of course at least. I really wanted to get the TZ all these years but theres no power so now with the Z series u get best of both worlds and without eye strain. -
-=ToRoNtO-GuYY=- Notebook Evangelist
Oh and forgot to mention, even though its a small thing, im soooooooooooo glad they made the Vaio sign Silver on the Z series just like the TZ series. Makes a pretty big diffreent looks wise.

-
-=ToRoNtO-GuYY=- Notebook Evangelist
Why u gotta BS man, theres no update yet. Almost gave me a heart attack. -
how did you find that?!?!
-
Remember, you can't directly compare RW speeds between media.
For BluRay:
Speed Mbit/s MB/s
1× 36 4.5
2× 72 9
4× 144 18
For DVD:
4× 44.32 5.28
6× 66.48 7.93
10× 110.80 13.21
So the 2x BR-R is actually faster than a 6x DVD-R when it comes to throughput. -
It works for me
-
The link will bring you to the vaio Z page, and you can browse to other models as well. -
